I've had some great bargains, but a lot of them are to do with haggling that anything else. The main proper bargains include the Genz NX2 212T from GAK when they had a blowout sale, the Tecamp sale at GuitarGuitar (should have NEVER sold it) and my current lovely MIA Fender P when PMT (think it was them) had a huge Fender sale. It was pot luck but the bass arrived and is still one of the best P basses I've played. I don't see many bass sales at all now, but the prices of Sandbergs is due to drop due to the euro, or so I've heard! Guitarists always get the better bargains, and luckily I play some guitar and I've picked up some amazing guitars half price!

I had a similar 'oh I LOVE the Stringray' for a long time, back in the early/mid 90s. I managed to get a bad copy, then the real deal 4 string, but I'd always wanted to try their 5 string model. In 2010 I finally got one and I haven't looked back...I love their 5 string models. Enjoy.

I sold one on here in A1 condition, barely used, and the poor chap had issues with the screen within about 4 weeks. Totally random. Turned off and never came back on. I have the guitar version still but it's just for fun; as much as I like these pedals I prefer having separates.

Great news. Some of my favourite amps are GB amps, and I love their cab designs. I hope someone like Bass Gear or Bass Direct (or both!) are onto this and set up direct distribution. I always wanted a Shuttle 3.0 10T combo and never picked one up in time. I hope something similar comes out!

Apparently Sandberg prices are due to drop! Due to the Euro...must be a first in a long time to see a price drop on new instruments.

It's been covered before somewhere on here, but what is the most efficient/cheapest way to buy from Thomann? They have some Fender guitars for almost £100-150 less than the UK now. Is there an option to buy through an Amazon account or did I imagine that? Basically, cheapest way without charges!

I went to 2005 and it was fab. I'd go again if I had the time/money and leave available. Gone are the days of employers being generous with annual leave.

Aye, Drew seems quite straight talking, and prefers meeting customers to sell/discuss or to see you in the shop. I've recently moved to Cheshire/Greater Manchester so I need to pay a visit.

That is what I was getting at. It is still marketing and covering themselves, but I knew I'd read that somewhere. I'm sure it doesn't matter which 3 x 8 ohm (or other combo) cabs you use, but I guess they thought they'd push towards their own cabs, especially as their cabs are more like 11-12 ohms. Doesn't really bother me as I'll never use 3 x 8 ohm cabs.

They can run anyone else's cab's x 3 as long as they are RATED correctly or within certain parameters. TC know their cabs are, they don't know that of every other 8 ohm cabinet. I doubt it matters but I think they are covering themselves legally.

I think the only saving point is as above; TC know the exact (or virtually exact) specs of THEIR cabinets and thus know that the impedance will be safe with the RH amps when running three at once. You can do it with other '8 ohm' cabinets but there is no guarantee that the other manufacturers have the ratings of the cabs as TC do. Usually, most cabs aren't actually spot on 8 or 4 ohms, if I recall. But yes, massive scandal. I like their gear but I've got tired of chasing amps and cabs and realised I have great gear already. Shame they went about it this way, but when the RH450 came out (2009?!) it was quite a clever bit of kit.

Weller/The Who will be class. I'd see Kanye as well...nice break from usual rock/indie. Florence? Nope. Never warmed to her and her band. Obviously very good but I just don't like the music and I think it's her voice that I don't like. I've now got a ticket to London with no gig due to leg break gate, but Blur tickets are on the cards.

I've just realised this is quite a good 'problem' to have.

Could be low mids (which personally I love) pushing through.

My first Ray 5 did this, and when I changed strings, it vanished. Still hasn't come back in 3-4 years.

Genz Shuttle/max 9.0/9.2. If you can't find one (SEE ABOVE THOUGH!) then TC BH800 or GK MB800.
