  1. There is a great couple for sale here : Or you can use this GREAT lightweight combo (800 Watts RMS) :
  2. Traded a bass with Flavius. You can deal in total confidence. His parcels are also bomb proof. The bass was exactly as described. The communication was excellent too.
  3. ^^^ It's for guitars, not basses, sadly.
  4. It must sound terrific, the batteries are made in Belgium. 🤣
  5. And another superb bass. You can deal in total confidence with Flavius. 👍
  6. Very nice indeed. And Flavius is a very nice person to deal with. His parcels are as good as mine, which means bomb proof. 😉
  7. Marco, don't forget it's my request. Have a nice day around here. 😉
  8. @Linus27 : The colour is Graffiti Yellow, just like Jeff Beck's Stratocaster.
  9. Setting the intonation is MANDATORY when putting new strings. Since when exposed cores are messing with the intonation when the instrument is set-up for thee strings. It's about time to read what you write : truckloads of non sense. Did you ever build an instrument or even know what makes the difference between a crap one and a good one ?
  10. In fact, the problem is way more simple : the copies are way far better than the originals. 😁
  11. Urm, I'm Belgian, living in Belgium and it worked for me.
  12. Talking about strings, exposed cores are always sounding better, piano like and that's the way piano strings are constructed. Just doing maths is not enough, there are other parameters to take into account like : strings alloy, type of core, exposed or tapered core, neck construction, presence of reinforcement in the neck, type of wood, use of carbon, tuning of the wood (classical luthier always do it), neck through, bolt-on neck, type of glue, head angle, type of nut, type of fret, correct fitting of frets, type of pickups (single coils are the best because there's only one string caption point), power of the magnets (the more power, the more attraction, the less free vibration, and even falsing the harmonics), alloy of the saddles, alloy of the bridge, locking saddles, break angle of the strings, mounting of the strings, size of the body, balance of the instrument (if you are fighting with a neck diving, you will absorb energy), playing position (if you hold firmly the rear of the instrument against you, you'll absord energy), ... That makes a lot of parameters, aside from maths ! And after that comes the amplification.
  13. As @Dood said, and as I also wrote, if you want a real test go see a specialist. I do it every year, because my hearing is, to me, utterly important. Thanks to these tests, I know I have an almost linear ear response from 20 Hz (they never go lower, but the way I hear it means that I certainly can go down to 18 Hz) up to 18 KHz, with a left-right hearing difference between 1 to 2 KHz (that ping pong you hear in the test). There's a strength out of this anomaly in the non UK typical response (yours is higher pitched at 2 to 4 KHz, just listen to your talking opposed to a "stranger" and you'll understand) : I'm totally imune to the hi-fi tricks to make a device more pleasant to the ears.
  14. Sold an Acoustic Image Focus 2 head to Robert. Everything went smooth and easy with fast payment. A++++++++ as they say elsewhere.
  15. Done, as I already knew it (a test a year), I still can hear from 20 Hz (hey, I'm a 6 strings bas player) to 16 KHz where it's deacaying around 16736 Hz (by my specialist, my ears go to 18 KHz, but the headphones are suited for these measurements). And I'll be 54 this August. No ear protections, I simply don't go to rock concert since more than 25 years : you know these venues where the guy behind the console is young, deaf, stupid and calling himself a sound engineer ! And when I go to this kind of concert, I just take the low cost earplugs they are giving at the entry or I go home. 🤣
  16. Must be the cardboard hard case pictured that is making the price. 🤗
  17. Do you still use a compressor ? 🤗
  18. I understand, she couldn't stand the permanent neck diving... 🤣
  19. Always sad news. Condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
  20. Funny to read all this as @ixlramp is saying all and its exact opposite with the second harmonic strength (on badly designed basses and poor quality strings) and then suddenly speaking about the pitch of a string according to it's length (so hearing the fundamental). I think that you've never played a Leduc or a real luthier bass (but they are really only a few, sorry). On all the Leduc I've owned or played, which is around 30 basses, the fundamental of each note is present and well heard when played unplugged which is the sign of a well designed instrument. I'm the owner of the Audiokinesis Hathor 18134 cabinet made for the Quake bass, just because I want to be able to hear the low B perfectly reproduced on my system which also includes a Warwick JH PR40 preamp and a GSS Sumo 1000 Watts RMS power amp. This is the system I've been looking for for years to hear the low B as well as all other notes. And if you can't hear at 31 Hz, it's about time to go and see a specialist for an hearing test which I do each year as it's utterly important. If you look at the node of the fundamental of a low B, you'll see that it has twice the power of the second harmonic and so on. I recommend that you read some studies and books about lutherie and talk to a classical luthier as you are mismatching a lot of facts. The quality and construction of a string is another important fact to the tone reproduction. Sorry to be a bit harsh, but it's a bit upsetting to read the same things (to be polite) on fora.
  21. Thanks mate, but who needs money onto a bank account. Put your money offshore onto mine. 😉
