2.
They certainly used to. Do a search for "Limelight" on here & see how many of them have Fender decals
sure - but who added them ? I dont see any on their site with them
3.
Totally this. It's only other musicians who notice. I've never understood how the likes of Limelight can legally sell an instrument with another companies logo, but that's another thread.
they dont - limelight dont put fender decals on. They may make replicas but they are surely wary of being accused of passing off
4.
Quite surprised no one has mentioned strings yet. Do you have rounds or flats on there? Flats would make it less bright
The original poster did, in his original post "I've already tried flatwounds on it (which I didn't really like), and pure nickel strings, neither of which had that much of an efffect." there will be a test later, lollipops for those who score high
5. Jazz basses can sound like that - I recommend split coil humbukcers in jazz bass dimensions -bonus is they'll be quiet
6. That I did not know, thank you Perhaps I'll post the riff as I see it here and you kind folks can constructively criticise it
7. Thanks - I was referring to the tab sites with regard to being flamed. I've seen some fruity comments there and I'm really not in the right place for getting some
8. You can stick a brass plate on the headstock; I used to use a guitar one called a fathead Here you go http://www.guitarsite.com/newsletters/990816/10.shtml
9. I purposely put one in my 75 replica - it has el cheapo internet pickups; everyone loves the sound and it's totally quiet noise-wise so either the copper plate adds something in sound, mass or resonance or it's a totally amazing bass anyway and adds nothing. It doesn't harm it; so I suggest putting it in. It was good enough for Leo
10. Isn't John east a member on here ?
11. this is what I found- its not right https://www.songster...s-tab-b-s367438 .
12. It's literally the only time I get Dave With an irig or vox amp it works
13. Thanks for the kind words, guys
14.
+1. Great bass line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdFRfNjnDjA
On my must-learn list
15. I just don't want to get flamed, but I honestly don't think it can be any worse than the one that was there. There simply weren't enough notes to be even close. what was it ? Pretty small beer for the gigging uber-fretmeisters around here, but for me (kids, long hours at work, no practice time at home), a significant win; "silver and gold" off U2 rattle and Hum album, including all the staccato notes, the riff and the slides.
16. I would be all over this if I was still on the Dark Side.
17. i also run the cycle of fifths round in my head, forming each scale in turn. ** ** this can also helps if you can't sleep ...
18. i keep a bass in my car, if I get time at luncthime I go out and practice
19. i keep a bass in my car in the hope that one day, I will get some child free practice time in my-ever-shorter lunch break. It rarely happens, but today it did and I looked up the bass tab for a song I listened to on the way in to work this morning. It looked wrong and it truly was once I tried it. It was woeful. Bu tthen I figured it out, and I can count on the fingers on hand the number of times I have done this successfully, but today I did it. I'm toying wih the idea of uploading my correct-er version.
20. Awesome look - that's the mid brown A few mis angled screws is actually a pretty good fit when it's aftermarket
21.
I don't understand open mic nights. Getting up with some random musicians playing random stuff would be my worst nightmare
i find it hugely exciting for the spontaneity. You get chatting to someone , narrow it down to a few titles that you both can live with, knock it through twice in thr corridor and do it as best you can. Its a real challenge and if people tap their, feet, dance, say they lked it then thats a huge bonus
22.
Some 'Old People' pass-times I've noticed are; Driving very slowly, especially during rush hour. Paying for the weekly shop in 2p pieces. Asking for a full ingredients and cooking process breakdown whilst ordering a pub lunch. These all look like splendid fun.
You forgot "being rude to the nice lady in the post office/supermarket/pharmacy about things that aren't actually their fault"
23.
Mind me asking who the teacher you used is....? I'm thinking of getting a few 'improver' lessons (I'm in Nottingham)
Not at all Kev at zebra musik in Ilkeston although that was a few years ago Chris at crazy train in annesley more recently
