1. Shame the sandberg is called basic and has an awful headstock!
 2.
I picked up the ShuttleMax12.2 in the GAK deal..... It's monstrously loud.... I've had a fair chance to play around with it now and I'm really liking the sound, it's incredibly versatile and for what I paid it's a hell of a lot of amp.
Agreed. If you barter with GAK/etc they will probably knock it down a bit more. Saying that, £599 is INCREDIBLY good value for what the amp does. If I didn't have the Max 9.2 I would buy one.
 3. Ay, just go the whole hog and get a 12.2/9.2.
 4. Get the Genz whilst its on offer!
 5. If I didn't get a Genz in the sale I would be after a 2x12...the TKS gear is amazing! As for cabs, that is me done now. I'm actually (finally) get bored of tweaking.
 6. Finally got myself a Microkorg XL + from GAK (great prices at the moment and they did a package deal). It's been a long time since I lodged an interest in starting to play with synths, but I'm finally there.
 7.
When I had one, my passive P Bass into the TB500 would definitely break up soon past nine. As Lozz said, by 2 you're into serious Lemmy territory. Would it be worth asking them to switch it for another?
+1 If its new, ask for another. Especially if you've only just got it.
 8. Seems like an expensive option! Unless you want to use the iPad for other applications. I'd just try to perhaps slim down the folder/charts and have the music stand to one side.
 9.
I don't like the way they look stacked if they are not all the same width, height I can cope with .
Ay visually its a mess.
 10.
Oh right! I found the finish on the new cab to be very similar to that used by BareFaced!
Did we get the same cab??!?! Haha. Mine is covered in a quite thick black textured tolex. Very smooth.
 11. I think it depends where you want your mids! There is more of a low mid bump in the NX2, so where it would 'punch' and sound forceful instead of providing the more mid mid or high mid detail. To be honest though, as the Ed Friedland review shows, it is a very balanced cab compared to many. If you put sucked mids in, you will get sucked mids out.
 12.
Hey Gareth can you compare it to your trusted db212?
Hiya! Not had chance yet but good idea! The NX2 is much lighter and much easier to move!!!
 13.
I'd say that the fact that there are a couple of negative comments about the cabs on this thread will not be helping the resale...
The thread will be forgotten in time. It's the same as people saying you can't sell a Stingray for a decent price. You CAN, if you are patient and its been looked after. There are so many single H Black Rays, its unreal, but a sunburst HH Ray with matching headstock? Changes everything. Supply/demand. Notice how BF Gen 2 cabs used to be snapped up VERY quickly? Not so much now as the market is becoming flooded.
 14.
They would be worth what the market decides. The only way to know the figure if for someone to try and sell one at, say £500. See if someone buys it. I know where you are coming from, and it is interesting, I paid £500 for a prev model neox212t. That was once a £800 cab too, but I'd not expect to get more than about £300 for it. I base that figure on my usual calculation of 2/3 of the shop price at the time. This usually seems to be about right. So, valuing yours at £300 I am actually being generous in my calculation given what you paid for it. Ethically, if someone tries to sell one at a price which is too high, no one will buy it. Personally if I had just bought one of these at £380 and wanted to sell it now, I'd want £300.
£300 is not, IMO, generous. I like my cab and I'm happy to have found a neo cab that ticks all the boxes and isn't £800-1000. For that reason, selling it isn't an issue for me as I won't be selling it. This type of sale also happened with Tecamp, with GuitarGuitar selling £900 neo 2x12s for about £400. Notice how now the supply/demand has changed and a Tecamp would bring about £600 second hand, at least, in good condition. The Neox/NX2 has always been a popular cabinet, and always £700-800. It will no doubt continue to be made by Fender. We shall see what the prices change to. You do realise that £300 would probably not even cover the cost of the drivers in some circumstances? We are talking fairly high end faital neodymium drivers. Neo is still expensive. If Conan wants to sell for £500, I would not think this is a sneaky way to make profit, its just he was lucky to snag a good cab at a low price.
 15.
