1.
Doncha love auto correct! Lol
OH YES!
2. Club 29 Sunday afternoons 2 till 5 Glasgow . Streamliner 900 + Prefaced midget t
3.
The head gives, in my opinion, a perfect reproduction of my bass tone... Maybe your bass tone is honky to start with ...
Everyone has their tone they like, I changed the amp and I was happy.
4. Both amps work well with the BF cabs, I use the streamliner with the midget t on most gigs...I don't do many loud gigs now. I have a 3rd BF cab on order....big baby t expected soon. Some reports that the streamliner lacks top end are not my experience, I think it is a fantastic amp. By comparison, a big band I played with, I would use the streamliner at half volume with the midget t. The iamp micro was literally full up through a Epi ul2 4x10 to get the same volume, and you could feel it compressing like mad!
5. I got shot of mine. I found it lacked power for the stated output. Didn't like the eq, not enough deep bass and very mid honky. Replaced it with shuttle 9, and also have a streamliner 900, which I prefer. Having said that, I was happy with my iampP800 for quite a few years.
6. I've used 2 midgets when I was waiting for my compact to arrive, it was a pretty big sound compared to a single midget and certainly handles a low B no problem. Maybe u should consider a big baby, i'm waiting on one to arrive. This is an addition to my midget and compact, to get an even bigger cab sound out a small unit....I hope!
7.
Communication can be sporadic at times but the best place for answers is here: [email protected]
Thanks, i tried that, but no reply yet. I know replying to e-mails takes time and slows production, but it would be nice to know if it was a week or six weeks away.
8.
I'm guessing everyone in this thread has barefaced cab, so I'd like to know if Mr Barefaced sends you a tracking number when they post it off? I only ask because I got th email saying 'such and such a cab will be soon be posted to this address etc etc' about 3 weeks ago.
I also got the e-mail 3 or 4 weeks ago, but haven't heard anymore. I have had tracking numbers for my other Barefaced cabs.
9. I gig with the Midget t most of the time, takes all I can throw at it with a Streamliner 900 or Shuttle 9 (500 watts into 8 ohms). It can push louder and cleaner that the EA NL210 i had. Compact gives a bit more depth and trouser flap, but doesn't have the same top end bite. Using both is very impressive! I couldn't do without the Midget now, it's so easy to move about.
10. Although more expensive, the Barefaced Midget is lighter than the Eden ex110 and will handle a lot more power
11.
This is from the 80's era...... We may look at these units again if there is interest
Had a Bass Machine 250 1x15 combo, these were nice, but I felt the sound got thin when playing in the higher registers. I bought this after trying a Bass Baby......that was a great small amp.
12. Eventually got to this via FAL, Selmer, Marshall, HH, Fender, and Sunn
13. I haven't treid GB cabs, but do have 2 GB amps that I use through a BF Midget T and a Compact. I doubt GB cabs will have the same quality drivers that BF use, I wouldn't hesitate to but BF again, so light and powerful.
14. http://www.musik-schmidt.de/gb-TecAmp-Puma-900-1HU.html
The 900 looks great, but I'm sure it's rarer than the proverbial rocking horse poop.
15.
Agreed. I've owned both and the Compact is superior and better value for money. I'd also suggest the barefaced Midget if you want to go smaller but still be able to play fairly loud. Frank.
+1 to this
16. I suspect sponsorship may be a major factor
17. GB Shuttle 9 worked well with the UL2 4x10 when I had that cab, as did the Tecamp Puma1000
18. I use a Midget T and Compact, very loud with a Streamliner 900, easily as loud as a top class 4x10. I do most gigs with the Midget T, it is easily as loud and deep as the EA nl210 I had before. Worth having the Streamliner 900 giving 500 watts at 8 ohms, the Midget takes it no problem.
19. WOW, I'd like to hear one of these, the Midget t and Compact are very good, so I can imagine what that's going to sound like!
20. If you have 2 x 8 ohm cabs, it's worth running one from each amp, it gives you slightly more watts and each amp has less strain on it. I've been doing that with 2 x 8 ohm Barefaced cabs. Interesting that the approx. 600 watts in this mode from the Tecamp doesn't give much away in terms of preceived volume against a Shuttle 9 running 900 watts at 4 ohms into the same cabs. Iain H
