  1. So I've been trying to get into a bit of recording as I've had a Focusrite Scarlett Solo lying around since ages... Musicman Sterling > Basic Pedal Board > Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2 > Scarlett Solo > Reaper DAW I'm finding my signal is way too quiet and I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, I've got an XLR from the DI out on the rear of my amp, connecting to Input 1 (figured that kind of makes sense, XLR - XLR?) Any help much appreciated. Cheers folks
  2. Some beautiful basses in here. I had an older red Euro 5LX for a couple of years and sold it a while back - Sounded incredible but it was a heavy beast and the 5th string was surplus to requirements. Wasn't a big fan of the bridge either - pretty sure there was no intonation screws, but it looks like the current ones do? Gotta admit I'm finding myself looking at the Tiger Eye Euro 4LT a lot this past few days... Ticks a lot of boxes for me!

Wow that looks incredible! Between the Thunder III and the Ibanez Musician I feel im GAS'ing for a neck-through 80s bass - despite having never even seen one in person let alone played one. The 80s was (just) before my time. Really cool man.
  4. I didn't realise neck-through Stingrays existed until a few days ago, looks amazing!
  5. Hey folks, some beautiful basses in here! I took this for another thread but here's my 2014 Sterling HH in Trans Gold - Still as clean as the day I got it. Gotta admit I keep finding myself looking at Stingray Specials this past few days...
  6. Some awesome rigs in this thread. Here's mine currently; EBMM Sterling HH > under-contruction pedalboard > Genz Benz ShuttleMax 12.2 > Ashdown ABM410. Plenty, though I wouldn't mind adding an ABM210 for modular set up...
  7. Digging up an old thread here but I was doing a bit of searching for myself, I emailed him about this time last year and he got back to me saying he was planning more stock in the new year but I didn't hear anything more. There's currently a T-70 for sale on the forum if you're still looking for something. I'm after a Grand Tarkin, just messaged through the website there to see if I have any joy.
  8. Cheers guys, email sent this evening so we'll see what they come back with!
  9. For those that have been in contact with Sandberg via email, did you use - [email protected]? That's the only one I can find, I'm thinking about giving them a shout once I finally sell my Telecaster and I want to discuss some different colour options....
  10. Think I bought my Am Standard Jazz about then. Got it with 20% off in a closing down sale, possibly Reverb? For about £680 BRAND NEW. Still got it, great bass.
  11. I've never seen one of those before, looks awesome!! Is that a guitar pickup in the bridge? Love the 1+3 Headstock
  12. Maybe a weird opinion but if that had a lower cutaway a bit like Paul Gilbert's Fireman sig it could look even more awesome.... No? 😎
  13. Been after a drive pedal for a while, nearly bought a SA Aftershock a couple of times but went off it due to having faaar too many options for me! Came across the EHX Battalion Nano the other night, really liked what I saw and heard, figured at £85 delivered it would be worth the punt.
  14. Read through most of this thread the past few days, I think I'm really GAS'ing for my own as a result! I have a pal with a 6-string T-Series, doesn't seem to be many of them about but it is very nice indeed. Couple questions maybe you guys could shed some light on, I'm sure I'll be in touch with them at some point in the future! - Are the "painted" ones finished with nitro? I would assume the relic'd ones are? As awesome as their relic work is I dunno if I could suffer the upcharge... At least if it was finished in nitro anyway it would age nicely in time. Seems they can do a few things out-with the configurator - Anyone any experience of getting a custom colour? Really like this pink one MarloweDK has. Seen a couple with a reverse headstock too, an acquired taste for sure but I think it looks very cool. Awesome to have so many options.
  15. Peach Guitars have got it on pre-order for £600. Always felt a bit intimidated by these next gen multi-fx unit with all the insane options but im gonna keep an eye on this!
  16. Was just having a look on the Ernie Ball website there - the HS config is no longer available? Only two colour options too... But the roasted maple does look class. I haven't been paying much attention but it looks like they've shot up in price since I bought mine just over 6 years ago. There was a lot more colour options too.
