  1. *Now sold* Didn't plan on selling this but after buying a new sunburst Ray35 with roasted neck , I've decided to stick with that one instead. Bought from WaynesWorld on here less than a month ago, and asking what I paid for it. The bass has been extremely well looked after and plays fantastically well with a nice low action. The 2 band EQ sounds terrific imo. I have changed the orange swirl guard that came with the bass for a red tort one which I think better suits the sunburst but can change back if buyer prefers. No issues with the bass at all. These are sitting around £700 new so a bargain imo, which is what I thought when I bought it for same. I'm in Market Drayton. May be able to meet Telford, Shrewsbury, Crewe or Stoke. Should be able to post though buyer would need to arrange their own service and level of cover. Thanks for looking Keir
  2. Thanks for the heads up as I bought this. Been looking at these a while and despite the known preamp issues I was happy to jump on it. Just looks so gorgeous and with the DiMarzios and the roasted neck I just caved in at the end up. I'll run it passive and look at an aftermarket preamp in time.
  3. Love these. I had a Cort Curbow and also the Tanglewood Canyon III which was fairly similar. This one looks ace in sunburst. GLWTS.
  4. Now withdrawn from sale Selling my second gen Sire M2. Small ding by the pots and one on the bass side edge of the fretboard at the 3rd fret. Small mark on tuner key also. Superb playing bass with a really low action. Rounded over fingerboard edges are a joy! Sire pickups with the Sire Heritage preamp with mid frequency, passive tone and active/passive switch + 3 band EQ. Different sound to the V3s I had on account of the humbuckers. Selling as I am after a particular five string I have already set my sights on. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton. Alternatively I can meet around Telford where I work or Newcastle/Stoke, Crewe and Shrewsbury areas. May be able to post if I can lay my hands on a shipping box and packing material. In this instance buyer would have to arrange their own service and level of cover. Thanks for looking! Keir
  5. Versatile drum machine with a lot of features including variation/fill buttons on the front panel, a bunch of kits, ambience and sound shape functions, onboard bass etc Includes box, instruction manual and psu Now £40 Postage will be £5
  6. Very nice! Loved the violet fade Euro you had. Just wish I had the readies for it at the time (sigh)
  7. After selling my back up V3, there's been a change of plan and I'm now also letting go my main one as well. This has largely been my gigging bass of late but has been very well looked after ie almost babied. No issues, low action, plays and sounds great with the usual Sire touches like the rounded over fingerboard edges, gen 2 pickups and the Sire Heritage preamp with selectable mid frequency, passive tone and active/passive switch. Weight is 4.1kg/ 9lb 1oz according to my scales. Price does not include postage. I'm happy to box up for courier if buyer arranges their own service and level of cover. Thanks for looking! Keir
  8. Sold Lee my Sire V3. Quick payment and easy guy to deal with. It's deals like this that make Basschat the best place to buy/sell/trade bass gear. Thanks again Lee!
  9. I'd have both if I had the slightest chance of geting them by the missus😏
  10. That blue sparkle finish is equally as nice as the purple. I see they do a light green sparkle on the 4 but not on the 5 but don't think you can go wrong with either finish available on the five string.
  11. I picked up Waynesworld's sunburst Sterling Ray 25CA last week. I already have another of these in the Lake Toluca blue finish which I'm now in the process of stringing E to C. I've been pleasantly surprised with the quality of these particular basses. I used to own a Ray34CA which punched way, way above its price point so when I saw these used, with the simplicity and looks of the 4 string, I thought I'd use them as a reliable, familiar means of getting back into 5 strings again. Been very impressed so far. Now I've gone and bought a Ray35, it will be an interesting comparison - 2EQ vs 3EQ etc
  12. Love the Amethyst Sparkle. What a great trio of StingRays!
  13. I caved in today and bought a Ray35. Not the purple one but the vintage sunburst with roasted neck. If I end up gigging the Ray35 as my main bass I'll likely upgrade one of my Ray25CAs to the purple 35 then. Hopefully the tuner issue might be sorted by then too.
  14. Turns out Wayne lives just a few miles from me the way the crow flies so I nipped over and bought his Sterling Ray 25CA bass and then returned a week later to buy the case which he kindly kept for me. Items were as described and Wayne was great to sit and chat with. The fella really knows his bass gear. One of the good guys and a credit to this forum. Cheers Wayne!
  15. Hi yes same preamp. I just picked up a gen2 M2 (teal green with maple board) and I have to say I really like that bass. Only selling this one as 2 Sires are company, 3 feels like a crowd
  16. Read about the tuner issue - that's not good at all 😐 I've entertained the idea of getting one of these since they were first announced. Hope this issue is sorted by the time I get one. btw is the tuner issue just with the black hardware on the purple 4 and 5 strings?
  17. Loved mine when I had it, really inspiring to play, but sadly my technique wasn't a match for my enthusiasm and it ended up with yourself. Lovely looking, the dragons eye burst finish needs to seen in person to really appreciate it.
  18. Been a while since I owned either a StingRay 5 or Ray35 but just wanted to say that your bass looks incredible. I love the combination of the colour, the roasted neck and the black hardware. That is all.
  19. That's a lovely looking Jazz -black/white/maple always draws me in. Don't get me wrong, the black guard will look great too but I like it as is.
  20. Now withdrawn. Thanks to those who expressed an interest 2013 Sledge Sabre for sale or trade Wanting to change things up a bit so looking to let go my 2013 Sabre in the Premier Dealer Network Limited Edition Tony Levin Sledge finish. Colour is a bit of a chameleon and shifts from grey to having elements of different hues depending on the type and brightness of lighting on it. Bass is mint condition. Very nicely figured neck with both flame and birdseye in it. The Sabre is the only Classic model to feature the compensated nut and the fretboard radius is 11" compared to 7.5" on the StingRay. No string thru option on the Sabre - top loading only on the bridge. The selector switch gives Lakland mode on position 2 which is the bridge humbucker plus the bridge facing single coil on the neck pickup. Position 4 is very P bass like, being only the bridge facing coil on the neck humbucker. This position benefits from noise free operation courtesy of the onboard silent circuit. No issues with bass at all. Comes with the original black guard as well as an WD aged pearloid one. The original MusicMan SKB style hard case is included. A really superb bass but I already have my cherished and keeper sunburst/maple Classic Sabre which gets all my Sabre playtime. Trade wise I'm looking for : *StingRay Classic in black/maple *StingRay Special preferably with ebony board and black hardware (aqua Sparkle/jet black/charcoal sparkle) Happy to consider other options on a Special. *USA Sterling with cash from your end Possibly open to suggestions of Overwater, Warwick Streamer Stage I / II, Status, Spector etc Looking for a bass in excellent condition with no issues. Bass can be auditioned in Market Drayton in North Shropshire. Will post if buyer arranges their own courier service and level of cover. Trade would really need to be face to face. 21. It's the lightest bass I own. Not very scientific I know but I'll try and get it weighed tomorrow. Should be able to do something with the me without bass then me with bass on the scales method Keir
  22. Looks great. Loving the newer Sterlings with the roasted necks. GLWTS!
  23. It looks lovely and is right up my street but after my excessive holiday spending, I'm resigned to bottomfeeding. Not that that's a bad thing at all, it just means that basses of this ilk are out of my reach for the foreseeable. Keir
