1.
Bloody hell, that's a good price.
Euro is 71p today.
2.
Don't forget you can ask Adrian to upgrade the tuners if you do not want the standard one. He offers Hipshot for not much more.
I wanted to keep the price down so I took the standard bass, worked out at just over £600.
3.
Thanks! And when you say the tuners are on the flimsy side, would you say comparable to standard Fender tuners, or flimsier than that?
The bass is lighter than a Fender so the tuners must be made of thinner material to keep the neck from diving.
4. My bass is the red Jake in the video clip from the previous thread.
5. It's very hard to describe these things. I would say it's not as thin as some modern basses but it's far from old school chunky. Somewhere in between, again perfect for me.
6. I have the single pick-up version just like a good old P bass. I replaced Adrians pickup with a Dp122 that has more growl and output. Adrians pickups are very clean and I just wanted to rough it up abit. Also put flat wounds on for a mellow vibe. The fret ends are finished to a high standard and I can't fault the workmanship. The only thing I don't like are the tuners as they feel a little cheap. Something has to give for the price. The neck is somewhere between a jazz and a P, just feels perfect for my hands. Hope this helps.
7. I really love my Jake. Better than a Fender and around half the price with the Euro about 0.72p. I'm saving for an Elwood. Got serious GAS
8.
I think it's just the way it's done on TB, with people having numbers & listing their individual club memberships in their signatures like a bunch of great big trainspotting Wendys.
Well said.. can I be Wendy number 1. :-)
9. I'm half way there with my Jake. An Elwood might appear next month.
10. Count me in as a Maruszczyk user. This is my Jake, a P Bass type in Fiesta Red. I've put a replacement pickup and a Parallel / series switch in to create a few sound options. They was nothing wrong with Adrians original pickup I just wanted a different vibe. Build quality and materials are good and the sound is fantastic..... a very easy player. I believe Adrian builds quality instruments without the silly custom ticket prices. His website lists what's in stock and new versions of his basses are added when they become available. If you want something specific he can build you YOUR bass. I just picked one from the list of in stock basses and I'm very pleased with what I got. Next purchase is going to be a Elwood or Jazzus ....... To much choice I have nothing to do with Adrian, Im just a very satisfied customer. Check out........ 11. If you use the humbucker pickup only does it still buzz?
12. Can I ask... Are you wearing your bass and it is pluged into the amp ? Does it have single coil pickups ?
13. I would check out... http://www.public-peace.de/index.php/maruszczyk-instruments/mi-bass/jake I've just bought a Jake from Adrian Maruszczyk. Pronounced ma roos check. It's a great bass with amazing build quality for the money as the Euro is about 0.72p at the moment.
14. And answered. Please note that the postage is for UK only. European buyers please make contact to discuss postage options. Thanks
15. I have a Maruszczyk Jake and the build quality is excellent. Have a bump on me.