Oh absolutely! The problem is that my amp (a Hartke LH500) is hardly noted for its ability to chuck out mids. My main bass is a Fender J and I prefer to have both pickups on full. Again, a bit of a mid-range desert! Add to that my use of a BDI21 and you start to see the problem that the new cab is up against! That said, under identical conditions, my Compact always sounded rich and full. Why can I never just be happy with what I have?? Damn you GAS!!
Wow, that is a mid desert! You are literally sucking mids at every point. I'm finding the cab is extremely balanced but there is a small low mid bump. I am shocked that a 1x15 had more mid punch than a 2x12 with drivers that are on par, especially as the 2x12 is voiced more to punch through. I tried a Compact a while back and it could seriously throw out some low end, but it missed the definition I'm used to, hence it didn't work for me. The other thing that confuses me is the BF tend to promote that it's cab that gives you what you put in, so no mids is no mids, with no particular voicing of the cab changing that. That said, everyone has different tastes so if it doesn't work move it on With regards to price, the cab is £720-740 new. It's upto you how you play it. You were quick to order so if you make profit, you make a profit. If you don't want to do that on here, that's fair play. It might seem more moralistic to sell on eBay etc. Saying that, there are some lurkers on here who post new basses every now and then but they mainly sell basses and amps that they've definitely picked up cheaper. We are probably funding their new gear.
 16. Just the standard padding, no board.
 17.
how's the fit of your cover ? Mine is slightly too long so touches the floor on the front & sides,i may return mine so they can shorten it a tad.
It does touch the floor a little but the wheels are free to move. To be honest I'd rather it be a little longer as if protects it when sliding into boots, etc
 18. Roqsolid cover arrived. What a fantastic company! These guys put a lot of our Brit companies to shame. Excellent service and great cover.
 19.
Mine used to break up if I went anywhere past 9 o`clock on the gain, using a regular US Precision. Doesn`t sound right to me, being able to get to 2 o`clock - I`d expect to out-Lemmy Lemmy on that setting.
Plus 1, something isn't right.
 20.
ahh cool thanks. Well when I use the overdrive i'd like to get louder anyway so I guess it isn't too much of a problem. Is there a problem using bass OD pedals with a single tube inside infront of a bass amp with a tube pre such as the streamliners? What i'm getting at is, would the tube OD in the pedal still effect and "heat up" the tubes in the pre on the Genz? Again I hope that made sense LOL
Probably will It will push your gain into the amp if the pedal is set up with a hot output No problem putting a pedal into a Streamliner.
 21.
Thanks Can you have the gain switch on and set to clean with a little bit of dirt and then use an overdrive pedal to push it? Or alternatively have the gain switch off and do the same thing? having a high gain signal going into it. Would this be like having the gain switch turned on? I hope that made some sort of sense...
You could but the overall volume would increase
 22.
What tubes are used in the Streamliners? Has anyone replaced there's for different results? Would like some nice tube grind to my tone if possible.
Mine are stock. For pretty gnarly tube grind: Have the gain button pushed in; Lower the volume (left hand volume) to almost off; DIME the gain. Then, bring the left hand volume up a touch, and use master for the actual volume. If you don't have the left volume down, it may be incredibly loud!
 23.
Got mine set to 12 o'clock at the moment... haven't had a full volume test yet though, I'll have a tweak around with it when I get the chance.
I'm finding just a touch sounds great! Very clear tone. Despite the odd issues with screws, I still think these are exceptional cabinets.
 24. How much are you guys dialing the tweeter in?
 25. I have never played in anything that is purely 'metal', as I always have and always will much prefer anything that is punk/hardcore orientated when it comes to more aggressive music. One of the things that I really dislike about most the metal bands I've heard is the guitar sound. QOTSA are by no means a metal band, at all, but a good idea of what I think a heavy guitar sound should be...eg not totally overdriven, warm, crunchy, and I guess more traditional. The poor reception bass players get in metal is probably why I much prefer modern punk, (see Rancid, A Wilhelm Scream, NOFX).
