1. Earth, Wind and Fire were formed in the late 60's. The band name came about after the founding members spent the night in a ditch, after a particularly bad session of Lager and Vindaloo.
 2.
It's just transitional but to help clarity, they will use Halogen lighting.
Transitional? Is that any good for Metal? We always have to ask that question on BC.
 3.
I think we have to put this all in context. <Snipped> Frankly, I am envious. I was there in the sixties but I wasn't there. Everything else is white noise.
I think you've put this into context. I was also there in the sixties but I also wasn't there. It was big here, but much bigger there. We did not have Ed Sullivan or even AM radio, or stadium concerts. I do remember one of the few live Beatle appearances on TV, think it was a Royal Variety Performance, everyone crowded around a snowy black and white TV set in the local working men's club, tuned to one of the two availble TV channels. I could have stayed home and listened to the Light Program. But hey, they soon had their own radio show on Luxy. Sunday night if I remember. Was a loooong time ago. They changed everything for me.
 4. J. Geils Band self titled first album. Forget the commercial new wave 80s Centerfold soft rock stuff, this album is real R&B/Blues mix.
 5. Alice Coopers' massive hit single 'Eighteen', was really about Argon.
 6.
And why not. They've had an actor.
They've had a plank before now also.
 7. In other news.... "Kanye for president: could his beautiful dark twisted fantasy come true?..." http://www.theguardi...EMCNEWEML6619I2
 8. Jumpin' Jack Flash was written by Jagger/Richards in a school chemistry lesson, after studying the Periodic Table. They had mixed Hydrogen gas with Chlorine gas. It was a gas,
 9. Jean Michel Jarre's instrumental 'Oxygene' was originally titled Neodymium, but he thought that title to be less attractive than Oxygene,
 10.
The Yes song "Roundabout" was about junction 7 of the M6.
"Close To The Edge" was the album title chosen by Bill Bruford, before leaving Yes to be president of The Flat Earth Society.
 11.
Peter Gabriel and Heaven 17 are collaborating on a version of Robbie's "Angel".
George Michael was 'otherwise engaged' and could not collaborate.
 12. I wonder if the small 'D' stamp is only for Thomanns use, it hardly discourages passing them off as non-dekos, it is very faint on my prog 4. I note all the ebay items have HB tags/barcodes attached. I don't think any of my dekos had, I do have a tag and it must have came from my only non-deko.
 13.
My deko acoustic bass is here and seems totally fine apart from fret buzz up around the 12th to 14th frets on the D and G strings. I've tried adjusting the truss rod in both directions but it isn't helping - any advice here? Not sure how to adjust the bridge?
Are you checking the relief as you adjust the truss rod? No point otherwise. I'd check frets are level before messing with the bridge. The action is quite high, I would imagine, so this is not likely to be a major cause of buzz.
 14.
It's probably a high fret, as that appears to be the most common issue on the acoustics. On mine the 17th fret was sitting a little too high on the treble side
Same problem with mine, the 17th fret was loose on the treble side and had lifted. I pushed it down - needs careful application of superglue which I've not got around to yet, but the buzz has gone.
 15.
Would that have enough data? It could probably be achieved in Excel. Multiple tables aren't really needed.
I suspect enough data could be collected to make it useful. Excel is a pain in the arse, if you don't have it or don't like it. Online would be more useful. Because multiple tables are available, they don't have to be used. (besides, the best way to learn a new skill is to develop something workable having a defined objective. I did a project with php, which was a new skill for me. I would have liked to have used Python for this but the server did not run it too well). I think the idea of nut width as an example is useful. Often it is not given and even a few mm makes a difference to me. (Scale length on the other hand makes little difference - I can easily swap between 30-32-34" and play all equally badly) Not so sure about pocket dimensions as I think you'd need a drawing to check if you replacement neck would fit. Then there is the pickguard minefield..... and bass weight, which would be useful
 16.
Unfortunately my PB-20 was delivered to a neighbour who denies all knowledge of it...
Happened to me once, the sh*t next door would not answer the door, I knew they were in. Called the delivery company (don't remeber who it was), they sent a driver out within a couple of hours and he retrieved it. If this does not work for you, kill them.
 17. you heard what! through the grapevine?
 18. Presumably due to having purchased a TC Polytune, I was invited to take part in one of their surveys. It seems the survey is badly designed, I cannot proceed without adding incorrect information! Oh well, I don't suppose I would win anything - never do!
 19.
This comment nails it for me. ...
For me also. I probaly heard all their previous albums within days of their original release. Tosh? Keef has probably never played a Pink Floyd album then!
 20.
Who knows where the time goes?
Original title: 'Ballad of Time'
 21.
I used the space bar, and got 905.
Try the enter key it wobbles less. . Mouse 843, Space 885, Enter 941
 22.
So many progressives up recently! Everyone will have one at this rate!
Regret buying one now, it's killed my GAS stone dead (But I could get another, I suppose....)
 23.
Looking again at my black Progresiv I was wanting to make a small adjustment to the intonation. I found there is no longer screw through the saddle. It seems it is fixed. No reason why it can't be changed though I guess.
I fitted one of these (Gotoh clone) from Northwestguitars, about £15. Holes don't line up but all the original holes are covered. Need fitting with care to get the strings central on the neck.
 24.
....and Lord Lucan...
...which is where Frank Zappa got the idea for a lead filled snow shoe from.
 25.
Fats Dominoes never caught on, as they were too big to be all held in the hands.
I'm pretty sure Oscar Peterson, who could play tenths, played with Fats Dominoes.
