  1. I also have Cuvave Cube turner, in fact 2 as I have one and my wife has hers. I think ours were just over a tenner from ali express.
  2. but very literally the purpose of this thread! I don't find the jazz bass ugly* but it isn't also that appealing and also ver bland looking, but this might just be because they are ubiquitous Apart from the headstock, but that goes without saying!
  3. I was the same with mustangs and now have one. I don't play it live as it's a 4, but I do play it all the time around the house
  4. Maybe was one of ours?
  5. I am getting more convinced there were only 2 of them, the one I had (this one) and the one you have!
  6. Did a wedding tonight, went well, everyone happy, nice venue, not a cheap event. 9-12. Quite a lot of people in a nice country place. But the most impressive thing to me was we played for 2hrs and 55 minutes, and the bride danced to every song and out set list is random (we are not a wedding band by any means)
  7. Credit card fees have already gone up in general now they can. However, there are still ways of paying without new fees at the moment if it is for expensive things, if it is for bandcamp and the like, and extra 1% isn't going to be too bad, if that is what it stays at.
  8. Normally how it happens. once there is no legislation to stop it happening, it slowly goes up to see what the market will tollerate. You see that with the mobile phone roaming fees coming back, one by one, so one introduces it then the others look to see if there is any effect on them for doing it, then they do it too. I think they have all done it now as of last week. Not that I care much about roaming fees but always used to get irritated before they were abolished with the stories in the summer of people who streamed east enders on their phone every day on holiday for 2 weeks moaning they had a bill of £500 in all the papers and how hard done by they were!
  9. Indeed. Just 50 more quid, and then the person that bought that thought 50 more quid and....
  10. I had a classic pro thunderbird and thought it was great, except I don't play 4 strings. But if I did, I would still have it!
  11. Congratulations, always good to win stuff (I assume, I don't tend to do it much)!
  12. I must admit to not having done much with the B1-4, but the B3 got pretty close on plug in baby. Certainly close enough for a pub. Shame I don't do anything like that now.
  13. The budget ibanez replacement bridges would be 16.5mm, some might be wider. 19mm spacing is what fender use, and as we all know, for a lot of people that is what a bass should be. Not something I enjoy
  14. Used to do that, but I guess yours must have sounded better, as I just used a B3.
  15. I thought their other song was good, just that that one lacked a bit of life.
  16. General pianos aren't tuned in equal temperament though, it wouldn't sound very good at all. http://piano-tuner.org/entropy
  17. Same here, so not sure of your point. That was a bland version, the same as the one above although one could argue it is her song to do how she wants, but not something I think is good. The original, non cover, which was effectively Alanis Morrisette and RHCP, had anger and passion, which both of these lack.
  18. Maybe that is why - I learned with the piano, so maybe that is why the just sounds so bad to me.
  19. I have nothing against covers in general, and I do like the original, but that takes all the anger away, which was frankly the whole point out of the song.
  20. It would probably be quite a lot of time and effort, and at what cost?
  21. I was quite surprised that Equal temperament sounded the best to me (just edging the 4th) and Just temperament sounded awful, I wouldn't have expected that at all. Maybe its just what I am used to. The last one was also almost as good - good old Werkmeister IIIrd!
  22. You are welcome to it - its not something I want on any of my basses.
  23. Oh no, that is odd, mine are pretty solid. And I didn't do much twisting! Can't you find anyone else around with a soldering iron?
  24. I have some real luminays, frankly they aren't much better, its hardly worth it. Its best to get something that shows when they are not glowing.
  25. While I agree that his voice comes along quite a lot in production, I wouldn't say "pretty much there", but certainly not too bad, we aren't talking Vince Neil levels of bad or anything. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good he got it, considering where it started from and his pitch was pretty good.
