  1. I would just use the 100mm hole saw you have, hole saws will normally cut "oversize" a tad and you could just ease the hole with sandpaper to achieve a nice snug fit.
  2. I use them for most of the Free & Bad Company numbers we do, they were created mainly for "All right now" & "Feel like making love"
  3. Here are a couple of files for the 'Free' & 'Bad Company' patches from earlier in the thread. FREE Bman [JdB-Dri].zb1f FreeTE4x12 [JdB-Dri].zb1f
  4. All Tested and all downloaded successfully and all work fine. Well done @Al Krow again you prove yourself to be a generous, kind, supportive contributor to these hallowed Forums and a true Gent . Thank you ( Take a Pound out of the till on your way home Son)
  5. CEO vanity has an influence in the first instance until financial reality hits and quietly papered over. Probably following a review by an outside Consultant who charges £2500 a day and plays golf with the CEO.
  6. I have a sack cloth tabard, that has been soaked in goats milk and hanging out in the sun for the past week, that you are welcome to wear when you surface for the bath dowsed in Domestos. I'm sure your penance will be enjoyed by all!
  7. I love this, simplistic, elegant and a refined beauty. I would really think twice about this , if you still wish to proceed have it done by a professional. OR sell it and buy another Spector in the colour combo you desire. Sorry for being such a miserable old Pensioner!
  8. +1 Sell the PJ cabs and search out Ashdown cabs driven by your MAG head. If a band opportunity arises consider upgrading the head when needed.
  9. I agree with choice of simplistic black Pup & control plate. It's going to be a great looking bass.
  10. Spent a very pleasant afternoon yesterday noodling on my B1Four and I was struck yet again how much value is bundled into this little box. I now own 2 B1Fours (just like @Al Krow) one permanently on my small pedal board and the other in daily use in the study/music room with my practice setups. I have Gas for a Line 6 wireless POD Go, but I don't believe the cost justifies the improvement in sound to my 70 year old ears or in the mix of the pub venues we play. The recent addition of a HB Airborne wireless unit hasn't helped with the maths since the two together come in at less than £180. Perhaps I'm just tooooo much of a SkinFlint.
  11. Is a NS Pulse 4 considered by Spector owners a good entry into the Land of Spector for a Newbie to Spector basses?
  12. What are the disadvantages of the port being too close to the corners? +1 Always used my BF One10 on it's side with the port pointing out the side.
  13. And there's me thinking that our singer was unique, I didn't realise there were more of them about!!!!!!!
  14. @stevie and @Phil Starr have authored a number of speaker cab threads, it's really worthwhile reading through them to benefit from their vast experience. The recent 10 ins Lockdown Easy build cab had a target tuning of 50Hz which maybe more suited to your project.
  15. Indeed the "Barncaster" look would be fantastic and a bit rugged looking. I agree with a Telebass neck with maple fretboard. 51'P control plate for simplistic V & T keeps that earthy appeal. I'm not so sure about the EBC4 Mudbucker in that position with 34ins scale as you may run into string/ pole piece alignment issues. One idea , to maintain that unusual rustic look, maybe to use a single Warman MM pickup. Great versatile pickup. Looking forward to following progress.
  16. Which ones did you get?
  17. Received an email from Thomann this morning stating that they are unable to supply a UK adaptor for the Airborne PSU. But they are kindly going to send a EU to UK converter FOC. https://www.thomann.de/de/thomann_adaptor_euro_psu_uk.htm Problem fixed but it sure looks like Brexit has influenced their sourcing and procurement policy. I will revert back later.
  18. Transmitter is 90mm X 45mm X 15mm, is very light, just a few grams with a nice bright display. The angled jack plug sits really well on basses with bottom mount sockets and with surface mount sockets. The transmitter folds nicely into the bottom contour of the bass. It sits neatly onto the receiver base unit with quite a strong magnet. The base receiver unit is 95mm x 130mm x 30mm, comes with stick on rubber feet that should be easily for some Loop & Hook tape for fixing to the pedal board, made from a robust plastic the base receiver has a non adjustable bright display. The tuner works "Okay" is adequate but registers pitch slightly flat compared to my other tuners. Nothing really to be worried about. Setup at home and the unit works really well with no ( not to my ears) apparent latency. Remember my ears are 70 yrs old and have been abused over the years. The "cable tone" effect works very well and found that the optimum position for my setup was 12 noon. It offers a wide range of adjustment and seems to be more flexible than the simple ON/OFF/LONG/SHORT offering of others. The setup I used to test the unit was P Bass>>>HB AirBorne>>>Thumpinator>>>>Zoom B1 Four>>>>Tech21 VT Bass DI>>>>>Fender Rumble 500>>> BF Super Compact. Clearly this is a value for money solution that fits my pocket for performance and price. It will go permanently onto my small Pedal Board but with the Thumpinator positioned in such a way that if the HB Airborne ever failed I could easily plug a lead into the Thumpinator directly. Apologies for the "Layman" type review, I am sure some of the more technically competent amongst will offer a more in-depth update once more units are in circulation.
  19. Great amps, I own a Rumble 500 and a Rumble 800HD. GLWTS
  20. Well it finally arrived Thursday. First impressions, there's no UK adapter on the 9v psu, (email sent to Thomann) it's very light, seems quite robust for plastic, foot switch has a very positive action and the LED screen is clear & bright. Once fully charged I'll run some listening tests.
  21. Landing tomorrow, some glitch with PayPal holding the order as "Pending". Got an email from Thomann to fix the glitch, I think it's something to do with the new export stuff.
  22. Has anyone else tackled a Basschat easy build lockdown cab? It would be great if you could share your experiences.
