  1. Someone Eldon here eckoned the Squier JV was better than a MIM and nearly as good as a US.
  2. You’re dead lucky with that at that price, you probably spent as much again on strings and knobs! 😋
  3. Particularly good if a band has brass in it. They like to play in Eb and Bb so it’s nice to have a low root note.
  4. How ice to see a Limelight that hasn’t got all the paint ripped off!
  5. That Eastwood looks more like an Eko or a Teisco than a Höfner. Personally I wouldn’t give it house room.
  6. I was watching that too while I tried to research them. Never seen one previously and couldn’t find a review. Well done for being t he brave one, I hope it is a real pleasure to play.
  7. £650 for a Mex? Send it back it should be perfect for that. I got my US Gibson for less and it was perfect.
  8. Do you want short scale like the ebo or long scale like a precision or jazz bass? Short scale will really restrict your choices whereas every bass manufacturer on the planet makes long scale basses. Just go to a guitar shop and try them!
  9. I love the look of them, but not the price! Importing direct must have cost you an arm and a leg! It looks short scale but having looked at Lakland ‘ s website it says it’s long. Which? I think I saw Garry Tallent of E-Street band using one one a recent concert. Must be quite good to lure him off Spectors.
  10. Aren’t the slot head EB3’s long scale?
  11. Seem to be back up to £399
  12. I agree with Happy Jack about checking out the B to make sure it’s not floppy. However I have both 34 & 35 which are both fine. Spector are great and 5’s are generally 35”. Look for a Legend rather than Performer, should be within budget. You get the curved body which is Spector’s speciality.
  13. Won’t the scale length be all wrong?
  14. I notice it’s made in Arroyo Grande California. My daughter lives there, didn’t know they had a luthier in the town. It’s just down the road from San Luis Obispo, home of Music Man.
  15. Congratulations. That’s a great looking bass, do I detect a little tip of the hat towards Ric? I am amazed it’s under 7lb.
  16. Not so much fakers - perfect clones. Fab-u-Lous.
  17. You probably won’t like this, it’s a 2013 Gibson EB.
  18. Always loved the look of these but never had a chance to play one. It seems surprising heavy at 4.4k for a chambered body.
  19. Don’t know why Fender dropped these, good shape, what’s the weight like? I haven’t heard of mint red before 😆😁😃😂
  20. I had the strap fitment come undone mid gig and my Jazz bass hit the ground knocking over the aviom unit in the process . Not cool.
  21. Looks like you may become the test case!
  22. Why’s the neck on back to front on the Limelight? Must make tuning awkward. There was a reason why Leo designed 4 on one side.
  23. I thin k it should be a Rickenfaker, 4003 shape but with a hollow body. Nice big slash ‘f’ hole like the 360. Try a piezo pickup bridge like the Fishman to give it an alternative sound to what e er magnetic pickup grabs your fancy!
