  1. You can't go wrong with Stradi. I currently have two basses made by Marek, one "toy" Micro bass and my custome made Amunet bass. The craftmanship is of higher standards. The great advantage of Stradi would be that you would have a real custom made intrument. Meaning that you'll be able to chose your woods, pickup configuration, etc. Comfortwise, the shape is quite ergonomic and very well balanced. Mine costed over 4000€, but I had many options and custom choices made (5-strings, custom top with résin, custom made pickups, twin preamps, custom woods and neck shape, custom inlays with hiéroglyphs, titanium frets, carbon inserts, hybrid neck construction, hybrid bridge construction... ) My second build with Marek is planned for next year. That's how I trust the guy. So in short : for this kind of monay, you can of course get any bass. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it. I personnaly fell in love with the shape of the Stradi Symphony and never regretted my choice.
  2. Following. Just received a second hand EB0. Although I wanted a short scale bass to mess around with, I'll finally put some other pickup in and convert into a piccolo bass.
  3. This makes me want to travel to Scotland. See the Assassin's Creed Valhalla decor IRL.
  4. I had an idea of a one stacked pot preamp, loosely based on the SWR Aural Enhancer system. The idea would be to have a stacked pot. One pot that would be volume in the first half, and then, on the second half, would act like a Bass/Treble boost MId Cut. Like the Aural Enhancer. The other pot would be to select the mid frequency. Bass and treble frequency would be set with two internal trim pots (or switches maybe like the EMG BTC) Since I have absolutely zero electronics skill, I don't even know if this is possible. But if you know someone able to do this, I'll be interested 🙂
  5. How did I miss this !? The Workhorse. It's a 5-strings bass, headless, 20mm sting spacing at bridge and 48mm at the nut, 20mm thickness neck. Neck is 5-ply mahogany/padouk Full fingerboard from nut to bridge, in Palemoon Ebony with mandolin frets. Chambered mahogany body with a reclaimed wood top, ideally reclaimed from a bar or something with marks and all. One bartolini pickup quadcoil specialy wired to have P/ReverseP and Full quadcoils. (one switch) One stacked pot with special design preamp based on the SWR Aural Enhancer : first half is the volume. Then second half is bass treble boost, mid scoop. Lower pot is mid frequency. Bass and treble frequency set in the cavity with switches. Equipped with MOSFET transistors Body shape must be weird and perfectly balanced.
  6. Haven't you plan a trip to the beautiful city of Lille in France, or maybe a romantic getaway with SWMBO in Bruges in Belgium. You know. Just to arrange a meet-up. 🙂
  7. Bought the funtastic Stradi LIttle Thing from Carlos, everything ran smoothly and the package was bulletproof. Will certainly do some business again with @juliusmonk as we seem to share the same interests on basses 🙂
  8. The combination of color, pickup and preamp makes me want this sooo bad.
  9. Had the 4-strings version, it's definetely a brilliant piece of kit. Lightweight, can be thumpy with the magnétic pickup solo'd.
  10. Could you share the Sting spacing at the bridge, please ? the traditional Spector 16,5mm or the Broad version of 19mm ? Thanks.
  11. Oh. I didn't know you were taking orders. That's unfortunate news, I should get out of here. 🙂 Before I engage in a conversation that'll end up with less money in my bank 🙂
  12. That is looking absolutely gorg'. (been loking a lot of Queer Eye, sorry). I'd say that a bronze/coppper finish on the hardware would be nice, or aged zinc. I absolutely LOVE the old reclaimed wood, worm-eaten table. It's fabulous. The nice "open book" cut on the neck adds a nice country flavor, too.
  13. I went through teh same kind of existential crisi 🙂 Therefore, My Stradi bass has a special feature. It has two Delano "The eXtend" pickups those are quad coils. Mine are specifically wired in order to have P/QuadCoils/Reverse P so I can choose. Each pickup also has its own preamp. Turns out the difference is quite subtle, but really useful when playing with the EQ. I'm pretty sure the most difference comes from the pickup placement
  14. I also encourage you to check out Rock Sugar. https://www.youtube.com/c/RockSugarBand
  15. Sub'd. We love to do mashups with my band. we play a great mashup of Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath (like this one but better 🙂 ) We also have a great Day Tripper/Are you gonna go my way. BUt love to hear all those propositions.

  17. Excellent thinking. I tried with some nail varnis then phosphorescent paint but it was too messy. The powder + glue in tube is a good idea. Thanks.
  18. Thanks. I appreciate the compliment :-) I might try to do things properly, as opposed to do them quickly :-)
