1. It's not that daunting to do I find! But having said that I believe they come with a bridge cover!!
2.
Pictures as promised. I had to use the shop's photo's as my camera is playing up, but this is the actual bass I bought. Needless to say I have now removed the cheesy sticker!
... -drools-
3. Laneys are great amps, I have an RB4 that I've just sold on ebay. Love it, great tone, easy to use with good features!
4. I just GASsed D:
5. Hmm. I don't think you can be too good. But it depends on what you mean by that statement. I think Jaco was bloody awesome, but I also think the same of Tim Commerford. If you're quating how good someone is on an instrument based on technical prowess...then I'd probably agree that there are a few bass players out there that seem to care more about technique and showing off than about playing music. In which case I suppose they are too good. If that makes sense.
6. Just looking at them on their site... Woah. Ally want!!!
7. I wish my impulse buys could be as lavish
8. De La Rocha's new effort "One Day As a Lion" EP... Its alright...
9. Meh no side is better than t'other really. Are bargain hunters who happily buy things from sellers who are unaware of an item's value any less greedy than that of a seller who raises his price due to high demand? Meh. I can understand the annoyance though.
10. Heh, he lives just over the water from me.
11.
Can you tap your fingers or clap your hands in time along with a song? I know plenty of people who can't do this, and it's made me think that some people just can't discern a rhythm. Not trying to be discouraging, just wondering.
Every show ive ever worked on I've seen people like that, clapping along to songs completely at random with no regards to time! I've never understood it, it's quite a skill.
12. 4 beats to a bar, common time. It's all just theory you'll pick up over your time playing. Some people are naturally able to pick up rhythm fine and some have to work at it. No biggie, all of the above is good advice and some that I should probably take too!
13. This is now currently sat in my house Cheers mate!
14. Cool guy! He put up with me getting hopelessly lost in the bus station trying to find him and all the kit was just as described and works perfectly. Cheers mate! Highly recommended.
15. Thats gotta be a record!
16. Sounds reasonable to me, used ones go for between 380/90 quid so 400 of a mint one (and the bag) is pretty good I'd say!
17.
Albums by a new singer songwriter from Chicago called David Thiele and a band called Millicent Friendly (who sound like Jellyfish). Both are £5 downloads from a really good independent music website called www.cdbaby.com as recommended by NancyJohnson on this site. People moan that the net's killing music - but I listen to/buy a bigger variety of stuff now than I ever did.
Agreed, the internet is VERY beneficial to music, just not the big music business. Which IMO is a good thing in many ways.
18.
i love mine, feels very natural and gives far more balanced tension and therefore tone across the strings.
You can get even tension across strings on a normal bass by choosing the right gauges though. Anyway, all this fanned fret business makes my head spin.
19. I know it's not the answer youre looking for but Jazz basses do a perfectly good rick impression IMHO.
20. I love my guitars and I don't think I could really bring myself to sell either of them. Although I find it hard when I knock one and put in a dent or a bit of damage, at the same time I like it. It's just what happens and every dent, knick and scratch tells something of a story
21. Yeah I saw this earlier! Was a bit suspicious but now it makes sense
22. If I werent tied into another potential LMII deal right now I'd totally go for this! Great amps.
