1. Yes, indeed I am - a pm will be sent after dinner ;D R
2. Blimey there are some crap cd's on that lower shelf
3. I'm looking to sell my Lakland Darryl Jones 5 string - I love the way it plays and sounds but I prefer full size J bodies and am looking to replace this with a JO5 or sadowsky. Excellent condition despite being gigged - no issues whatsover - plays like a dream, really easy to set up with a low action. The best low B on a 5 string jazz I've ever heard. £800 collected or + delivery Very open to trades on a 5 string jazz - I've also got a cij 62 reissue jazz for sale - I'd be happy trading both for something if needed. I live in Egham, Surrey and work in Guildford but travel to sussex regularly.
4. Fender CIJ '62 reissue jazz bass with fender custom shop pickups and a badass bridge. Great low action - excellent condition, it's got a few little marks but nothing major- It's fairly light aswell. I bought it off of ebay recently because I'm a dick head and keep thinking a 4 string bass will work for me - out of the 8 or so years I've been playing now, I've had a 5 string bass as my main gigging instrument for the last 6 - so for me, a bass has 5 strings. Trade wise - along with my lakland dj5 which is also for sale - I'm after a lakland JO5 first and if I've got enough money, an MM SR5 [s]£500 [/s] £475 collected or + shipping - I live in Egham, Surrey - work in Guildford and travel regularly to Brighton. 5. I've bought quite a few albums after watching his videos - I know I'm not the only one
6. This is why I believe every bass player should learn to play with both; BOBBY VEGA
7.
I don't get the "Friction/grip is good" thing. Why would you want to make it harder for your finger to get from one side of the string to the other, ie: Pluck? Liking a fairly bright and sustained sound, I would change strings every 3 or 4 shows, it tends to be 4 or 5, or sometimes 6 shows these days. The downside is that the new strings (I use Elites) tend to be a little rough for the first 1/2 hour or so of use. My remedy: Raise my fingers to my head and use a little "brow grease"...more effective than gob
+ 1 + I find the same thing with elites - after that initial breaking in they're great
8. I'd be happy to sell it if no one has a jazz bass version to swap. £10 delivered (mainland uk)
9. I've got a brand new, never fitted precision bass chrome pickup cover - looking to trade for a jazz bass version. Cheers ;D R
10.
Hey Toasted, do you know by any chance how well a lakland 5-string would fit in the case? Thanks, Graham
I've got an older tourbag, my DJ5 fits in perfectly, the lakland 5ers are actually shorter than a jazz bass overall due to the headstock
11. I reckon the lakland pickups are excellent anyway - although I still have a thing for the active EMG jazz pickups
12. My old CIJ 75 reissue jazz was routed properly - so you could actually take the guard off The neck pocket was also a perfect fit - I've not found this to be true of many usa fenders except for the new >2008 models.
13. Ah that's a shame - it's all pretty tidy but the neck pickup rout is about 5 mm each side larger than the pickup itself. I quite like the look of the DJ without a pickguard - Juan Alderete of mars volta has a nice white usa dj4 guardless.
14. Where abouts are you based? The sadowsky is causing some major financial flatulence
