1. Any pics? Do they have covers?
2. If you were nearby I would have come to try this out...even though Id like a 4 ohm, both my micros pump out a lot at 8 ohms so this would be pretty good for them.
3.
Check out 'Hurts' and you'll spot our very own Dave Marks playing bass. (for IOW fest anyway)
Really? Ill have to watch the youtube version or something. Great player.
4. I have no direct experience, but my money would be on the Ibanez. I do hear great things about the combo, and the cab looks TINY!
5. It seemed like a weird atmosphere, and I think it was the weather if im honest. Even some of the bands seemed like they werent that interested...eg Kings of Leon. Some utter tosh as well.
6. Trust me. Once you get a Ray or Sterling 5 you like, it will be great! I've had a few problems and just had some re ordered and they are great!
7. Im quite interested in the cabs.
8. Markbass seem to always miss the mute (well almost always!) Did you see the matching 1x15 + horn?
9. They are a defensive company but they are very proud of their product. I've had numerous problems but now I've got perfect examples of what I ordered (apart from backorders I'm waiting on) I'm very very impressed. It doesn't help the OP, but just ring S&T and Bass M ASAP...it'll get sorted. They may have a single h you can swap it for. It sound to me like something isn't right and may take a total strip of the electrics, who knows.
10. Are you willing to sell?
11.
I'm missing something, surely... switch 1 does what switch 3 is expected to do... and switch 3 does what switch 1 is expected to do. everything else is normal, all combinations are available etc... if that were the case, I would see no problem... so I must be missing something
The problem is unfortunately these are top of the range prices (almost) so I too would expect perfection. Its part of the reason I buy new gear. It may also be causing odd tones if its wired up incorrectly. I would definitely not touch it myself...
12. My advice is to call Strings & Things ASAP (www.musicmanuk.com). Also, ring and email Bass Merchant so that way everyone knows what is going on. That is a bizarre and very annoying error. I hope they sort it out. As much as I do LOVE it when EBMM get it right (as they have the best 'fit and finish' quality Ive seen on most of their gear, for the price) I do think they are currently VERY busy....which is not an excuse I know, but I get the feeling they have a lot of orders, long waiting times, and new models coming out all the time. It has a full 1 year guarantee. My advice? Call and ask for either a full repair or new bass. My 2EQ was repaired but it still buzzed like crazy so I opted for a 3EQ.
13.
I have no idea what nu metal is
Definitely for the best! Youtube: Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc...any of that rubbish haha.

15. I think your best bet for a new Warwick is Darren at the Bass Merchant. I think they sell the majority of new Warwick gear in the UK now. Last time I went they had a lot of new models.
16. Hmm, not sure why I associate nu-metal with Warwick, but anything slightly metal/small bodied tends to be what I think of when it comes to nu-metal. The only good band from that lot is The Deftones, and they got tarred with the brush of nu-metal when they are in fact just a great melodic metal/rock band who continue to do their own thing. I couldnt/cant stand nu-metal...still makes me cringe now.
17. Warwick to me are fantastic quality, but I just don't get on with the necks or the aesthetics. They are, in my mind, as mentioned above, associated with bad nu-metal.
18. Sounds great WOT! It's definitely at the top of my list to consider.
19. And here lies the problem with the Internet! It's a fountain of knowledge...and issues like this spread like crazy. I've seen it on Twitter now. Any resolution yet? Can the OP just have the pot?!
20.
Well I've seen nothing in his attitude that would change my mind about buying anything from him, I have found him both rude and arrogant. I wouldn't buy anything from Dingwall due to taste but from Sheldon's posts, if I did like his basses I'm sure it'd be a pleasure doing business with him.
Plus one. Crazy thread. Although I'm starting to like Dingwall designs Great to see Ken actually involved but to be fair, it still hasnt defused the situation! You know what, don't mess about talking about 'getting paid' for 4 hours, even if it was a joke. I'm no expert but you should just defuse the whole thing and save your potential customer base...and send the chap with the pot a pot for FREE! Then it looks great, and costs you naff all basically. You have to take a hit in business to keep customers...they might come back for more basses! Take a look at Genz Benz and their service. Exceptionally good!
21. IMO, unless you are buying a budget bass, you shouldnt have to swap pickups really. Otherwise, buy something else, as you are spending on what you dont need. Totally understand people upgrading cheaper basses.
22. I'm the same, i like new. Ive bought second hand and lost out with poor instruments, (although not always) and really you dont have any way of changing that. When it's new you can choose the one you want. The one in store no good? Ask for another until you are happy. Plus you have a guarantee. A well made American Standard (2008-) will last you for a long time. Plus, they don't need mods. Fender P pickups are perfect. The Squier CVs are stunning for their money but I know deep down I'll always prefer my MIA P because to me it's perfect out of the box. Don't worry about resale. People will soon realise the Fender prices have shot up so second hand 2008- models will gain value in the second hand market.
