  1. I didn't know you could even do that any more, but yes, I had already been put off. The woman next door works in a care home. The one who is always yelling at her kid to 'shut the f*** up'.
  2. I just listened to it - I really don't mind it at all, I think it brings something 'new' to the party, maybe because I am not that bothered either way about the original. The ones I don't like are normally modern remixes where they replace the drums with a drum loop, and take the soul out of something - normally so they can use it on adverts, there are quite a few on there at the moment.
  3. I suspect that as a european, the amount put in was 6,995, and that comma probably stopped the value going in past that. I will change it when I get to my other computer
  4. It really doesn't support the actions of the state governor, it mentions them as a bad thing. I wouldn't have any problems with it as a racist song - whether people have used it as a racist song I don't know, I am sure some have, there are an awful lot of racists around, in fact a positive resurgence at the moment. We play that, again, absolutely not issues with it, fully knowing the lyrics. Read the lyrics again, there is no contemplation, all the way through it is stating that they can't do anything because she is too young and expressing concern that she was at the venue. There are no undertones, it isn't like most of led zep or stones output (or even beatles). And honestly, if she was 15 then, she would be 59 now, so pretty safe!
  5. THere could be some element of that, but currently, the things (that we are discussing here) haven't got more expensive to make due to a lack of cheap goods or cheap debt, they have just got a more expensive price because they are making more profit. Not refering to musicman and fender and the like, the reason they seem bad is down to our economic choices tanking our exchange rate, but elsewhere. I do believe that the era of cheap goods and debt is coming to an end, but we haven't got their yet. And when we do, our era of expensive housing is really going to bite us.
  6. No, the preamps would make them seem like low impedance, which is the bonus of an active circuit, there isn't such a thing as a standard impedance. However, if you go to the emg site, they either sell or list what values of componants to use with them such as volume and tone, so probably best to go to their site and use the values they mention (note, I haven't tried this but I assume they have).
  7. Yes, bough one from Lidl - fantastic thing when gigging. 5 sockets spaced evenly across the stage - Next time they have one I will get another. Looks like this:
  8. There will always be people who can afford the crazy prices, so the easy way is just bring in cheaper ranges, so that people can buy that, knowing they are going to aspire to get the crazy priced thing later. Luckily with the second hand market being totally mad at the moment, it helps the new market to not seem so bad.
  9. I also know nothing about chinese working conditions, although I do know American ones, which has 'At Will' employment, so you can be kicked out (or leave) for any reason at any time. I don't know if fender do or not.. Looking at glassdoor seems like the usual, good work, poor management.
  10. US workers don't get to factor those in, whereas I would imagine that Chinese workers do get health and pensions, although I suspect average wages are lower.
  11. Have never paid more than a £10'er for a 3 hour practice, quite a shock some of the 'good' prices here!
  12. Because the EMG probably has a lower impedance than the fender passive pickups, you need a higher capacitance to have the same effect. What that value is you can either calculate or just experiment until you find the right value. I would start with what you already have, get another one and put it in parallel with the first.
  13. Thats odd and not very helpful. Here it just follows the link.
  14. I spent a bit of time on the configurator yesterday, just in case I found a chicken, but didn't have any tabs and never had problems saving, but then I don't have an account either (even though I have a Maruszczyk!). What do the tabs open for on your browser?
  15. Some changes are good, some aren't, although if you have to hear it like the album, probably better going to see a tribute act then the original.
  16. Such proof is not needed in private sales here either - this was shop sales not private sales.
  17. Not here and not provable.
  18. Do the MRS5S bridge saddles allow for that much change? I know they can move a bit either side but certainly on the MR5HS bridge like on the EHBs, although you can get 1.5mm either way, that would only give you an overall change of 3mm on all strings, so changing from 16.5 to 17.25. I know on the 18mm EHB1505 I can get the spacing down to 17.25 at minumum (although obviously individual string spacing can be different if you want that) In answer to the original question though, if you have moved your string spacing from 16.5 to 18, you have moved both outside strings 3mm. Measuring on my SR to hand, the 1605 with nords, that would still be over the pickup poles on both pickups so wouldn't have an impact there, but the strings would be so close to the edge of the neck that I don't think the top frets would be useable
  19. Because it is an abomination and a crime against humanity Why doesn't everyone use 16.5? Because they are crazy, thats why!
  20. It is quite a bad move. i just assumed barts were rubbish, then I got the 5005 and they were fantastic - it gives a very bad impression. It also makes little sense, they must know they are rubbish, I mean there is actually no cost difference between a bad passive pickup and a good passive pickup.
  21. Yes, for anyone other than you. You are saying you played perfectly in time, thats fine, but you didn't need to do the experiment to say that, you could have just said it, it is meaningless as an 'experiment' because your 'perfectly in time' may not be perfectly in time to someone else, it is all perceptive in your head, I have known people wildly out of time who think they aren't. I have recorded myself and found I was too early by a few ms. All it means is that it is good enough for you, which is fine. It would almost certainly be good enough for me too as I have never had an issue, and still dispute it is an issue when gigging compared to standing 10 feet away from your cap either but you will never get that to fly in here as apparently it is different for 'reasons'. No, an experiment to be useful has to have objective results - so split the signal, put one part straight to a right channel of a recorder, the dual wireless and digital effects on the other channel and look at the difference there.
  22. It does, but if it is less than 12ms, they wouldn't say 12ms, its a very specific number that you know has to mean 11.5! Unfortunately, 'perceptible' is as much use as a mesurement than 'less than 12ms' !
  23. I have the 1505, the one with barts isn't something I would consider having had enough ibanezes with and without barts. I like it and I like the finish, although would also be fine with black too or even grey. Its a very useable bass and I like fan frets. As others said the strings aren't as long as other fan frets, I was very keen on getting a spector dimension but the price went up just when I had decided and then there was all the faff with the pickup. Still interested in the shorter scale one (unfortunately only barts so would need work) and the fretless.
  24. Yeh, what they didn't say is that if you wait for too long you end up with a 9 week wait before your pedalboard is going to turn up!
  25. the NS:Stick has a lever to have a damper or not, which was useful
