Due to downsizing, I have an "as new" Epifany UL2 4x10 8 ohm 1000 watt cab for sale (just over 1 year old). Comes with thick padded cover (Jenart design). Location...Scotland near Glasgow. £500 + shipping. (shipping looks like about £30 for most of UK + insurance..guessing about £20 extra)

You should look here and talk to Alex before you decide which speaker to buy. I've been through quite a few "high end" cabs over the years, but have found the Midget T to be very good. Currently thinking about adding a Compact and selling my Epi 4x10. http://barefacedbass.com/product-range.htm Read the info on the site, I was quite sceptical, but the Midget T does what it says on the tin. Iain H
Hi everyone, I'm playing an American Standard 'P' with La Bella FS flats through a Littlemark III and a Traveller 151 P rear ported cab. I'm really struggling to get the sound I want: the full, warm, deep, well-rounded 60's/70's Country Music thing you hear on the likes of Kris Kristofferson/Glen Campbell/Charlie Pride, etc. The rear-ported 15" Traveller is very punchy and very clear, but not really close to what I want. My question is 2-fold really. I've got the chance to buy the now discontinued Markbass Standard Front Ported 151 HF or, alternatively, buy an altogether different make of 15" cab to go with my Littlemark. Can anybody tell me whether there will be any great difference between the sound of my Traveller and the Standard 151 HF and whether it will be worth the investment? The 2nd part of my question is really whether I would be better off getting a completely different cab (either 1x15" or 2x15") from someone like Mesa or Ampeg or Aguilar, etc? If so, what would serve me best for this warm, full, rounded, deep Country 'old-school', vintage sound I want? Thanks everyone.
I'm using a shuttle 9 into a midget t and it sounds great. loads of power for such a small rig
We play rock / indie covers. Think Editors, Radiohead, Muse, KOL and stuff. Singer, two distorted guitards and a loud drummer. We always play with PA. So my bass rig is for monitoring only. It's a loud band. However yesterday night seemed a bit less loud than normal. Or maybe that's the effect of no more messy lows on stage. I ran the Shuttle at full power. It coped, but there was not much headroom left. So I'm thinking about a Shuttle 6.0 / 9.0, Genz Benz Streamline (Jan 11), TC RH450 or GK MB-500. Much to choose from, indeed.
Thanks Alex, Interested to try a Big One as well....full 1000 watts from my Puma1000 at 8ohms into that cab.
Unfortunately it only just left Scotland so it wont be back until it's visited the rest of Great Britain!
Now that I have a Midget on order, is there a Compact still on tour that I could try with Midget when it arrives? Thanks Iain Harkness
its a 4 the 5 is US made...the preamps on these arent great also..
Radius will be fine on a 4, and John East does a nice replacement pre.....similar to the one on my OW jazz.
Thinking really hard about getting one of these from a fellow B'Chatter. My only concern is the 7.5 radius but it looks to be a peach otherwise! Am I too picky? Should I hang on and look for a Shuker J Classic or a Lakland? I hate it when you have money and suddenly you realise you can't decide!
I think you would get used to the radius, is it a 4 or a 5?
Bob Glaub?
I watched Jackson Brown last night, very good, but why did his bass player bother changing bass from a nice old P bass to a Lakland P with a soapbar....they sounded very much the same on the telly!
To be honest for the type of nusic we play it's perfect (so was the stingray) but the overwater makes the stingray sound weak by comparison. It's not as aggresive in in your face as the stingray but packs a lot bigger punch in a balanced way, if that makes any sense... I can't wait to gig it for the first time on Saturday
Glad you are enjoying it, and that it has gone to a good home!
thanks, i thought this might be the case.did gig last night and noticed pretty much instant increase in volume without much further movement of dial.i do have a trace elliot gp12smx and your right, big volume, then it drops off after half.i take it when you say a loud big band, you mean a band that can make your ears ring when volume has gone a bit over the top.
Well the car sounds nice and quiet on the way home from a gig, so threshold shift has occurred!!!
hiya moscowbass, what material or materials are your covers made from. price sounds good thanks dude daz
It's some sort of nylon cloth with cotton padded backing. I had one for my NL210 for years and it was good...stood up well and offered good protection, that's why I got one for my UL410. Recommended! They offer 5mm and 10mm padding, I went for the 10mm.
i'd say more than likely your right.just thought i would get my facts absolutely right before i part company with money for a cover. i checked the dimensions of that cab he was selling and it's the same as mine
I have had 4 covers from Jenart Design http://www.jenart.com/contact.html , they have been excellent...go for the 10mm padded version, it offers good protection. You just have to measure the cab accurately for handle position etc, I have one for my UL410 . Here is what I sent them: Cover was about £40 delivered.
thanks. sound was absolutely fantastic.didn't think i would exceed the amps cabability, but thought at 750 watts into an epifani cab at rated at 1000 watts 4ohms i wouldn't need to even turn up to half.
Most amps are like this these days, my 90's 200 watt Trace Elliot was really loud at under half volume, but there probably wasn't much gain left in it. My EA amps...iamp800 and iamp Micro don't start to work till they are over half volume. I was worried when I first got the iamp800 because of this characteristic. I use a Tecamp Puma 1000 into an Epi Ul410 and it runs about 10 o'clock with a loud big band. You will probably find 750 gets much louder at about 2 o'clock on the master.
I hope you dont mind me taking this a little off topic but I was wondering what hard case (if any) you use for your new OW Jazz? The reason I ask is that I have just aquired one secondhand and unfortunately it does not fit in my very nice new Hiscox case, its about 1-2 inches too long. I am just wondering what off the shelf hard case will take it. I might have to get padded bag or something if there is nothing available. Many thanks.
It came with the larger Hiscox case (STD-EBP) and fits nicely. The Overwater Progress basses fit in the standard Hiscox case (STD-EBS).
