1. I tried the ginex but didn't think it was quite up to it, I thought it was just too short and certainly with crowning I thought it was poor. I bought a diamond crowning file from Stewart McDonald instead and just use 10" block of wood and fine grade sandpaper, which I'm much happier with, get much better results.
2. Hi Basic, greetings from Tipperary, welcome aboard.
3.
Priceless!
Shameless
4. The new ones are crap. The old ones, when they were painstakingly smelted by the hands of wizened craftsmen who only used steel unearthed by their own bare hands, sustained longer, had purer tone and made you more attractive to the opposite sex.
5. "Hang on guys while I whip out ol' Spunky" Hmmm.... I'm not so sure.
6. Get some Black Rose into you.
7.
He nearly ran me and my friends over in London, in 1979. He was in a white Ford Escort. He wound the window down and shouted "f***ing little bastards" A true honour.
I was never a big fan until I had to learn some songs for a band I was in, changed my opinion big time. RIP Philo.
8. Good stuff. Personally, I'd prefer a bit less of a triggered drum sound but that's definitely quality tunage.
9. Nice one, all the best with the gigs!
10. Mega beautiful bass, good luck with the sale
11. Yep, very common. Though to be fair, I went through the opposite when recording a few bands "That'd sound great dirtied up a bit" "The bass?" "Yeah" "Overdriven, you mean?" "Yeah" "Really? Are you sure?"
12. Piggy from Voivod used the guitar version of that in his latter days, it's a very clever design indeed.
13.

Holy crap that is stunning!
14. Having only heard of them through this thread a couple of weeks ago, I am now absolutely dying to hear this album.
15. Yep, did it and love it. I'm going to defret the bass too to really get the most out of it. Didn't need to do anything to the nut but action and truss rod tweaks are a part of life and shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes. Get stuck in.
16.
Sounds like the bass guitar equivalent of eating a veggie burger with cutlery carved from the bones of innocent lambs. One just defeats the point of the other.
What if the lambs were guilty, would that be ok? I don't see the problem, personally, it's a different sound again. Not everyone says "three bags full, Jaco!"
17. Cheers. This id closer to the real colour again but I can't seem to capture the wierd orange glow from it. It's really very orange indeed.
18. You should see it in real life, man, you'll need some goggles to protect your eyes It sounds really nice, I'm genuinely delighted with how it turned out. Got an old set of strings on it while it all settles down, will string it up with new ones soon and really see what it can do. The neck is pretty decent, seems stable enough and it's taken a good setup so it's all good so far.
19. This took a while, I think I got the body seven or eight years ago. Between one thing and another I finally got to get stuck in a few weeks ago and here it is in all it's orange glory. The pic doesn't do it justice at all, if you imagine what radioactive fanta would look like... there you go. I'll take better pics tomorrow in daylight. The specs: one piece ash body painted migraine inducing orange Mightymite one piece maple neck which I spent a lot of time rolling the fretboard edges and got the frets nice and level so it sets up really well, it's very comfy indeed Dimarzio ultra jazzz pickups, bridge pickup in the 70's position Noll TCM3 pre - controls are vol & blend on knob 1, bass & treble cut and boost on knob 2 and mid cut and boost and passive tone control on knob 3, which is activated by push/pull on knob 1. There's a lot going on under the plate. I'm quite chuffed, it plays very nicely indeed and sounds just right.
20. Achtung! Ah I want this so badly but just don't have funds. Good luck with the sale.
21.
Sounds like you've done everything from Rock to Rock
Bravo!
22. My earliest memory in life is listening to my mum's Mothers Of Invention LPs, Absolutely Free and We're Only In It For The Money so, musically, anything goes and that's the way it has always been. I still primarily love rock and Metal and that's a large part of my playing time, but I've never had a change of direction as such, more like having a wander through a different door for a while.
23. One of the more interesting backgrounds Nice bass too!
24. There are not enough green basses. They're really a great looking pair.
