is the 1000w tiny terror suitiable for gigging? a friend of mine thinks not, but the 1000w says yes. any thoughts? i'll buy one if it's okay!
That amp will need a serious cabinet to take the wattages properly. You can easily gig virtually all normal venues with the Bass Terror 500, in fact, im sure you could do pretty large venues with it NO problem.

Oh and yes, the Bass Terror is a great amp!

If you want old school, are we talking really old school like tubes? Best mid way between vintage and modern is a Mark Bass Little Mark 2/3 with a nice Aguilar cabinet.
i took the plunge and bought one last week - jazz sunburst - tis very sweet no doubt - am doing some recording with it this weekend so that will be exciting. I love it's feel, so easy to use and hold..last night at rehearsal our guitarist asked to hold it and he said it felt so easy like it was very natural - and he's from the other side - sounds: got a sneaking feeling the pups, altho pretty hot, might be replacable at some point. Great honk and great Stranglers bass sounds on the E with a pick and treble and both pups up etc, very punchy also..but I don't know, haven't played it live yet...our guitarist is very loud almost to the point of irritation, but got a feeling the pups might lack some output???? finish/set up - great from the shop, nice action, and with a good string tension plays lovely fingerstyle over the bridge pup, no sharp edges on frets, and fretting is easy taking your fingers pretty much to the sweet spot between the frets each time hardware - bridge feels tight, tuners (altho reverse to the usual) hold tune excellently it's just so nice to behold and oodle away on and the finish is fake as hell but it just does the job so what the hell....got some battered 80's basses and a battered 2009 bass!!
They definitely feel nice, no doubts there dude. Let us know your thoughts when youve had some more time with it
the values of fenders new and old have gone up because of the new increase in the cost of importing new fenders. Something to do with gibson saying that they wont sell their guitars in orders less than £20k so not as many shops decided to be a supplier and so more shops were ordering fenders who put their prices up to cream more out of the high demand. This is what iv been told by my dad so may not be 100% true but there has definately been a rise in fender prices.
There has. Ive noticed it. Some basses, the American Standards, are nearly in the £1K area. PS Clarky, good choice. Dont sell! If I could actually play fretless, which Im not sure about until Ive had much more time on one, Id love your fretless. Im shocked at how it hasnt gone considering the condition. Sign of the financial times me thinks
I like the idea of having a Rosewood/Flatwound P bass for thump and a Maple/Roundwound bass for growl. The neck looks a lot smaller than I expected - I used to use a Maple Neck Tokai Hardpuncher and that was PHAT but hugely comfortable. I think the new precisions look so much nicer with the grain. You won't be waiting long on here with the amount of guys after an as new maple necked P for £200 less than the high street price. Have a bump on me!
Thanks
PM'd!
And replied, thanks!
I just put flats on mine, which is exactly the same as this as mentioned above but with rosewood board. Sounds wonderful, cant stop doing Aretha numbers on it. Someone give this a loving hmoe
Plus 1, in fact, when demoing it, I kinda thought 'should I REALLY be selling this, or should I use one of my maple boarded ones for gigging, and the other maple and rosewood for recording/home use and keep them mint. For now its still for sale, plenty of offers and PMs. Still currently looking for a home. Cheers
No no no not mine, mine I freakin love Basically a friend of mine ordered a brand new GT200, totally stock model with the light up 'Green' logo on the front (This now has an upcharge for this). He paid his deposit and everything, got the amp in the usual 2-3 month waiting period but just couldn't really afford to pay the rest off, then he got a bit more bad fortune (job, car etc) and now really can't afford it. So he's looking at shifting it on asap and I offered to help. It's brand new, never been gigged, never been turned on longer than being tested in the factory. He's after £1200firm for it, the retail on this new amp is over £1500 and it is BRAND NEW. It can be picked up from me (Stockport just outside of Manchester) or from the Matamp factory (I'm only 25 miles away so can drop it in) You're also welcome to try it out at mine. If it doesn't shift soon he'll drop it off to Matamp to be sold on comission (for more than this.) So as stated it is brand new, never been used, it is the stock model that you see on websites and reviews. Matamp can customise these amps for you even when built, for which there may or may not be a charge (you'd have to speak to Matamp about that) Any questions let me know. Cheers
What colour/style is it? Pics?
I have to disagree there, in a way we are blessed by the fact that UK Distributors, Strings & Things have a stellar record regarding customer support, just ask Musicman20 to nane one, the blokes that work there like Pete Lunney & Co. would bend backward to assist you with any issue with courtesy and effectivness. And they are not the company owners but the sole UK distributors. So on that issue you wouldn't have to worry as you won't have to deal with EBMM Usa for any warranty matters.
+1 My Classic (oh how I still want one) was sorted VERY quickly. They were extremely shocked it had passed QC and immediately contacted EB. Ive since seen a few with the same issue, but Ive seen more without it. Possibly this is just a teething problem.

