1. What's wrong with them and where abouts do you live?
 2.
It's ok, but not up there with the best, come to think of it I can't remember when I last listened to it either. Somewhere in time is also a bit up and down. I guess it's those mid years where I think they lost a bit of direction. I can't think of a track I don't love on the first two albums, similar on seventh son, number of the beast starts wobbly with invaders and then is brilliant. I can't really comment on the latest stuff as I haven't really followed them for a while.
Fair enough. Not a fan of their latest stuff either but always see them live.
 3.
I can see where you are coming from but as a whole I would just never reach for it on the shelf. I am a bit biased as I love PDs voice so keep being drawn to the first two albums, but then number of the beast and seventh son take some beating. Just nothing from Powerslave shouts out enough I guess.
How about Piece of Mind?
 4. I don't gig. Had flats on one P bass for over 18 months. The other p bass under a year. J bass had round wound rotos on for a while.I prefer roundwood on j bass, it gives the growly sound.
 5.
Not sure it counts at critically acclaimed, but loads of Iron Maiden fans seem to like Powerslave but it's the only album of theirs that I can't find anything I like on. Very samey and nothing original to me. And at risk of being hung drawn and quartered, most Beatles albums. They just don't do anything for me.
I know what you're saying but it was followed by their longest tour ever. Have you listened to the isolated bass tracks from Powerslave? I found the sound of the bass extremely good.
 6. I might be biased but.... https://youtu.be/A72TYFcqk4E

 8.
Thanks for the endorsement. Its now up for sale or trade. The Freeman sounds ideal to me...
Initially I was looking for another MF bass forca project but too goid to ruin. Are you selling your bass here?
 9.
That's not even close for me, but it has jogged my memory. On the B side of The Trooper (IIRC) they covered Tull's Cross Eyed Mary, and that was magnificent.
Cross Eye Mary- What a performance by Bruce! How about King of Twilight, that bass intro is amazing.
 10. If you get your hands on a Matt Freeman bass you won't regret.I re moded mine with Spb4 then Spb1. Eventually I reverted back to stock pups.
 11. Massacre - Iron Maiden
 12. I did order three times from one of them but I don't advertise for free. If they read this thread, they can pm me and for a small gratitude I'll post a positive feedback for the one I used.
 13.
Might be a tiny drop of chorus, it sounds to me like it's mainly reverb or a very short delay.
Reverb might give it that big sound
 14. https://youtu.be/TBWoKaZKNXA What effect is used on bass between 5:10-7:33? Chorus?
 15. Good choice. I love mine
 16. I'm in love. Come on lottery....
 17. I own squier CV jazz bass. Replaced the pups with Seymour Duncans and can't fault it. I'm a p bass fan but when I occasionally play jazz bass can't get enough of it.
 18. Galloping
 19.
I don't understand what a tug bar is for?
Thumb rest is above the strings, tug bag is under the strings. Same thing slightly different purpose.
 20. Silly thing to put a tug bar on modern p basses. Why not thumb rest when most people use fingers or pick?
 21. I like the bridge. The intonation must be spot on.
 22.
If you're patient you could build... I'm working on a Precision and so far it's cost me:

£52 for the Squier body, neck and a load of parts.
An old Badass bridge I had, but there are decent quality ones on ebay for cheap (even Fender Badass copies for under £50).
£35 for some Shadow pickups (the Squier ones were weak and a shop had this as old stock).
£20 for CTS pots, a Sprague cap and a Switchcraft socket.
£30 for a scratchplate (in a job-lot).
£50 for a Mighty Mite fretless neck, including machines.
£20 for a set of strings.
£10 for a pair of Straplock buttons.
£10 for a 4-hole neckplate with an "F" on it.
£55 for a Hipshot D-tuner (guessing you wouldn't need one of these).
It is a very nice bass! I'll probably replace the body at some point - had been thinking about a Warmoth (as you know from my J-bass thread), the scratchplate isn't the best fit and I might go for better pickups if the mood takes me. The point is, though, that I've made up a good bass for well under your budget, so there's no reason you couldn't too!
Hi, Out if interest, where did you get the parts as I am after a p bass body and p bass neck with tuners for a project.
 23. I'd try zinc, supplement not strings....
