  1. I think this would be a revelation if it could be done. I think those that dont have a location , and you have to actively not fill that bit in when joining, are paranoid that somehow, even with a weird forum name, and a location like Yorkshire, that all the BC hackers, of which there are over 30,000, are still going to discover your real name, your address, and steal your identity. Why people dont put relevant info in for sale stuff is just as mysterious. Perhaps they deliberately leave out useful info so that they get a lot more replies asking for stuff that they have left out, so it looks like more people are interested in their item
  2. I decided to go for the Warwick, and confusingly, there seems to be 3 models available. Either a silver or black model, ( which have slightly different graphics to each other ) both with wood side cheeks, or the third choice, which is a black model again, but no wood cheeks, and the amp controls are inset, instead of being flush with the front. Just looking for a pic ... This one is different to the two photos posted earlier. The controls are set back as can be seen, and no wooden side cheeks
  3. Would be good to see the original photo in the OP's post, as there are no signs of any bass on Le Voi's website
  4. I've never had that problem with any flatwounds.
  5. Open to near offers by PM Peavey MiniMega 1000 watt head - owned from new, so includes original box No faults at all, apart from 2 small dings. Cosmetic only, no affect on the amp, which works a treat. Priced accordingly No bag, as they dont come with one , but i could pinch my other head's bag if it means a sale, but that will be an extra £15. Various preamp colours to choose. I've taken a couple of shots of colours, but there's at least 6 IIRC ( my fave was the Trace Elliot green ) The cheapest place to buy a new one is GAK right now, at just under £500 delivered. I'll post mine free. 1,000 Watts RMS (1,500 Watts peak) Gain control with crunch button Built in compressor with defeat switch 4-band EQ with Punch and Bright switches Mid controls feature semi-parametric control with narrow Q controls Built in Kosmos Bass Enhancement with Psycho-acoustic and Sub controls Master volume with mute control 1/8" headphone output 2 twist-lock combo 1/4" outputs
  6. The Epifani looks good, but i'm warming to the Warwick with a compressor for each preamp. Trouble is , the minute i decide i want to buy something, they dont come up for sale
  7. I'll have a look at that LB, thanks
  8. Damn. I was hoping for another " stair accident " Win some lose some
  9. No, you're not. Can you please leave by the rear stair-case ? Thanks
  10. This one BB ? https://musicsquare.co.uk/149498_Warwick-LWA-1000-Black-bass-head-1000W4ohm.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwio3dBRAqEiwAHWsNVa2uSgUFeRKuwDvSiO3vRGC9K-RWHIG8bY6S50T-lx_3NkBxE-3VGxoCDHsQAvD_BwE
  11. My Overwater already has on-board pre, so another one is probably out of the question. And the idea of a footswitchable dual pre means i dont have to keep walking back to the amp
  12. Wow - that's an odd looking amp. Looks like a big foot pedal - i'll check this out too, though if, as you say, they're expensive, maybe not. Interesting though
  13. Thanks owen - now on the check list with whatever the Warwick is
  14. Well i remember those old Sony HiFi units of old. No problem with the look of 'em
  15. PS i realise that there are pedals ( Providence , Bassbone , etc ) but i want to cut down on gear
  16. Having failed to find anything useful using " dual preamp " in the search function, got to ask here. I'd like a dual preamp head, ( not dual power amp ) and footswitchable , so i can set two different EQ sounds for one bass. I've already owned a Carvin BX - great amp - but over the top. Found i didn't need two internal power amps. I know there's a Markbass LMK, but cannot find one 2nd hand. Genz Shuttle Max 9 ( 9.2 ? ) i believe had dual preamps , and maybe the Mesa Titan v12, but thats too much, especially the price. Is there any other dual preamp heads that i could be looking for ?
  17. Because the choice to go or stay is down to the punter. You surely cannot sit through a loud gig with your ears fizzing and then complain
  18. Just have to say that i've been dealing with Wunjo recently, it was Tom to be precise , the bass dept. manager, who was a joy to speak to, and got a fabulous deal from him. The bass i bought didn't come with any case, and Tom said he'd throw one in with the deal if he could find one to fit ( odd shape bass and very long ) Meanwhile, Tom shipped the bass in a fab quality Roksan gigbag, ( plus cardboard boxes, 2 of ) free of charge, and a few days later, a brand new hard case arrived of the right size. Wunjo / Tom / and James went beyond the call of duty in their customer service, and TBH, was a shock to see a business be so helpful. 10 / 10 for Wunjo
  19. Same here - it's not that floppy is unplayable, but more that high or higher tension is the preference, so why settle for something you don't want, when the what you do want is available
  20. They weren't new strings Maude, so i doubt i'll need to play them for a while. I guess the running in period has already been sorted
  21. It's a mystery and had to play this in one band i was in. Pretty simple bass line, but hated playing it.
  22. Well it ain't no 80's Aria Pro ll bridge, but maybe just some generic thing
  23. And i bought them - lovely They were straight in the post next day - good lad !
