  1. Purely coincidence but I’d printed this earlier today and it seems to fit the bill apart from the wider end screws are about 2mm further apart. I should of taken a shot of the front which shows the peg being the ball end type, not a straight shaft of the BT2. I’ve got a BT1 on my stingray and the tuning peg is much shorter on that than the Elwood - thanks for your input guys, hugely appreciated 😊
  2. Just wondering if anyone would know which model Hipshot extender detuner would be used with my Maruszczyk Elwood jazz - seems to have the standard tuners from them. I’m think BT7 but not sure.
  3. 8th July 2002 I saw Pearl Jam at Hyde Park. Have to confess to not being a die hard fan after the first two albums but the gig was bloody brilliant, excellent guitarists, and of course…the ‘Jeremy’ moment 😉
  4. Perfect bass apart from those sticky up pole pieces of the older models - designed to shred your fingers! Easily rectified with a bit of cardboard, no loss of sound.
  5. Anyone know which Hipshot D-tuner I’d need to use on my Elwood? BT7? Cheers

  7. Awesome collection there - what's the Status like? Never tried one.
  8. Well, customer service goes a long way with me. Even better when a retailer does you an unexpected favour out the blue. The story was that classic cutting a string too short. Bought some lovely DR's off here at a good price but stupidly cut the D string a tad too short that it was slipping on my newly purchased Stingray. Gutted to say the least I took to Dr Google to find me a retailer who'd sell me a singular string. Gutted even further i couldn't find anyone, other than across the pond, who'd sell a singular DR string. Enter 'another Lee' from Strings Direct - a quick email, unsure they can support so they'll get back, had a quick reply and luck is on my side - they're able to meet my needs...but it gets better - Lee to Lee you can have it for free. I'm bowled over by this to say the least! Despite offering they even paid postage...what amazing excellent support from a retailer, top notch! I've bought from them before but will make extra effort to go there again. Customer for life! Supreme customer service.....So BD in Middle Earth, UK i hope you're reading this So, I'm bigging up Lee at strings Direct - simply brilliant!
  9. It’s the King for sure 😎
  10. New basses week! Not had a self indulgent bragging moment for a while 😀 Marus Elwood Jazz landed last week - simply brilliant, lightweight, warm sounding with nice slap tone…perfect! 96 Teal Stingray, arrived today - feel like a dog with 2 doodahs! 8.5lb weight, low action, pure funk machine, just total perfection! Along with the 74P this is my best holy trinity to date 😀😀😀
  11. Absolutely, kind of wish i didn't have to sell - the quality is amazing for the price
  12. Sire P5 Precision bass - 6 weeks old. Only selling to recoup some monies on a recent expensive purchase. These Sire P5's are really fantastic basses, especially the rock-solid roasted maple neck with a rolled-edge fingerboard, medium-sized frets, open-gear tuners, string through body and a genuine bone nut. I also asked Andertons to send me the lightest they could and this one is 8.4lbs. I have also fitted an excellent Tonerider pickup for a more mellow vintage tone as i found the original Sire had too much high end treble for my liking; happy to swap this back though if preferred. The gold pickguard is just simply a vinyl wrap over the original Tort pickguard and can be easily removed should the buyer wish. Comes with a generic gig bag. No trades thanks. Can be couriered at cost or collect from Plymouth. Courier will be around £25 ish. Bargain at £300, cost £410 only 6 weeks ago.
  13. SOLD Cheap but certainly a very cheerful preamp. A mate tipped me off about these and i was super impressed! Bargain for £30 - only a few weeks old, sold bass that i was using it with and my new jazz has a pre already fitted. Has seperate gain control to tame it, controls are vol, blend and stacked bass & treble. Blurb: 2 band preamp/tone control w/ adjust gain for JB bass. 1 Set JB2A Preamp/tone control (With Jazz Bass Control Plate + Control Knobs). This preamp features an adjustable gain which allows you to boost the input signal up to 15dB while maintaining flat frequency response. This preamp is a tone control preamp with very low noise and wide boost/cut range. The sound is extremely clear and transparent. Distortion is well below 0.001%. P&P an extra £5 in the UK.
  14. Excellent used pick ups,: £65 collected , £70 posted Blurb: The hum-cancelling Ultra Jazz™ takes a traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound and really opens it up. Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive, and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings. It’s also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing. There’s only one word for this combination of qualities: “musical”. Choose the perfectly matched Ultra Jazz™ Pair, or try an Ultra Jazz™ Bridge pickup with a Split P™ in the middle position. The appearance of the Ultra Jazz™ is traditional, but the wide dynamic range and frequency response of the hybrid magnetic structure allows both vintage and modern sounds. As with the Model J™, hum canceling is achieved with each coil sensing a pair of strings, rather than a stacked design; even with a relatively high DC resistance figure, the Ultra Jazz™ has very strong, percussive highs and clean lows.
  15. SOLD These basses need little introduction, believe the hype - easily on par with a Mex Fender +++ I'm selling this King Crismson red Jive bass as I've recently acquired a Maruszcszyck jazz. I've A/B'd them both extensively the last 2 days and the Maruszcsczyck is the lighter of the two which ultimately is better for my back pain, but regarding sound and playability it really was a close one, there is truly a lot to like about this bass. Mrs Raslee is also pointing out i seem to have a few more basses than usual lately...ahem! The Jive was recently for sale here at £250 which is what i am looking for, a total bargain for what you get. I have however since changed the pickups for Dimarzio's Ultra jazz and fitted a Guyker 2 band preamp, vast improvement in the sound department - it literally sings now and has loads of bass tone on tap -can do vintage to modern easily. 9.2lbs on the scales so really not bad. Low action, excellent condition and the mint pickguard goes lovely with the dark red colour. I will sell the Jive with these mods for £325 or can return it standard for £250. If buying with the mods i will add the original pickups and passive bellplate to the sale. Comes with hardcase or gig bag - your choice.
  16. Oops, duplicate post - v.odd. Mods feel free to remove
  17. Great bit of kit, very well made, CTS pots - gives you more tonal options on your jazz bass, including some very fat low end if needed. Surplus to needs now. No soldering required as screw terminals. £40

  19. Yeah I'm very happy with the LMT so far. I did my first gig, albeit mainly acoustic set up, last night and had a sweet tone with my P5 and a Markbass Traveler 102 (2x10) - warm and defined. Not really noticed a boost as you suggest but then i left it mostly on Tube last night, and a bit of VLE at 10 o'clock, low mids at 2. The Sire P5's are really great for the money, i bought it mainly as a back up to my 74P. I've since changed the stock pickup to a Tonerider I had in my parts draw and its tamed the high end a bit - was a bit nasally for my liking, great bass though and a lovely roasted neck.
