  1. Looks very Sandberg esq, zero fret too. I'd go for this. However, If sticking with the Sire or Ibanez though i'd go Sire by a country mile...a lot of bass!
  2. I keep looking at these......i feel something looming in the under £350 GAS land.....although those new Sire P's also look very good, but these Epipi's also look good. I had the Thunderbird recently which i thought sounded great, just looked silly on my beer belly......these may be a bit better...hmmm.
  3. I went for the Aguilar in my Electra, unfortunately no passive option on the newer Electra but it does sound really sweet with original pre, a lot warmer than the stock sound (which was also great).
  4. Unfortunately the bass was in a very poor state when I received it so not sure if i can comment on before. It sounds great now though and the neck is super smooth to play an feels very solid. Tried a bit of chorus earlier for those 'Pino' wannabe moments
  5. Yeah, the slides are a bit weird early on in the tune, perhaps overdubbed afterwards (?), but its got some crazy fun parts true to the Funkadelic spirit
  6. Did this one the other day - great fun, there's a few tutorials on Youtube too....funky as funk, especially the outro riffs:
  7. ....And The Vox White Shadow.....she lives and breathes again! Saved by Basschat when it was so close to firewood. But she mwah's like a big kiss once again and with the spare Sandberg pickups and pre i had it really sings too. Super low action to boot, easy set up...very happy - it's a winner. @Andyjr1515 you are a gentleman and a genius! I thank thee 👍
  8. Great looking jazz there @Reggaebass, love the white tort combo. Didn't the after 2012 have the 60's pick ups, or some special ones at least?
  9. Mwahvellous on every level - chuffed to bits. B/C really is a great place 😊🕺🏿😊
  10. Wow, so impressive just looking through this thread, complete resurrection. Well done @Andyjr1515
  11. Gosh, yeah that was a long time back - 2009 ish? That was a great fretless that one - those pickups are brilliant.
  12. I can feel it breathing again
  13. Basses I've owned...far,far, too many - perhaps around 140 ish+ - sure i have forgotten some, highlighted are the ones i miss dearly. Musicmen’ 1. Stingray Special H Aqua Sparkle 2. 14. Yes, most definitely out my depth......deeper than I thought possible in fact - great work mate
  15. Can’t see why not. I’ve certainly played a lot worse basses that have cost a lot more. I’d say it’s a good bass from beginning to pro level easily. They look very cool too.
  16. Looking great Andy. Really interesting to see the process too - I still wouldn’t trust my clumsy self to take on this. You’re a man of many talents 😊
  17. My mind is totally blown...lovely to see after a long day at work. Excellent works @Andyjr1515
  18. Price revised to something a bit more realistic
  19. Price £240 not £275 Got this in a recent local trade and am in two minds if to keep it as there is a lot i like about it, hence the feeler - i believe it's a standard passive model and has a bolt on neck - sorry I'm not of fay with the differing models. I really like the looks of this bass and the sound is really surprisingly nice, it's a lovely warmish tone with good definition, not mushy by any means. However, it is just not the most ergonomic of basses for a nearing 50's beer bellied hobbit type like me, and it doesn't sit right with the strap attaching to the neck plate - i know the strap pin can be moved and that's what I'm contemplating if i keep it, but i'm still not totally sure the Thunderbird will look quite right under my chin. Interestingly there isn't the notorious neck dive that i was expecting either. It's funny after years of soul, funk and reggae I'm finding my inner rock and am also currently learning to play with a plectrum (bloody hard work after 25 yrs of fingers) to which this bass excels above the rest of my other more pricey entourage. I'm mainly looking for potential trades - seeing if something else floats my boat, try me on anything - basses, cabs, amps - don't really do FX anymore and not into 6 string basses and don't need an acoustic. Can add £200 to trade up too. I'm pricing this bass and Epiphone fitted case at around £275 having done some research now i think i may have priced this a little high so £240 seems reasonable with the fitted case, which is lovely and fury...... maybe tempted on a sale too.
  20. There’s a Studio 1 reggae version out there too....
  21. Thanks for the support and reply guys. I'm going to send the neck on to Andy for a bit of first aid
  22. Cheers mate. I’d been researching a bit and seems the neck was probably warped, big bow in the middle - so gave the truss a tweak more tight....and it’s just snapped - game over 😩
