  1. I really like the neck on my Klos Apollo and will no doubt be putting a deposit down on one of their five string Jazz bass necks. Just need them to do an MM one for my Sabre.
  2. *Withdrawn* Cort GB75JH Trans red over ash with maple neck and flame maple fretboard. Cort MM + J with 2EQ and push/pull active/passive switch on volume pot. Omega high mass bridge and Hipshot tuners. Sorry no gig bag with this one. Bass has been extremely well looked after by its previous owner. I took it in part exchange but already have a small collection of gigging five strings. £295 audition and collection in Market Drayton, North Shropshire Able to meet Telford, Crewe, Stoke etc Alternatively can box up for courier if buyer arranges their own service and level of cover.
  3. Lovely bass. I had a natural Deluxe HH 5 string and also a metallic rootbeer 4 string which were both excellent, particularly the 5. The neck was very Stingray 5 like in feel and the in between positions were great. Would have liked a single H to hear how that sounded.
  4. NOW SOLD So once again I bought a really sweet fretless and quickly discover I have no time to try master that particular discipline. Bought from Soledad on here a short while ago. Asking what I paid. Link to his advert below https://www.basschat.co.uk/search/?&q=Mayones &search_and_or=and Specs: Amazaque body Mahogany/maple neck Unlined ebony fingerboard MEC pickups MEC 2 band EQ Active/passive Superb fretless bass, beautifully crafted instrument with some really nice touches like the wood control cavity cover and truss rod cover. Unlined ebony board is in excellent condition. Has some marking from roundwound strings used in the past but is currently wearing flatwound strings. In lovely condition with no issues. Comes with nice Sire heavy duty high quality gig bag. Bass is available for audition in Market Drayton, Shropshire. Can pack for posting if buyer wants to arrange collection and their own level of cover etc. Alternatively can meet west mids Telford, Stoke. Stafford, Crewe etc Thanks for looking Keir Edit: added pics taken in daylight

  6. I bought a white Bogart Sport 5 from here a couple of months ago and I absolutely love it! This one looks equally as nice. Very tastefully appointed. GLWTS!
  7. Total cost for my two MEs including the fret level on the black/maple J/J is £1020. No complaints as I have a great pair of gigging basses. Both play really well and both sound brilliant.
  8. Dakota red Harley Benton JB62 bought nearly six months ago. Basses have come and basses have gone and some have even come and gone in the time I've had this 😁 It arrived with what must have been some blunt shock damage. Chip out the face of the headstock and strap pin at the end of the body has been pushed further into the body and is now at an angle with some paint missing. Was going to start a claim/return process with it but there was no damage to the boxes etc so I thought to myself how that one was going to pan out as they were asking for pics of damage to the shipping boxes etc. Anyway decided to keep it and have it as my noodling bass in the spare room. Unlike my other basses it doesn't live in a case or a bag and sits on a 3 guitar stand by my amp. Strung it with flats and set it up and to my mind it's a pretty cool bass. I've taken it as back up to a couple of pub gigs the last couple of months and it doesn't really ever factor in any of my selling plans. Colour looks a lot better in the flesh so to speak. Does everything I need it to and for £125 it's a keeper!
  9. Well it arrived today and it has zero issues. Frets are fine, no preamp noise, everything as it should be and a nice light, weight. Plays great and sounds sweet Really happy with this one from the off. However.... it was shipped without the gig case. Came inside four boxes - An outer shipping box, then a Framus/Warwick/Sadowsky shipping box with two further boxes inside. No Sadowsky Porta Bag gig case anywhere to be seen so phoned them and told them it should have been included. They told me they'll look into it and get back to me. Not happy that they could ship it not including the gig case. However I'm trying to be content that the bass is as I hoped.
  10. A bit of an MM Sabre vibe with these. Looks lush! GLWTS!
  11. Preferred the single H Bongo with 3EQ to any of the HH or HS I owned. Found the 4EQ a bit fiddly and the neck humbucker too close to the fingerboard. The 3EQ single H was lovely though. Should have kept that one!
  12. No it's one of the discounted stock but my understanding is there were improvements made on subsequent runs from when they were first rush released and appeared as a total mess. Low end lobster documented some of the improvements on his you tube videos and I know that peeps on here who bought later ones were pleased with theirs. iirc Bass Agent bought a green four and a five and was happy gigging his. Others too if you look through the posts. It's on the big Sadowsky Metro Express thread. I'm sincerely hoping I get a later one. I ordered a tobacco burst P/J five with the morado fretboard. I'll be returning it if it needs anything beyond a set up (which I do for all my basses anyway) I do think that IF it's issue free, these are great five string basses for £475. Even without the VTC to my ears the bass has a great core tone. The jump in output from passive to active makes it an almost unusable feature/selling point but I just leave mine in active all the time. Shame about yours. Guess I'm taking a gamble with these blowout remaining stock but hopefully it pays off. Fingers crossed, will let you know.
