You can easily gig virtually all normal venues with the Bass Terror 500, in fact, im sure you could do pretty large venues with it NO problem.

Oh and yes, the Bass Terror is a great amp!

If you want old school, are we talking really old school like tubes? Best mid way between vintage and modern is a Mark Bass Little Mark 2/3 with a nice Aguilar cabinet.

Some basses, the American Standards, are nearly in the £1K area. PS Clarky, good choice. Dont sell! If I could actually play fretless, which Im not sure about until Ive had much more time on one, Id love your fretless. Im shocked at how it hasnt gone considering the condition. They were extremely shocked it had passed QC and immediately contacted EB. Ive since seen a few with the same issue, but Ive seen more without it. Possibly this is just a teething problem.

This isn't by no means a worry, but does make me wonder why they cost so much more just for the Nitro/Relic work. So in the end, the Highway One is a higher 'spec'!

GW - Thanks for the reply, and Im with you on this one some what. I can agree it can appear a little aggressive on that forum, as I stated before. BUT, it is his company. I admire the EB instruments, despite the fact I ended up with a weird neck on a Classic. I STILL would buy without testing. They dont mess about with these basses. I think the whole idea of not allowing people to 'buy' Ray pickups, for example, is a good one. What really made me think was when various members of the EB forum stated that people are obviously free to add what they want to their basses, BUT, the electronics in the basses are designed specifically for that bass. That's why personally Id NEVER change the electrics in an EBMM. Absolutely no point. if you dont like the sound, dont buy it. They are meant to be a bass you can buy, play, and really enjoy.

Absolutely bizarre. I really want to visit Japan just to see exactly if its how I image, (eg bright, busy, and full of awesome technology).

I have noticed it is a VERY defensive forum. I spoke up about a neck problem, and no one dared say anything. Dont get me wrong, its one of the companies I trust to buy brand new and unplayed from. They know how to 'finish' a bass thats produced in large quantities. S&T here in the UK who deal with EBMM are nice chaps and pleasant to deal with. Roasted Neck? Quite like the whole 'look', but I dont like the sparkly black colour that comes with it.
