Are there any decent learning resources for Battery, by Metallica? I've been unsuccessful in trying to find the bass score.

Jon has sent a selection of pics of the volume pot, a couple of variations in placement and then a few different knobs… he quite likes the one with the white line.

It didn't make it to rehearsal, but I've tweaked away and sorted the alignment and neck. Not sure about the strings. A couple of them don't even have one complete wind around the tuning peg. I've not owned a short scale bass before, so I'm not sure if the string floppiness is normal?

A few details. The string alignment is not too good when the neck is extended, but this can be adjusted. Also the neck needs a bit of relief. Will give it a bit of a set up during the week.

Because of the lighter body I was worried about neck dive, but Jon doesn't think that will be a problem. I asked if it would be ready before Christmas, and Jon said yes!

IIRC the buy-on for Skid Row, when they supported Bon Jovi on the New Jersey tour back in 1989, was $50,000.00. In that case it was financed by the record company and definately paid off.

I like them, As to why, is it true that more E string between the nut and tuning peg makes a difference?

Paul Geary always seems to have a great bass sound. Plenty of bottom end but always distinct.

Thing is, what is Fender? It's just a brand with the legal right to use the name, and ownership of the original trade-marked blueprints.

It seems to be legit, in that it is properly accredited, but when compared with 3 years intensive full time study, I'm not sure how it can compare
