  1. Plus 1 for Neil. Such a great player.
  2. The courier world is like the wild west. Terrible service and no one gives a toss. I`m looking for a driving job after being made redundant and the amount of courier jobs available is unreal, they are desperate and will take on anyone. If you have a car and a smartphone the likes of Yodel will give you a start. I stay on the ground floor of a tenement and the other day a driver asked my wife if she recognised the name on a parcel. No she replied so the guy just threw the parcel on the stair and walked away. It was for a few closes down and we gave the guy his parcel. And the amount of times I have found a parcel on my doorstep, just left, is unreal. I used to reckon UPS were one of the better ones but I was speaking to a guy I used to work with and he told me he was working with them out of the Gyle depot in Edinburgh at the back end of last year and was under so much pressure to get the job done that if he went to a house and no one was in, he just left the parcel and forged a signature! He left just after Christmas and the households of Edinburgh should breathe a sigh of relief! Good on GAK for sorting out the problem so fast. I imagine they and other large shops have a person whose sole job is to sort out the b*lls up these couriers make
  3. I had a 15" Pro Neo and I wasn`t impressed when used on it`s own, I thought it was gutless. They aren`t worth the money if you buy them new imo. I had a ABM Mini 2 x 10 for a few years and it was far better than the 15 Neo. Having said that, it depends a lot on what type of music you are playing and how loud your band is. I used a MAG 300 head and a Ashdown 15" cab in a pub pop/rock band for a few years and it was fine. Where are you located? Might be someone near who can help you? Or are you in Australia as per your name?
  4. Had this up a few days ago but thought I would give it another go. But it`s not for me, too many tone options and I`m a simple eq man at heart. It`s a great bit of kit, tube drive, tilt, fet and tube volume, effects loop, headphone output and aux in. Loads of stuff if you like to tinker. Will not run on a battery, you will need a power suppl of some kind. Comes with original box with the stickers. VGC but I have removed the small rubber feet to put on velcro to mount on a board. £100 posted UK mainland.
  5. Don`t go breaking my heart by Elton and Kiki. Spent a week in 1976 in a caravan in Anstruther Fife with my auntie and uncle and one of said uncle`s nephew. It seemed to always be on and whenever I here that tune, I`m right back there. Which is a bit of a bugger as the auntie turned out to be a beach queen from hell in later years!
  6. If you tell them and return the item within the time frame above, the law is on your side. Why not phone them to put you at ease and check?
  7. Bought a tuner pedal from Andy. Exc condition and fast delivery! Thanks Gerry
  8. Bought this from Stingrayboy a couple of weeks back but I`m not gonna use it so just looking to move it on for what I paid for it. Really good condition, no wear anywhere, fitted with a set of flats but I have a set of Fender rounds you can have if you like. It comes with the gig bag it came in which is in good nick but has no shoulder straps. Weight is 4.1 kg or 9 lb`s. As I have no box it`s collection from Paisley or localish meet up.
  9. If you have e mailed Ashdown, Dave is the man to sort you out. He will know the type of speakers used and will tell you what you need if blown. Bought a couple of speakers from them a few years back and they were almost half the price of the same speakers from Blue Arran.
  10. Just looking at the tuners and they say made in W Germany. How quickly we forget that it was 2 separate countries not so long ago. Just guessing but does the serial number mean the 22nd of May 1981?
  11. As new a set of tuners from a Fender Player series, come with bushes and screws. £35 posted UK mainland or £30 collected. Paypal f&f or bank transfer. Ta
  12. Sold John a power amp. Great guy to deal with, no probs whatsoever. Thanks Gerry
  13. Thanks for the replies. I already tried it out and it does work but being in a flat, I can`t give it loads of welly to see how it sounds. It was s a bit of faffing about requiring a Digbeth pre amp, a mic pre amp, bass amp, bass cab, pa cab and lots of cables. Good for killing a couple of hours and no blue smoke which is always a bonus! Too much hassle so I will be popping over to Fife to meet up with DGBass to sort something out.
  14. Just pondering, as you do. Scenario 1 So I plug my amp head into a normal bass cab via the speakon connections. If I take a cable from the send socket on the amp into the powered pa cab, would this allow me to send the amp signal into the active pa cab and let me use the amps eq section? In other words, if I turn up the bass on the amp, would this alter the sound going into the active speaker? Scenario 2 Or keep the normal bass cab plugged in as above but use the amp`s di to send a post signal into the active speaker? I hasten to add I haven`t done this and might never do it as it might be daft / sound crap / blow up me or the kit. Too much time on my hands at the moment!
  15. In a previous version of our band, we did use other people to dep but it wasn`t really the same. Not that we do lots of gigs now but if all members can`t make the gig, we don`t do it.
  16. Not a fan at all of the type of music he does but enjoyed watching that.
  17. Award Session, used them for years. Made to measure in a few days from quality components. https://www.award-session.com/cleartone_cables.php
  18. Just bought a bass from Joel. Really nice bass, exactly as described, fast delivery and great communication. What more can you ask for! I would not hesitate to deal with Joel again. Thanks Gerry
  19. Just sold a pedal to Norm, as above a top man to deal with. Thanks!