  13. I have a '20 black/maple J/J five string which has had to have the frets levelled as a couple were high. I got it from BAX music for a couple of hundred less than the going rate at the time. I did start a returns process with BAX but decided to stick with it and get the work done as nothing else was wrong with the bass at all. Fast forward to now and I've got a hybrid P/J five string due in the early part of this week. I certainly won't be as accommodating if it turns up with issues. Fingers crossed it's one of the later ones.
  14. Up for sale or trade is my recently aquired 2007 Warwick Thumb NT5 with a highly figured Bubinga Pommelle body with 5pc Ovankol thru neck with Ekanga veneers. Tigerstripe Ebony fretboard, just a nut, MEC single coils + MEC 3 band EQ. Incredible bass which has fulfilled a long held dream of owning an NT5 (albeit for a short time). However I'm a bigger boned guy and with the small body, I have to be realistic and say I'm not going to use this bass playing out with my band. I prefer something that hides my paunch. Would dearly love to be in a financial position to keep it but I can't really justify having it just for noodling around the house. The bass is in really excellent condition. Only issue is that the small truss rod snap on cover is from a Thumb bolt on. Comes with a Ritter gig bag which is well used but offers excellent protection. Weight of the bass is 4.9kg. Would take a Stingray 5 with maple board in part exchange. Will consider other five string basses eg Sandberg, Yamaha BB P35, USA G&L, Status, Lakland 55-02, USA Fender etc Bass is in Market Drayton, north Shropshire near Stoke, Crewe and Telford. Could meet within an hours drive. Bass used to belong to basschatter GBH. Link to previous sale ad for more pics :
  15. East Coast D1S solid top acoustic guitar. Solid spruce too, laminated walnut back and sides, indian laurel fingerboard, black binding with satin finish throughout. Near mint condition with no issues at all. Guitar plays great. Action has been lowered at the bridge saddle. Lovely guitar for very little outlay. Bought for £99 which was a sale price and I thought a steal at the money. Upgrading as I just bought a Fender acoustasonic guitar. Guitar is in Market Drayton which is roughly in the middle of Stoke, Crewe, Telford and Shrewsbury. Could maybe meet Stoke or Telford areas as I work and rehearse with my band there.
  16. Fancy a hybrid P/J five string with morado fretboard. Green or blue? ....that's the dilemma....first world problems eh? Edit: bought the green, blue now showing available 1-2 weeks Already have the black/maple J/J
  17. This is at the very least, as good a deal as what the Squier 40th anniversary models are selling for currently. The G&L Legacy bass LB-100 is a great P bass imo. I had the natural with maple neck for a while. I'm constantly amazed at what Tributes sell for as they genuinely punch way above their price point. GLWTS!
  18. It's lovely but regretfully, no bass tokens left after my latest round of spending🙁
  19. Spot on. It is indeed a 2007. I like the ebony board and the ovangkol through neck on this one. The profile on the neck reminds me of the Dirty Blonde I had. Bit bigger in the hand but no issues with that. Now need to find a Streamer Stage 1 five string in coloured oil finish with gold hardware to pair it with😍
  20. Got this a week ago and played nothing else since. What a bass!!
  21. Met Paddy777 at Crewe train station and went for a Maccy D's while we talked bass. Paddy p/ex'd his Cort GB75 5 string against my Ray35H. Paddy's a proper stand up guy with a real love for basses and everything bass related. Came through in our convo via PMs but in person, he's even more into bass and he might even be more into bass than me which is just mental 🤣 Fella knows his stuff so deal with absolute confidence. Paddy it was a pleasure meeting with you mate. I hope the Ray serves you well! Keir
  22. I love these basses and owned a few - Elites, Deluxe and Artists. Clichéd I know but if it was a five string I'd have had it off you by now. GLWTS!
  23. I like it. It's under 8lbs and the neck is great, really easy to get around. The sustain is brilliant. Love the look of the bass, the colour too and I've never had a problem with the small headstock. It's functional with straight string pull behind the nut and it's about as small as they could realistically go without making it headless which I read they didn't want to do. The pickups sound good to my ears but in hindsight I think I should have gone active. I thought a passive set up would tame the natural brightness of the carbon fibre neck but if anything I am finding I need a little bit more so have taken to using the bass with a Sadowsky preamp pedal which works an absolute treat. My only real gripe is the extra bit of material after the last fret. I guess it's all part of the neck sitting deeper into the pocket but it gets in the way a bit at times. I still haven't checked but I believe the pickup route is a swimming pool job so I will likely get another pickguard made up with the neck pickup route further back towards the bridge. Right now I'm thinking about whether I will keep the 4 once they announce the 5 as that's what I play these days but I'm in no rush. Hope this helps! Keir
