1. Am I correct in thinking that he doesn't actually use this bass himself? He should stop his barney with Musicman and start using Stingrays again, his tone was amazing during that period.
2. Yep, Agree with the last two posts. Blowtorch is the way to go, you can pick them up like 80 quid used, a lot less then I paid
3. Have you done your group practical yet?
4. Nope, I'm sick of telling people that I play bass for them to go 'OMG Can you slap like Flea!!!'. I agree with skankdelvar, no single individual is the best bass player.
5.
Well, if you want a preamp type thing in pedal form, there is the Tech 21 VT Bass pedal, which is designed to replicate the SVT tone. Zach
+1 See if any of your bass friends have one of these so you can try it out, it cops the Ampeg tone perfectly. Its also quite a bit less then the preamp.
6. Pino Palladino Custom Shop but strung with Rounds. And a Macca Rickenbacker for backup. Bi-amp: Aguilar DB751 --> Aguilar DB810. Mesa/Boogie 400+ --> Aguilar DB412. My Board would consist of every MXR bass pedal, a cryababy and a tuner.
7.
Justin Meldal-Johnson occasionally dabbles with one, seen a few shots of him rocking out on it with Nine Inch Nails recently!
Including an P/J custom shop Jag!
8. The bassist posts on Talkbass and seemed like a decent bloke. Can't confess to liking anything about that video thought.
9. How does the Gk/Aguilar combination sound?
10. Thomann do an Thomann-branded tweed case for thirty eight quid. It might be better quality then the Ebay ones and has a three year guarantee.
11. Aguilar are releasing an octave pedal of their own: http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_octamizer.htm
12. Also apparently Krist Novoselic thinks he's the new messiah.
13. Not sure if it was the same model but I used a BOSS Metal-zone once and it sounded alright. Obviously there was quite a large low-end loss, but it sounded like a synthy fuzz. If you do give it a go don't push the volume up to much, especially at first.

15.
Im curious about Wolstenhome...me not being into this kind of stuff...Ive heard alot about him and was curious to how good he is.??...Cant seem to find anything on YT? I may be wrong but were not talking Gospel bassist good??? I take it he doesnt slap.
I never got what the big deal about Wolstenhome is, his playing style really just consists of fast picking and a rack full of effects. Though fair play to him, it fits in with the rest of the band very well and Hysteria alone has probably encouraged a lot of youngsters to start playing.
16. Its not like its going to become a staple of his sound, it's a fill in one song.
17. Is it possible to run the Ab200D into just the 1x15 only without blowing a speaker?
18. Planet waves do a solder-less one for about forty quid.
19.
Didnt have a sticker - and it wasnt Mark in there so really no point asking, cos Mark would have given me a better deal.
Yeh, he's a top bloke.
20. Has anyone tried the TI Jazz rounds?
21. Its the pedal that Timmy C used on the first Rage album isn't it? I always thought that these were pretty sought after.
22. I think Planet Waves make one. EDIT: http://store.daddario.com/category/146562/...uot%3B_Straight
23.
Except for the synth which could turn out to be a sleeping Octavius Squeezer/Deep Impact/G5 killer...
That's the one I'm keeping tabs on aswell. Especially with the USB connection for *fingers crossed* near unlimited sounds.