Had a few PMs again. Still here at the moment. Im now open to trades for something a little 'special'; please see above. This would involve even more of a financial problem for me, but it might stop me buying and selling if I get something a little different. Dropped the price a little to £725 to get the ball rolling a little quicker. Cheers!
Isn't that the HW1 bass then?
I checked on the information about US pups in the Roadworn, and Fender UK/USA both stated it's loaded with Mexican pups. This isn't by no means a worry, but does make me wonder why they cost so much more just for the Nitro/Relic work. So in the end, the Highway One is a higher 'spec'!

Anyone played one of these rather nice looking instruments? http://www.fender.com/customshop/instrumen...rtno=0151300800 Cheers

Wow, been busy?! Nice new collection.

GW - Thanks for the reply, and Im with you on this one some what. I can agree it can appear a little aggressive on that forum, as I stated before. BUT, it is his company. I admire the EB instruments, despite the fact I ended up with a weird neck on a Classic. I STILL would buy without testing. They dont mess about with these basses. I think the whole idea of not allowing people to 'buy' Ray pickups, for example, is a good one. What really made me think was when various members of the EB forum stated that people are obviously free to add what they want to their basses, BUT, the electronics in the basses are designed specifically for that bass. That's why personally Id NEVER change the electrics in an EBMM. Absolutely no point. if you dont like the sound, dont buy it. They are meant to be a bass you can buy, play, and really enjoy.

Absolutely bizarre. I really want to visit Japan just to see exactly if its how I image, (eg bright, busy, and full of awesome technology).

I have noticed it is a VERY defensive forum. I spoke up about a neck problem, and no one dared say anything. Dont get me wrong, its one of the companies I trust to buy brand new and unplayed from. They know how to 'finish' a bass thats produced in large quantities. S&T here in the UK who deal with EBMM are nice chaps and pleasant to deal with. Roasted Neck? Quite like the whole 'look', but I dont like the sparkly black colour that comes with it.

This bass is very new! It feels fantastic to play is also pretty damn light. Ive weighed this next door and its coming up at about 8 3/4 pounds. It has excellent balance and a smooth neck. The neck pocket is so incredibly tight for a Fender its unreal. I cannot stress how good the neck join is. Other great QC on this include the excellent finish, perfect setup, and perfect lineup with the pole pieces on the pickup. I spent time trying out different models and variations and found this to be the best of the Fenders in the store. The sound? Exactly what you expect from an American Precision; punch, warmth, and fantastic low mids. String this with flats and you have motown thump String it with stainless rounds and you have that typical P bass grind/rock tone that always sits well in a mix. I have just started a new role in a new job, and Ive only just found out they wont be paying me for a fair while, so unfortunately this has to go. As its new, I figured it would be better selling this than trying to sell one Ive been using. Fresh from Fender, with hanging tags, and the plastic covering on the guard and tuners. As most of you might know, im ultra fussy with QC, and this passed all my usual checks I make before buying. As with all new Fenders, you get: Brand new unmarked excellent new hardcase Rolled fingerboard edges High Mass Bridge String through body or through bridge Excellent maple board that gleams! Lighter tuner keys Flat pole pieces on the pickups No wear, no marks, immaculate. Medium-low action, factory strings (still brand new), and has a nice grain to the sunburst. They retail for £950+ for the Sunburst model, (which this is, obviously). Eg http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars...=08103116425838 I'd like £710 for it which is very fair considering how 'new' it literally is. I will accept ONO. Uninsured/standard shipping is cheaper (£15 or so), and insured shipping is around £30, maybe a little less. This will be through Interparcel, who I have used before, and Ive been more than impressed. You can also arrange your own courier if you like. I can also possibly meet within 1 hour of Newcastle, for around £10 of fuel. If you are local, feel free to ask for a test and obviously this will save shipping. PM any offers or questions. Im happy to help. As per my feedback, I REALLY look after my gear, but this is even more of an shining example as its brand new. If I didnt have rent and I didnt have to wait for pay from a new job, I would keep it. Normal procedure is cash on collection, or bank transfer/paypal before collection/dispatching to your address. Trade pending.
