Lakland 55-02 has 19mm spacing, like you I can't really get on with narrow spacing. Give the Lakland a shot.

If your 06 is the same as my 04 then it's an ovangkol neck with a wenge fretboard. The Warwick serial dater should give you the full spec of the bass.

I replaced a broken JANII with a JANIII, very easy, 5 minute job if you're taking your time.

I don't honestly care once it sounds good to start off with. I've got poly, nitro, oil and wax finished instruments and, to be honest, I don't think any one is "better" than the other, tonally or aesthetically.

Have you lowered the baseplate of the bridge as well as the saddles?

I'd say put an a trade ad up and go for a SS1. The LX is nice, but really get an SS1 if you can. Trust me on this

[/quote] This. I still remember hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit for the first time on Raw Power (anyone remember that?) sandwiched between the hairsprayed fluff it destroyed almost overnight.
