  3. Jazz supremo Laurence Cottle played bass on The Headless Cross album by Black Sabbath. He's in the video too for the single, but Neil Murray did the tour.

  6. The vocalist in my bands usually have a drink of some description on stage. Totally necessary to keep the vocal cords lubricated.
  7. There was a thread a while ago, where someone reshaped a Cruise bass into a SG type bass. TBF it did look good after.
  8. I've only seen the extended fret board from afar, in places like the Royal Opera House orchestra. Regular readers may know my preference for 'Kubicki' style extended fretboards (see Shukers 1 and 2) but this time I wanted something with tuners, and I showed Jon the db pics and he reckons he can do something similar but more playable.
  9. Loved my Blitz bass, it looked amazing and sounded great. It was just too big for me, I couldn't reach the G tuning peg 😞 Also used to have a Chaparral guitar. Quality 😎

  18. i heard it on Absolute radio this morning, and that verse had been edited out!
  19. those lyrics were written down by Knopfler, almost verbatim from a conversation he overheard, as such he is singing in character. Changing the 'offensive' lyric, not only detracts from the ire towards the person being sung about, but also changes the person being sung about (80's American hair metal type). IMO of course