  17. Juat returned to the forum for a wee look after playing guitar for the past few months and letting bass take a back seat... I've been playing my Sterling 4HH USA a fair bit this week and it is a belter. Ordered through bassdirect back in 2014 having never even seen a EBMM bass in the flesh let alone played one, I just liked the look of them! Like I said I go between bass and guitar and my other bass is a USA Jazz so this fitted the bill on paper with everything I read about the neck profile. Still not a ding on on it, the maple's starting to age a touch and the hardware's gone slightly dull in places, love how it looks. Im not one for playing about with EQ too much to be quite honest but there's plenty sounds on tap. Currently sitting with a P-Bass(ish) tone in position 4. Feels a fair bit lighter than my Jazz too.
  18. That's a very kind offer man, will keep thatbin mind if im ever down tha way! DINGWALL NG2 IS NOW SOLD CHEERS.
  19. Thanks for the suggestion mate but like with the Aftershock I think there's just too much tweaking there for me. That look very interesting indeed! Thanks man i'll have a look in to these.
  20. Hey folks, looking for some suggestions. I'm after a 2-channel overdrive than can also give some beastly distortion, with the idea that I could run >Clean amp >Dirty >Filth and stack the 2 channels if possible. I use active basses and play fingers 90% of the time, currently a USA Jazz with a J-Retro and a EBMM Sterling 3 band. Source Audio Aftershock looks like it'll do this well with the external switch but tbh I think I'd get bogged down with that pedal, not keen on the computer side of things would rather keep it simple. The larger Darkglass pedals would also look to do this but they're on the pricier end of the scale. The COG Knightfall66 looks to do this and I was keen to go for it but I'm struggling to get a hold of them, most of their site is out of stock so are they even still making pedals? Not too keen on the idea of a preamp-style pedal as my amp has 2 and both of my basses have onboard preamps so that's plenty surely? 😁 Any ideas very much appreciated! I guess I could just get 2 separate pedals...
  21. Sorry mate, looking for a sale on this so I can get a deposit down for an Alpher I think! A lot of nice gear for sale just now at great prices too.
  22. Hey folks, up for sale is my Dingwall NG-2 4-string which I bought form Bassdirect a couple of years ago. It's an earlier model with the more "square" pickups, I've no idea if they're different to what's currently offered. This is a great bass, I'm just looking to free up a bit of cash for an upgrade and it's a "Last in, first out" type thing! Good condition, no chips or dings to the paintwork, just the usual light swirl marks in the finish. The gold text on the pickups is starting to come away and there's scoring on most of the frets that I've tried to photograph - I've read this is quite common on fanned frets...? Currently set up with a low action and there's no buzzing across the fingerboard. The Darkglass pre is great, this isn't just a metal machine - I currently play in a rock cover band and always get compliments on my bass sound. It came fitted with a Hipshot X-tender which annoyingly is a different finish to the rest of the hardware - satin black while the rest is black chrome... But I soon forgot about it. Hopefully priced to sell, struggling to find any on here or ebay that have sold recently to compare to! Currently looking at £1575 for a new one on Bassdirect. I've not got any selling history on here but I have bought a couple of pedals, my ebay account can be seen here where I have 100% positive feedback - https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/stuartramsay11 Indoor night-time photos I'm afraid but I wanted to get this listed. Will get some better photos at the weekend. Hopefully I've covered everything. Any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a shout. Stuart
  23. Thanks for the confirmation on grounding the bridge I had looked at the East Pre in the past, can i use it with the stock fender pickups that i currently have? Bassdirect recommend Nordstrand pickups with it... this could get pricey pretty fast if that's the route i go down.
  24. Hi folks, I have an American Standard Jazz Bass that I had refinished last year some time, while it was away I took delivery of a Musicman Sterling USA and the poor beast's not had a look in since! (maybe I've been a bit lazy with it too...) So I'm now looking at putting it back together, it was originally Candy Cola and I've had it done in Pearl white, looks lovely and it's got a maple fretboard. Years back I rewired it to have an on/off switch for each pickup and a master volume for no real reason other than I wanted to mod it, and I'll probably keep it like that. I always had everything on/full anyway and never noticed much noise with that configuration. I'm wanting to upgrade the pickups to something that will make the bass sound more lively like the Sterling, I was looking at the delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 (the ones with the big pole pieces) - anyone tried these? Any other suggestions? There's so many to look at once you get in to it. I'll be buying without trying as I live hundreds of miles away from decent music shops. And for grounding the bridge, is it just common practice to strip back the insulation on the wire and jam it underneath the bridge?
