  1. Why do all debates on here seem to end up talking about Milli Vanilli? We just can't let it lie.
  2. Typical no news article, the quotes probably aren’t even true. Can’t blame him wanting nothing to do with Queen these days. Their forays with new singers and now this terrible film. Wrote some iconic bass lines, made huge money, happy family, golf everyday, no TV work or touring to worry about. He’s living the dream.
  3. Adjusts amp mid Havona solo, then totally nails it. There’s a man comfortable performing live
  4. Ashamed to say never seen McBride on electric before, what a performance. Thanks for posting
  5. At least you’d only need to learn 3 chords
  6. Basic question here - if I wanted to install 16-7mm spaced bridge on 4 string jazz, is there any impact on volume and / or tone? Wasn't sure how essential it was for strings to pass through the centre of the pole pairs on single coils (assumed default design based on 19mm) , or if this varied across manufacturers.. Or is any difference so slight you wouldn't notice?
  7. I use the app Band across a few different groups, no system is perfect but works better for us than alternatives. Used for calendar invites (it auto adds to your google / phone calendar) plus polls (say on setlist or rehearsal dates). Plus ability to upload images useful for lead sheets. Yes, can replicate much on gmail or WhatsApp but crucially here it’s all 1 place , no scrolling through messages or inboxes, nothing gets missed (in theory).
  8. You're right they've split the ranges. I know Guitar Guitar does Metro and Satin Deluxe. Camden store has a beautiful deluxe currently on show. Bass Direct don't handle Satin, but do deal with Satin Deluxe orders and beyond. Edit: - spoke with Sadowsky. Satin range only available direct from them in USA. A shame as import tax defeats the price point. They are however selling Satin Deluxe through UK dealers.
  9. That’s interesting. Never got on with active basses, but similarly have hankered after the Will Lee for a while, mainly neck & brand. Will check a Suhr if I can find one anywhere.. Seems very few passives in the ‘super jazz’ camp. Can anyone recommend passive (super) jazzes worth checking? And anyone out there had a passive J bass built from a normally ‘active’ luthier?
  10. Yes spotted this too - looks interesting, speccing out a factory fit bass. Some choice options omitted - colours, neck types etc - but helps counter the very limited options if you're in the market for a new Fender. And rosewood still? Annoyingly although visible here, currently US orders only..
  11. Thought the show was the best it's been in a while. Joe Hubbard and Gary Willis masterclasses were great. Always nice how unpretentious the show is - stars like Yolanda, Guy Pratt, Bobby Vega hanging out and happy to speak to people. Discovered some cool independents too - German luthier Oliver Lang, and new UK pedal co Flattley. Never enough fretless of course.. but was worth the ticket price this year.
  12. Take me back to the good old days - Brits'87 host Jonathan King, best british group 5Star https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Brit_Awards_ceremonies
  13. Well spotted! I’d forgotten about this until after the pics went up In typical fashion I found the screw at the time and put it somewhere so safe I can’t now locate. I’ve been in touch with the nice folk at Babicz and there is a replacement winging its way to me.
  14. Hi Paul - no hardcase, but bass will be fully packaged and insured for shipping.
  15. Yes still available, just been slack on the bumps of late
  16. Have gig 15/12 in East London. For various reasons we can’t get our usual PA there, but the organiser happy to pay for hire. Need hire, delivery and collection. Are there any firms people out there have tried and tested?
