1.
That would look amazing, especially if you fitted a parchment or mint pickguard to go with it.
Agreed...i'd leave out the tort this time round x
2.
Are you sure about the Stinger? The website still looks active (with a note about Christmas shutdown) http://www.probass.c.../StingerEQ.html
Ah thanks for that, I only followed an eBay link
3. I've made a purchase (Thomann) !!!! surprisingly I've opted for the trans red as there is a big red theme in one of the bands i play in...plus my 5yr old told me red It has a rosewood neck so i'd swap it out for a maple if anyone feels that way inclined. Will update when it arrives....in the mean time i want a decent preamp for it, I see the retrovibe Stingers are no longer for sale...any pointers ?
4. Couple of good trades on offer but keep them coming, will probably make my mind up by Monday

7. I'm finding both my Markbass Amp and Carvin are quite similar sounding and i've been considering selling one as i have a Genz Combo too. I love them all but i enjoy the filters on the Markbass that the Carvin doesn't have, however the Carvin does have parametric eq and a whole host of other great attributes. I'm not too bothered really if this doesn't trade as I'm very happy to keep and I may change my mind anyhow as the Carvin is the most versatile amp i've ever owned. Tradewise, At the moment I fancy another bass.....try me on anything but I fancy a Warwick, Yamaha, Musicman Ray 34 or US Sub, would consider the cheaper SUBs too with some cash my way. I like old quicky basses too like the Ibanez Musician/Studio etc. 4 or 5's...may even fancy a 6. I Would also entertain a swap for a different voiced amp like an Eden, Orange Terror, Genz Streamliner perhaps (again) or a Markbass cab. So back to the Carvin, Specs,,,basically its sh*t hot and in superb condition as its been rack mounted since new. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7hU1pzWE9E Stock pic: [i]The BX1500 dual mono block rack mount bass head delivers huge power that’s rich and warm all generated from discrete Class A preamps and 12AX7 tube driven power amps. 8. Gorgeous, and a lot lighter than my 74 too - Enjoy
9. This is still available as a sale fell through. Would trade towards a Sterling SUB Ray 4, obviously i'd add some cash too
10.
It initially came on the market in Black, White and Walnut Satin I think, and they added honeyburst in late 2013. Trans Blue and Red were introduced as options for 2014. If only they did the 5 string in Blue, or would introduce a natural finish, or did black with a rosewood fretboard...... Thank you for posting those links to the wiring diagram and the preamp fix guys. Reckon I'd be a bit out of my depth, but cheers nonetheless.
You get the black and i'll get the walnut and lets swap necks ...I'd quite like the walnut with a maple neck.
11.
Drool
Yes I'm wanting one of these....any USA friends around???
12. Labella flats on my 74 jazz, fantastic for reggae...still keep rounds on my P however
13. The programs certainly lubricated my funk glands....I even dug this pic out from [s]1978[/s] 2008
14. I also really like and recommend the albums, 'Jurassic shift' & 'Arborescence'...some lovely moments on that album. If your like me who likes to watch DVD's of bands live then you can't go wrong with their 'Live at the Pongmasters ball'
15. Cheers guys... I'm very happy with it - it sounded superb last night at practice, heavy dub bass, smooth delivery and definition. Only downside is that it weighs a ton but it will only do rehearsals and possibly a few festival gigs
16. Soul man Superstition Proud Mary Twist & Shout Mercy Everybody needs somebody Papa's got a brand new bag
17.
Their previous - Roly Wynn was a fantastic bassist, adore his lines on Pungent Effulgent. @bubinga - if you haven't already, check Ayurvedic
+1 R.I.P. Roly, an amazing bass player and Ayurvedic is a personal favourite too - Roly often played a Stingray or Precision. An old band i was in played at a festival with them, lovely bunch of guys with no ego's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=707mdNUpcGE
18. I’m never one to leave a thread without a conclusion! What happened to the Hartke 2x15” I hear you all shout Well, I did bid on the eBay Celestions and won them for 99p, only to be ignored by the seller and then via dispute he claimed he never meant to sell them for 99p and blamed his partner, so I thought tits to that one. I was then all set to purchase some of the aluminium Hartke replacement speakers when of course the bloody car plays up, resulting in getting another motor for wifey. Inevitably the Hartke speaker purchase was postponed until the New Year. Step in the guitarse from my other band; he kindly gave me for free two old PA speakers that he no longer uses. To both our surprise they were loaded with 15” Eminence Delta LF's, 500W at 4ohm. So I thought I’d give them a bash, wired in series - guessing that’s 1000W @ 8ohms . Anyhow tried them out and wow, pretty impressive giving a great defined reggae vibe which is what I was after, no rattling just smooth low end using my Markbass LMT 800. I don't understand the physics and hell it may blow but it seems OK. Then I went a little bit mad with some paint testers , and voila The Fartke ‘Jah’ Speaker.... I quite like it, it’s rough from the ghetto, it’s irie and well if it conks out on me and becomes all Fartke then perhaps I’ll get those proper Hartke speakers after all…but for now my ears and eyes are satisfied. 19. Buy an amp off here, cheap, then save for the Hofner -simple
20. I find myself in 3 potentially 4 bands of late. If you become busy, which my functions bands has, then it's very worthwhile to be considering getting a reliable dep(s).
21. May consider trades, w.h.y
