1. Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass And I just happen to have one here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=126538 Sure we can sort something out if your interested , drop us a PM
2. Hardly used Fender Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass Really good condition currently strung with flats, although I have some rounds if you would prefer. You know how good these are , and to prove it, heres someone playing one ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=spYUJDgutkA Ideally looking for pickup on this as I only have a soft bag for it , although may be able to work out something postage wise. Have sorted out some packaging etc so , should be no problem posting now , see amended price.
3. If your not confident about the PC route you could always go for a Roland VS2480 , which is a far more traditional hands on mixer feel , almost bullet proof. Our sax player has one we recorded a few tracks a couple of years ago , came out ok I thought, you can have a listen or watch the video here to get an idea. 4. I use a Mac and Logic , and the Focusrite is a lovely sounding unit. If however you are using Sonar , have a look here , http://www.focusrite.com/answerbase/en/article.php?id=1076 and judge for yourself whether you think you are capable of getting your head around setting it up . Also I would advise you just to do a quick search on the Cakwalk Sonar forums to check for any issues relating to using the Focusrite with Sonar. As I say I cant judge what it works like with Sonar , but I'm sure with the current drivers you wouldn't have many issues!
5. I will add my thanks as well to John for offering great products and great service. I chatted via email about a Marcus retro for my miller bass , and finally decided on calling in on John well on the way to doing some work in London. Left my bass with him for a few days , and on the way back home picked up the miller , all done fitted and tested by the man himself! I can highly recommend the Marcus Retro for any miller owners , it really does give you pretty much any tone you want ! Thanks for all your work John , much appreciated.

Apple Mainstage

Must have a go at this time . although I think I would have to have it switched to from pedalboard via Boss ls2 pedal or something i think. All I can say is that our keyboardist only uses Mainstage live now , two controller keyboards and a laptop , Rhodes pianos , strings samples you name it its all triggered from mainstage , and it all just works , bloody amazing if you ask me !

A/B foot switches

I know its powered , but I am quite impressed with my boss Ls2 pedal purely because it has many uses , plus I find the being able to adjust the volume levels independently is really handy for if one effect sucks too much out of the signal. Other than that I use a unpowered LOOP pedal , which maybe what your after , which I use to quite literaly take out the effect board altogether ,and give me back my clean untouched bass tone . Again the LS2 is handy with balancing the effect board level to the cleaned bass looped level if that makes sense.
8. Give you a bump for a great bass I was dabbling on mine yesterday , and it always brings a smile to my face. Great for slapping , rock , r n b , it will do most things well . Bags of tone live and in the studio , in fact my mate wont let me record with anything else in his studio , its always " make sure you bring the red one !" So ladies and gents , don't shy away because it says Yamaha, these are truly great instruments , and this one looks to be in immaculate condition! Good luck with the sale , although if it was me I'd be hanging to it !!!!
9. Well took your advise gentlemen and fired her up last night at practice . Lets just say SHAKE , RATTLE and ROLL !!!! . Monstrous sound , yeh the boys started grimacing when I dialled her up Cheers for the link to that site SS73 , great little place. Just off to re-plaster the practice room now !
10. Getting my old 73 Ampeg back soon after a bit of a service , just wondered if there would be any problems trying my EBS Proline 4x10 from my other rig with it. I can switch the Ampeg down to 4ohms , not quite sure how much it pushes out being a valve , but the EBS throws out 800watts at 4ohms. Any advise greatly appreciated. Cheers
11. Just recieved Ls2 pedal , no worries. Cheers Gaf
12. Well mine didn't sound right at a gig the other week ,and is now in for a service , so had to resort to dragging out my old solid state Ohm amp from under the van seat. I think I bought that Ohm back in 1986 bless her, she sprung into life , and I managed to finish the gig , the sound wasn't the same but hey ho !
13. What a top bloke . Just taken delivery of Andy's BB605 . I only enquired on the off chance that he may still have it , just took him on his word no pics nothing. It duly arrived as he said , absolutely immaculate. Many thanks Andy Cheers Nigel
14.
Have you turned the monitor mute off? Garageband automatically turns it on to protect against feedback, you need to maually de-select it sometimes
Yeh thats probably it , down on the right hand corner
15. Just out of interest , have you tried taking the headphone output from the iMac straight to your stereo monitor amp ?

Mac ponderings

Haven't done it myself , but Garageband apparently excepts AU instruments or you can get a converter from Fxpansion I think Battery comes in a AU format so you should be able to use this as a software instrument and carry just as you did before. Hope that is of some help.
17. I quite like those keys at the end. So could you explain in layman terms exactly what you have going on here ? Are the sounds from the Logic Pro vst instruments
18. Well I'm trying ! We have tried to change the complete set for this year from soul based to more 70's funk based . Usual things apply , logistics , trying to get 10 people together is always a headache. Plus depending on what stuff your doing it ain't necessarily the easiest of stuff to play to get to sound right. I'll keep you posted
19. Still got mine from the 80's , 4 string fretted, originally bought to take over from my Fender Precision as i was playing a lot of slap back then and having the Fender strapped high up meant I was doubled over with back ache by the end of the gig and the Aria was a lot lighter. Small reasonably light guitar thin-ish fast neck. The pickups went a bit micoscopic (squealy) a few years back , so I left the front pick up in place and routed out the back one and had fitted a Seymour Duncan Musicman pick up and 3 band active electronics , which gave it a real Musicman clank to the sound . Have wondered about taking the frets out myself but haven't got round to it, should imagine it would be good as a fretless. Must dig her out and give her a clean and new strings and practice my Duran Duran John Taylor pose , ha , ha !!!
