1. Hahaha oh I am indeed a slave to the GAS. Goes for bikes too, it's an expensive and incurable disorder
2. Thanks for the replies, can always rely on BC for good honest advice - as for the DB112 I know, I know it's not THAT bad Some interesting points, I will check out the Epifani, line6 and Trace options. Just replacing the cab is something that didn't occur to me really for some reason
3. Hi there, So I'm thinking of selling on my beloved Markbass LMII and Aguilar rig...long story short: don't have a job any more, going back to uni, could use some cash and something a little more portable (ok so the LMII is fine but the cab weighs a ton). I've been out of the game for a while when it comes to bass gear so I could use some advice on what to look at for in a good combo that I could use for regular practice and the odd jam sesh (usually with a drummer and guitarist). I would be willing to spend up to £300. Any help would be mucho appreciated! Also, keep an eye on the for sale threads
4. *sigh* had to let one of these go on ebay for 120 or something stupid once. Great cab, I really miss it actually. Have a bump on me.
5.
Ah! I am reminded of an occasion when I parked my car outside a rehearsal studio. I am a bass geek & fanatic,I admit - and I have had some 'bass clef' badges made in the style of the normal car manufacturer badge as a replacement on my motor. A group of 'musicians' were lurking around the back of my car, when one was heard uttering, "Why has that guy got a hearing aid symbol on the back of his car?" I can't find an emoticon with a big enough roll of the eyes to post!
HAHAHA I'm musically retarded when it comes to theory (I'm seriously considering learning Piano because my lack of knowledge frustrates me) but even I know a bass clef when I see one.
6. Whats the neck on this like? It's hard to tell from pics
7. Where wounld the best place to get yer mits on one of these be? I am seriously, seriously tempted. I always missed the bridge mutes on the modern style rays...*GAS*
8. Thank fook you're not further south as I would be having a bit of a crisis right now... Good luck with the sale, have a bump!
9.
Agree +10000. I swear by the ol' Grolsh washers and use them on all my basses (except my fretless which has Schallers on). Now if I can convince Erdinger to do a swingtop beer with washers then my life will be complete
All beer should be swingtop! Utter genius invention tbh.
10. Grolsch washers! Seriously, they kick ass and they come with a free bottle of beer!
11. Also you should probably give him fair warning, see if he can't see his way to being a bit more time/commitment concious.
12. The Hitchhikers' Guide, the original radio version for probably the 100th time...Lolling in the office, people probably think I've lost it.
13. Denmark St is the biggest collection of rip off merchants in the UK, don't bother
14. ....stunning, jaw droppingly so. I am envious.
15. Can people please stop selling their 'rays? Seriously I'm GASsing like a mofo here and have no dough to back it up. (bump for a beautiful lookin geetar)
16.
Personally? Lm3 all the way. I love the warmth and low end from mark bass amps.
Seconded, the Genz's are superb too but a bit more Hi-fi. The MarkBass have a warmth to them I really like. It's all subjective, of course mind. Your best bet is to try them both yourself!
17. Jaysus, almost ashamed to "show off" my rig in here... See below...
18. Haha I was just wondering if they'd get pissy if I buggered off like a month after buying it here. Cool. Wonder if they'd be pissy about me going back to uni (ie becoming unemployed, though with money saved) too...meh. It's tempting but then sometimes I wonder if it's better just to go for it and pay upfront.
19. What about someone who normally lives in scotland but is currently living in London for 5/6 months working I wonder...
20. ....F*** That is my dream bass. Right there. ...I...need to think...
