    Hope it’s broadcast in dubley. The dvd with in-character commentary from the early 2000s is a gem. They spend a lot of time reminiscing about shampoo “I was using an 2 in 1” and eBay.

    All depends on who has to miss the gig. Mr Harrison is one of the main draws for the band, a non-original, touring band member missing some shows isn’t the same.

    Currently at a euro camp in France and this is better than 90% of the music they insist on blaring out the poolside speakers. They had a weird dance remix of Valerie and dancing in the moonlight to soundtrack the aqua rugby session yesterday. Help.

    Such a great setup for someone to learn on. I bet this beats the first bass/amp of 99% of folks on here. It certainly beats mine! I was only permitted a battery powered marshall mini stack thing to plonk away through when I was 12.

    I find it to harder to navigate around quickly on this new site. I actually used to value being able to see thumbnails at a glance on the old site to have a quick scan of new items, I don’t think that’s possible anymore. Some more shortcuts to filters on the landing pages for accessories like strings would help. “Show me all 4 string sets” or something. When I open strings I get 8 pages of results and a massive number of filters, it’s overwhelming tbh. I open it and click away as it feels like too much work to find my way around.

    I generally go down a gauge with flat wounds for the same reason. The tension is a killer. I tried some roto 45-105 and had to take them off as I couldn’t play them. Sticking to ti flats for the time being.

    My cat needs no additional equipment to be a more effective psychopath. Todays count is a record 3 dead birds, lovingly dismembered for our attention. Maybe I should get her a bright wig to make her more obvious.

    I watched most of this. Enjoyed the archive compilation a lot. Alex James is a genuinely really inventive player. His lines are busy but don’t sound like he’s overplaying or getting in the way. The recent concert was high energy but everything sounded too fast. Put it down to the energy on the night I suppose.

    I bought vip tickets (wedding anniversary treat) and it was a total waste of money. We went to the vip area and it was too far from the stage! Went down to stage front where there was still loads of room, much better sound. Toilets, bars, food etc all far beyond what I’ve seen at these sort of events before for standard admission. No need to pay the extra. It was one of the most relaxed, grown up gigs and audience I’ve been to. Plenty of kids and babies in pushchairs around the site. Felt like a gig for members of the national trust (if you know what I mean).

    Sigur ros. On the mount at Wasing. Beautiful outdoor venue. All wildflowers and smell of joss sticks burning away. Great sound, loads of clarity and power. Band were superb. Bass wise, so much power in hitting a simple whole note with loads of compression and octaver. Rattles your insides. All about building the soundscapes.

    The internet tells me ampeg made a similar design in the 1960s for guitar or bass. These looks new! I think you’re correct these are custom from someone, probably ashdown.

    Dave’s voice isn’t quite what it used to be. He’s got the charisma to carry it off though. I wonder what Nate is playing through. Not an ashdown, some kind of 9x10 cab.
