1.
Absolutely superb review, you should do this for a living. Joel, are you reading this? My swamp ash 5 string is in transit somewhere and I am even more eager to get my hands on it now! Sounds like the only mod I will need to consider is perhaps some Hipshot Ultralite tuners? Anything less would be an insult I think!
The 5's on my radar...but unfortunately on wifey's radar now too, just busted when looking at it, shortly followed the death look of doom. Do let me know how that low B is though ...It'd have to be the same colour as Discreets for me i think,...totally yummy (Hmm, wonder if Thomann do divorce lawyers ? )
2. Awesome band, I have most of their albums too
3. I've got the 2x10" combo and the Contour 15" extension cab, awesome rig...but then of course it would be it's GENZ BENZ...can't believe this one hasn't been snapped up- they're simply bloody marvellous and by far the best combo I've owned (ie Markbass, TC Electronics & Ashdown )
4. T-Bone on Thomann do a great 3 pack SM58 equivalent, surpringly good too
5. I keep looking a this and wondering if it would fit my 79 Ibanez Musician as the tuner bit looks similar to whats fitted. Struggling to find any reference on Google though
6. Our new band, The Bluespots' in rehearsal....Take 4 http://www.youtube....eature=youtu.be
7. Do these have the thinner necks, i.e. jazz width like ?
8. Feel free to do mine, that flake looks great. I've got my pick up and preamp in now, instant Ray' so i even put a sneaky decal on that my mate passed on and a recent eBay pickguard purchase
9. I'm loving the MB NY604 cab with my LMT800...I've a NY151 if I need the extra power but I'm finding the 604 so amazing I may buy another 😎
10. Loving watching this develop, blue flake will be awesome. I've put an original Ernie Ball pre amp in mine that I picked up off eBay, I had to make the cavity slightly bigger though. Just awaiting a EB pick up soon, although it's 90% sounding Stingray sounding with pre amp alone. Is the Status neck a direct swap?
11. Reggae bass..,...best served loud & heavy
12. Have just sourced an original stingray pick up and preamp so these are surplus. Only a few weeks old and sound great together. Now - £50 posted for both ono
13. I've just bought one of these and am very impressed for the money, definitely a good buy for this kind of money

16.
I have always fancied one of those but have always been put off by the weight of them, I saw a magazine article last year where a guy owned one that weighed in at 23 lbs!!! prey tell how much does your weigh?
wowsa, 23lbs ? Scary! I wonder if that was the Ibanez Studio? I had one of those briefly and that was 14lbs...they were great basses too but essentially built for the studio only, hence the name and weight - fantastic tone though. Mine is 11lbs, a little lighter than my 74 jazz but heavier than my 10.2lb Limelight. The Ibanez musician I have balances nicely though and the tone is to die for...definitely my favourite bass I've ever owned and super condition for 1979, highly reccomend trying one out... They're funky little mofo's that Markbass 4x6 is surprisingly good too, gigged it on its own with a 7 piece soul band with the worlds loudest trumpet player, the Markbass cut through with ease More pics: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1F0711E70BC08E32!11782&authkey=!AP3Js_wV77sH2hQ&ithint=folder%2cjpg
