2.
Not really because if you were up on your NASA facts, you would be aware of the audio development lab, that you have to admit, does have more than a passing relevance to sound engineering.
now who's fun at parties?
 3. our reheasal studio is still closed for the holidays (or maybe just not answering the phone), so looks like next reheasal not until 15th. It's difficult not telling the guys I have a new bass...
 4. I've got the new strings, I just have to find the time to change them.
 5.
I think my point went over your head. NASA, like everybody else make mistakes... like sound engineers... Again, of course it isn't. It was a comparison between doing a job and getting it right. I bet you're fun at parties.
Nah, comparing sound engineers to NASA can only lead to the afforementioned quip But you are free to think what you like, and I'm not gonna stop you betting.
 6.
NASA are professionals at the top of their game...
not always https://www.google.c...+staff+mistakes and excuse me for being obvious, but putting on a gig is not rocket science!
 7.
^ ... but theres too many numbskulls with no idea about the technicalities of such a show to judge her on that performance. It's clear that her performance is dogged with technical issues, not her ability to sing or not.
numbskull here! No idea about the technicalities, but an educated guess concerning the money and companies involved would suggest the people involved are professionals at the top of their game, performer included, who would have planned; rehearsed; dress rehearsed; and sorted out any problems prior to going live?
 8.
God I know right?! Us white people have been so oppressed the last 200 years or so!
9. With the trouble we are having finding a guitarist, we'd be happy with someone who can play and isn't a tw4t.
 10.
Price drop to £209.99 bump
11. Thanks all for the kind words. If anyone is heading to the LBGS, Jon will be an exhibitor, and I'll be taking this to him for a tweak after it has been played in a bit. So if you want to see it in the flesh and have a go, let me know
 12.
That is simply awesome mate! You must be one happy bunny? We'll need a photo with it's sibling, of course... Eude
yup, Jon has again excelled himself. I'll try get a pic of Camille and Kennerly up at some point. At the moment I'm playing lots of bass Next rehearsal isn't until 8 January, so I'll report back what it's like at volume.

 14.
Looks good...having seen the "original" I've got to say I prefer this....
Thanks. I prefer the neck and its lighter
 15.
That looks killer! How does the D tuner thingy work? Looks like two additional wee frets?
A spring loaded 'hook' pulls down on the string behind the fret for open E. I release the hook, pull the string out, the hook disappears into the body, and I have open D.
 16.
Did some poking around on TB and found this thread - https://www.talkbass...ever-read.6614/ I see their website is no more... On page 2 ZanderStarr replies to defend his Band!
I only read page 2, but amongst all the rhetoric he does make some valid points.
 17. Where's the link? I may apply
 18. A last minute gig came through, so was unable to pick up on 23rd December. I'm picking it up tomorrow!
 19. Does this mean my collection of Metal Hammer's from the 80's will increase in value?
 20. The Gonads - I lost my love to a UK Sub.
 21. So, I took it band practice on Saturday. I can state it is good for metal lol. The guys were a bit freaked out when I turned up with the little triangular case, and preceded to fold the neck in to position :-) The band tune to Eb, but the string floppiness makes it impracticable, so I tuned to F and set the whammy on my multi fx to detune a tone. It worked, but tuning had to be spot on (including guitarist) tuning by ear was not enough, which was difficult as the strings are still stretching. It's not as light as you may think, 2.8 kg (6.17 pounds) according to the website but it feels heavier, I'll do a weighing later. For me there was a certain amount of technique adjustment. I'm a finger player and used to playing with a ramp and thumbrest that runs from the bridge to the neck. This only has the pup surround to anchor my thumb on, and no upper body to rest my forearm on. I played with a pick for a couple of songs, and reckon initially a pick player would get on with it quicker. My Shuker(s) are medium scale so playing a shortscale came naturally, although I do miss the upper frets. The single coil pickup has good output, not too bass heavy but cuts through nicely with enough bottom end. The tone control is actually quite usable, My sweet spot is dialing it back about 20%. I love the neck, profile wise it's between a P and J, but a tad flatter. I can post some songs if anyone is interested, but they were recording on an iphone in rehearsal so the quality is not too hot. This has been designed so that you can take it as hand luggage while flying, then gig with it at the other end. I would happily gig with it, and it's a space-saving back up bass, and utterly convenient to transport to rehearsals. Quality wise there's nothing to worry about, at least there won't be once I've changed the strings! It's great at home for noodling about on, because it's just so convenient. I'll make sure to take it to the next Bass Bash I go to, but if any Basschater in that London wants a go, let me know.
 22. Alice Cooper, has the song 'Poison'. The band Poison, are yet to release a song called 'Alice Cooper'.
 23. Here's a pleasant way to while away a few minutes and get you thinking. Bands, who had songs that were the same as the band name. I'll go first: Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden Talk Talk - Talk Talk Madness - Madness
