SOLD These basses need little introduction, believe the hype - easily on par with a Mex Fender +++ I'm selling this King Crismson red Jive bass as I've recently acquired a Maruszcszyck jazz. I've A/B'd them both extensively the last 2 days and the Maruszcsczyck is the lighter of the two which ultimately is better for my back pain, but regarding sound and playability it really was a close one, there is truly a lot to like about this bass. Mrs Raslee is also pointing out i seem to have a few more basses than usual lately...ahem! The Jive was recently for sale here at £250 which is what i am looking for, a total bargain for what you get. I have however since changed the pickups for Dimarzio's Ultra jazz and fitted a Guyker 2 band preamp, vast improvement in the sound department - it literally sings now and has loads of bass tone on tap -can do vintage to modern easily. 9.2lbs on the scales so really not bad. Low action, excellent condition and the mint pickguard goes lovely with the dark red colour. I will sell the Jive with these mods for £325 or can return it standard for £250. If buying with the mods i will add the original pickups and passive bellplate to the sale. Comes with hardcase or gig bag - your choice.

REDUCED £600 Got this a few week ago in a trade and as much as I like how it's built and the looks, the sound is not doing it for me - think i'm probably too used to my P basses now. I did think about spending a couple of hundred on a different pre and possibly some pickups but then i thought I'd try sell it on first - if it doesn't sell then i'll mod it at some point. One of the tuners broke shortly after I got it, fortunately i had a spare Warwick tuner but this is chrome where as the others are Gold. I've added bigdumbys original add below as the pics are much better than i could ever hope to achieve (hope this is ok). As stated the bass is a player, plenty of gig scars but plays great - see the pics. I've put new Roto's on too as this is my preferred strings. Trades, 4 string Stingray esq bass, Ray34 or Sun plus cash my way, light jazz under 8.5lbs perhaps - try me though i'm open to many ideas , P's/J's, quirky basses - cash deals either way as i don't mind a cheaper bass either..... just don't need a 6 string bass. Cort Acoustic, plenty of gig scars but completely structurally sound and plays wonderful . Recently strung with Fender Nylons. Fishman pre. Happy to discuss courier options as I have some boxes but this would be at buyers risk, or collect from Plymouth Devon. You can literally tap your drum pattern on the strings 😊 It really is the ultimate drum machine/looper that I shamefully never really had the time to fully learn - plenty of YouTube vids around using. Excellent basses. I had the 5 string version sometime back and it was so good it saw off Laklands and high end Yamaha’s that I had.
