  1. That makes it halfway between a modern P/StingRay 1.625/41.3mm nut to a 1.75/44.5 mm one I'm almost tempted to have another look πŸ™‚ The emerald blue is fantastic. Very close to the finish on a USA SB-2 I had many moons ago which was lush
  2. I had the natural one in the Andertons video bought from Jezzaboy of this parish. Loved the look and sound, and Im no expert on P bass neck profiles but the neck is a big lump of wood and iirc 1.75" at nut. At least as big as a Fender 50's Classic P bass one.
  3. These are great basses. I loved my two Elites but sold them before the lock, stock and barrel move south. Wish I was not 175 miles away from you
  4. Bought Martin's G&L Tribute SB-2 from him at a cracking price. Unbelievably he knocked some more off it and gave me some flatwound strings to take away and put on it when I got home. Also got to try out his G&L Fallouts which were a bit of a revelation! Deal in confidence. Top fella and a credit to the forum. Good chatting with you Martin, thanks for the deal, really appreciate it!
  5. Will do. fwiw my MV-4P/J with the Gotohs is 9lb 14oz. I'm tempted to get a second in oly white and string it with roundwounds πŸ™‚
  6. Thanks Gerry, Hope you're keeping well. I've got a MV-4P/J in shell pink. Was so impressed with it I decided to go for a Jazz as well. I think the red/tort/rosewood with matching headstock looks the best of the lot. Ordered a set of flatwounds at the same time and I've got some covers to put on it too. Crazy cheap! Keir
  7. Can't say I ever noticed that on either of the Gen 2 V3 basses I had nor the Gen 2 M2 bass either. Sorry.
  8. Harley Benton JB-62. https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_jb_62cc_dr.htm?glp=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_r6hBhDdARIsAMIDhV-gcSH6jKxLMjQbs05OG-zi_Qx0sXTGOLZ2PkwfT7zp_9RWkZJ8UM4aAuloEALw_wcB
  9. I couldn't order an MV-4JB in anything but sunburst so decided to go with one of these instead. Ordered the Dakota Red
  10. I was the owner before Graham when it had no mods and a fetching(?) orange swirl pickguard taken from another Ray25 when I had two of them. Really nice bass, obviously greatly improved with the tasteful work done. Enjoy! Keir
  11. Gratuitous pics of my USA JB-2 fretless.
  12. I bought the shell pink MV-4PJ but when I asked Thomann about getting a burgandy mist or daphne blue MV-4JB I was told they were now discontinued. Seems a strange thing to do, when they're popular and sell out, they go and discontinue themπŸ˜•
  13. Great basses, extremely capable but overlooked by most. I really dug the in between positions on the selector switch. And this finish is possibly even better than the metallic rootbeer they did. GLWTS!
  14. Congrats on getting this. I was after it but was second in line. (I think we must have both felt some L5500 sellers regret) Anyway if you ever decide to move it on please let me know .
  15. Still deliberating over whether to or not. .140? I haven't felt the need for a heavier B but I may have an unused 135 kicking around. Did you find a noticeable difference with it?
  16. I'm quite taken with the platinum San Dimas P/J five string. BAX Music are offering it at a tempting price but I keep telling myself I don't need another five.
  17. Which one do you have? I've started playing mine again a bit more this last week or so. It has one of the easiest five string neck shapes to get along with imo.
  18. Dont think I've ever seen a high gloss natural Stage 1. Looks lush!😍
  19. I don't play it so much at the moment but I still have it
  20. I also used to own a different pair of Ray 35's - honeyburst and black cherryburst And a rare Lavender Pearl Stingray 5 from 1999 iirc
  21. Didn't think you'd put that one up for general consumption Jason. Your head must have been really turned. GLWTS!
  22. I now have a pair of these. An older Ray35 with the headstock that says that and a vintage sunburst with a roasted maple neck that says Stingray5 on the headstock. Both excellent basses imo. I've owned a few Stingray 5s in the past and these Ray35s are close enough to make me feel I'm not missing out. What gets me is that the s/h USA prices have pretty much doubled from when I last owned a full fat one. Used Ray 35 prices are do-able but the prices new are a now a bit crazy though.
