1. The Schroes are definitely a good 1 cab small/loud solution. If I had the chance to gig one, id probably buy one, but now they arent available through the dealer in the UK.
2. Back for sale.
3. I hear really good things about the Ibanez P amps...kinda wish I could try one locally.
4. As if! I hope you get it sorted. Appalling service for such expensive instruments.
5.
That is gorgeous - I'm really starting to GAS for one of these (or a Stingray 5) and it would have to be exactly that colour choice, and pickup config. I think one of these could actually cure me of my long-clinged-to 35-inch 5 strings addiction... There's just such a cool aesthetic about Stingrays and Sterlings with that contouring etc - and they always seem so nicely put together and finished.
This is definitely a lovely example of top quality craftsmanship...very well made and the paint job is superb. The B is VERY tight and punchy, just how I wanted it. Cheers!
6. I've definitely noticed Aguilar taking over as a 'rock' brand in the USA...they seem to take a lot of ex Ampeg artists. Aguilar gear is exceptionally well made, and looks great. Definitely great for all styles!
7.
isnt the Little Bastard an ALL valve unlike the orange?
I believe so... I doubt it would be an all valve 550W amp.
8. Small picture added!
9. Must be Class D, eg like the Bass Terror.
10. Has anyone directly A/Bed one of these with a MIA P Bass? I just tried another MIA P, and to be honest, it sounded and felt great, but I still prefer my MIA 3TS/Rosewood that Ive had for over a year now. Im finding it hard to get anywhere close to as good, so im thinking of just spending a lot less on a CV P.
11. I've tried it, no bass sounds like a Ray, they have their own character. If you want the Ray tone, don't compromise, save for the Ray
12.
I think it's within easy striking distance of London, circa 30 mins I think
Obviously better for business, but bad news for northerners All 4 bass specialists are fairly southern, so once I move back to Newcastle I've got no chance! Support the north plx
13. Is Bass Gear moving to London? Im sure I read that in the email?!
14. This guy demonstrates the front H in this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv3hmab_lEo...feature=related If you click on him he does a good Master of Puppets cover as well but with the two outer coils. NICE!
15. EBMM Stingray 4 HH
16. I just like amps with mutes. My Orange has zero bells and whistles but it sounds awesome. Everything else i expect lots of extra functions.
17. That was my problem. Ive no idea if they have addressed the weight, but the JO5s/DJ5s I tried were very very heavy. Saying that, they are a large bodied bass, so I guess some will be that.
18. Ive been in a similar position, but I tend to really like EBMM basses anyway. Here is my view: Get a Stingray 5 HS. Why HS? Well, it will satisfy your craving for single coils (you can solo the bridge and neck pup) but also give you the proper Musicman H tone (which I prefer over all other H basses). In addition, you get two extra tones of different pups combined. I tried around 4-5 Lakland 5ers, and in the end the Ray 5 in the store totally won out. It was lighter, better construction, and just had that 'quality' feel to it. That is my opinion though, as many others love Lakland 5ers. I then had to wait 3-4 months for my HS to be built.
19. How much for both cabs plus covers and the trolly? Cheers
20. ...and what powered cabs are recommended? Obviously Berg IPs are no longer made.
21. IMO, the Fender will have that 'full on' jazz tone. It can be very upfront and aggressive! I've yet to hear a Sadowsky match that grunt and aggression. No doubt the quality of the Sadowsky is at least a touch higher.
22. Few days in. This bass is excellent and very light
23. White/Tort/Rosewood Thats my favourite!
24. Overwater.
25. I think Id like to see Markbass compete with the modern incarnations and make an amp with a proper mute, LM2/3 EQ section with para-mids, just a little bit smaller than the LM2/3, aux in, 800 watts but still the LM2/3 tone, headphone in, and the same weight. The Streamliner and RH amps are pretty much spot on at the moment. I still think TC are ahead though. There isnt much you can add to the RH750.
