6.
I have always fancied one of those but have always been put off by the weight of them, I saw a magazine article last year where a guy owned one that weighed in at 23 lbs!!! prey tell how much does your weigh?
wowsa, 23lbs ? Scary! I wonder if that was the Ibanez Studio? I had one of those briefly and that was 14lbs...they were great basses too but essentially built for the studio only, hence the name and weight - fantastic tone though. Mine is 11lbs, a little lighter than my 74 jazz but heavier than my 10.2lb Limelight. The Ibanez musician I have balances nicely though and the tone is to die for...definitely my favourite bass I've ever owned and super condition for 1979, highly reccomend trying one out... They're funky little mofo's that Markbass 4x6 is surprisingly good too, gigged it on its own with a 7 piece soul band with the worlds loudest trumpet player, the Markbass cut through with ease More pics: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=1F0711E70BC08E32!11782&authkey=!AP3Js_wV77sH2hQ&ithint=folder%2cjpg
7. Yes I heard about this the other day, so sad but an amazing legend who's wonderful music has been a big influence on me from when I first started playing...i'm a bit of a Gong geek actually, fan club and all that. Met him briefly at Gong conventions, lovely chap. You are I, and I am you ...he will live forever....big Gong meditation ahead
8.
Is the stinger a straight swap Raslee?
Yes, just solder the pick up , connect the battery wires, and that's it
9. I think this is my favourite bass ever! Just gigged it to a bouncing crowd and despite the Jack Daniels the bass played all the right notes on its own 🌵😎
10. Great basses aren't they? I changed my preamp for the retro vibe Stinger (basically a pre EB clone) £40 ish and I'm happy. Great thin neck too...bargain at £225
11.
Beautiful bass but can I suggest this version of the song for the stunning, muted string bass tones:
Awesome, quite tempted to nick that for my band
12. 1979 Ibanez Musician MC900...Cue the Madness track, it must be love, love love ....I am sooooo in love Also the MB 4x6" cab is a recent purchase off here too, awesome piece of kit. Love is the best
13. Fancy a swap for the P out of my Limelight P? I have no idea what make it is but everybody speaks of them very highly. Lee
14. Not sure what happened in Ovi's previous transaction but my experience with Ovi has been exemplary, perfect. The bass was exactly as described, if not better. Communication were top notch and friendly too. Two days delivery from Germany, shame we're not so good at this here in the UK. Anyhow, I cannot recommend Ovi enough...he even gave me a birthday discount - top guy. A credit to Basschat too, buyers & sellers deal in confidence as far as I'm concerned (and we all i know i buy & sell quite a bit too ) Thank you Ovi, I am in so love with the Ibanez Musician
15. Bumperoo
16. A 1979 Pre EB stingray, despite refin and non original electronics and I had one of those 27 fret Jonas Hellborg basses-kind of wish I had kept that too. Apart from those two no regrets of the other 60 odd basses I've been through
