4.
I must admit neither do i. Nor the headstocks much but im not one for going for the looks much.
I agree, cant stand the look of the bridges
5.
I am sorely tempted to click the "Offensive" button on this one
Same...unless you're talking about bass as a guitar

7.
Although all the reports I've read say the Backline stuff is good, I would say: BUY SECOND-HAND! A good GK head will set you back 250-300 on basschat, and you'll get a pair of great cabs for £286-336. Plus, everything will hold its value for when you get bored of it.
Cannot +1 this enough. Second hand/used is where its at.
8. I think the common, probably only, solution is to inject glue into the crack. Most glues these days are stronger than the wood itself so if done properly a repaired crack can be very stable. Just look at the bass of doom! I'd certainly give it to a luthier to make sure the job is done proper like though
9. Headstocks. A bad headstock can put me off an otherwise good looking bass. Maybe if I found an incredibly beautiful bass with an ugly headstock I could just play with a paper bag over it...
10. -sniff- I smell GAS ...yeah so this site (in conjunction with talkbass) is bad for your wallet! Ps. The mark bass LMII is kick ass. Buy one. Now. Do it. Go on. You know you want too...
11. http://www.myspace.com/thesevenarmsofshiva I LOVE their cover of someday...
12.
Just figure out some of the vocal melodies and have some fun with them! Always a good way of starting! Jaco used to advocate learning the main melodies of any song he was playing! Si
Word to your mother! I love figuring out the various melodies of songs and trying to incorporate bits from the vocals into a bassline and so on. It can work really well.
13. From what I've been told is to make sure that the guitards havent cranked up the bass on their EQs for a start. Im sure you probably already know that but hey, every little helps and all that...I'm sure a few others will be along with better suggestions soon
14. I will order from the UK. I'd rather get the fix done quickly, it seems easy enough even for a newbie. Any good places to buy from?
15. Sounds like a wonderful shop Mr Punkdude, I wish there were more places like that in Glasgow. (dont get me wrong there are a few awesome shops but none quite like that!)
16. I dont but mon pere will somewhere Ill have a scout about in a mo. I take it if your prognosis is correct then it is terminal? As in new tone put time? Also its very close but no, the numbers are EP088 250K
17. Ok bit late, sorry. Here's some photos. Is it just me or does that sticky out bit (to use th on the pot look wonky? Is that normal?
18.
Add Kate Beckinsale to that wager and then we'll talk
How about 11 pennies and her toe?
19.
Knowing scales and the interelationship of them makes the process of figuring out what works much easier and more pleasureable. I've done this from a before and after POV and it makes life so much easier and more creative. It's like trying to write poetry without knowing how to speak the language you're writing in if you don't know the theory.
Maybe for some and not for others.
20.
New EBS TD650 head from Lee650! Anyone interested in the 4x10's at all?
I'll give you 10 whole pennies for both
21. I too have an LMII gig bag, only cause I got it chucked in as part of the deal. It seems pretty solid though the straps are a bit meh.
22. I know a few scales and theyre very useful but I prefer to just figure what works and what doesnt out by myself!
23. If this was a 4 stringer I'd be resisting the overwhelming temptation to get the wallet out!
