  1. I agree. I’ve used zoom lots and mostly use a B3n live or a B1four for travelling light. Never had an issue with durability. It’s also often mentioned in reviews of Behringer pedals. They may have had some issues but you’d have to be pretty heavy footed to break one of the cases!
  2. So what’s the deal with no tone knob? Is this the same set up as on the HB Mustangalikes?
  3. Welcome! Talking of The Cure was cool to hear ‘A Forest’ used in the soundtrack of Lockwood and Co on Netflix!
  4. Nick, that is very beautiful thing. If I didn’t have two Rics already I’d be on this!
  5. I use one as main head with Stray and The Verity Bromham band. I’ve had the valve version for ages and just picked up the mosfet version, which was being knocked out at a stupid low price. I prefer the mosfet version and I couldn’t really imagine me ever needing more volume. Great little heads.
  6. I’ve got a 2016 4003 that I use with Stray. Build quality is absolutely faultless. Is the build quality thing something that affects mainly older Riks? Anyone out there had build quality problems with a Rik from say, the last ten years?
  7. Tempted!
  8. What he said, great amps. Alternatively, if you don’t mind weight and used, try a Hartke LH500 or 1000. Loads of heft and clean valve warmth.
  9. My trousers said no bit fortunately she said yes!
  10. I think you mean Firebird sir! Had me somewhat confused for a minute!
  11. Yeah that’s right
  12. Just arrived home from Skegness where we was playing with the Verity/Bromham band. I kept things simple, Squier Jazz into a Zoom b1fourx (just compression) then into the house SVT Classic and 8x10. Best tone evaaaaaaah! We went down a storm and I won the prize for the lariest trousers. Even had a guy come up on stage and propose to his Girlfriend! Happy Daze!
  13. I’ve had a few. The best one I’ve had was an American Standard with the S1 switch, sunburst with maple board. Wish I’d kept it. Second was an export model CIJ Sunburst/Rosewood export model. Currently enjoying my AVRI 64 reissue but a recently acquired MIC Classic Vibe in Inca silver is rapidly gaining respect!
  14. The finish can be quite rough and sharp depending on how it's applied, so probably best to practice on some scrap before you start on the bass.
  15. I’ve thought about doing this to a cheapo, embedding stuff in the paint and turning it into a goth/steampunk type thing. Actually as typing I remembered it wasn’t tuffcab I was thinking about but a heavy duty non silicon based sealant. Can’t remember what it’s called now but used some recently to bodge a fix on a sink waste. Well impressed with the stuff!
  16. I recently bought one of those from here in Inca Silver. It’s a bit heavier than this one but I absolutely love it. They really are all they’re cracked up to be GLWTS
  17. Gorgeous basses. I’ve got one with a different top. Nice and light too.
  18. Had some interest but it’s still available. Having done some research, this is the version with a gentle eq baked in and not the flat version.
  19. Was the gain turned right down? I know on my tube version, the clip light can come on with the gain zeroed. I had a bit of a panic at a gig once u til I realised what I had done
  20. Glad I don’t live near Stockport!
  21. Wonder if they’ll bring one out with a glitter finish . . . . . . .
