  1. Thats works for me as I tend to go for 10”/12” drivers usually because of their size and lighter weight.
  2. Wonder how the EBS compares to the latest Headway Pre
  3. The guy playing with Elton John, something Bissonette? Although I’ve grown to like the 70’s classics or some of them but the guy playing in his set at Glastonbury I really enjoyed.
  4. That’s a pretty comprehensive spec! Shame it doesn’t have compression built in. I’d never heard of it before you posting.
  5. @Dan Dare yes I have PJB Doublefour and that works really well for both.
  6. Is that preamp specific for an acoustic or db? Just curious if they have any particular requirement different to electric. Some of the combos I’ve looked at that are aimed at non electrics seem to have different frequency ranges not sure if that’s the cab or the in built head though.
  7. Ah yes I see what you mean. I assumed as the strings were designed for uke the cores would be exposed for enough length to allow that but looking again at the photo its not happening on E and G string.
  8. Not sure about @Smanth uke but mine has large tuners, I haven’t measured them but they can’t be far off 1/2”
  9. Great little practice amps these, very transparent uncoloured sound. Wouldn’t be without mine.
  10. That’s a lovely example with genuine patina. I’ve recently started appreciating these basses, love the tone they generate. Hope it raises a fair amount for the family.
  11. I know the feeling…… you think it ends, but it never does 😄 there’s always another one you “neeeeeeed”
  12. Far from the worst offender of this, and to some folk it won’t matter a jot but I agree it could be better.
  13. Well it’s a Streamer 5 string with an ebony board, everything else can be changed 😄💵
  14. First time I’ve noticed this model, looks good, sounds good on the videos too. Bit pricey though @£1499 Sandberg Florence
  15. What’s out there that can handle all types of bass well? Either head or combo version. Giggable volume needed I guess 3-500 watt range? Is FRFR the way forward?
  16. Looks like a manufacturing issue, did they pursue it after the second failure?
  17. Was that a flatwound pyramid?
  18. Yes I like the Thunderbrowns in fact I would even say impressed with the tone volume and feel. Im specifically looking at metal wound strings now for a more bass guitar type sound and feel. The Thunderbrowns are all I need for the acoustic and db-ish thing. Even down tuning the E down to low B and it’s still very playable although slightly loses some volume. I’d be interested in getting a single low B but haven’t found anywhere that sells single Thunderbrowns yet.
  19. As far as strings go, which are the better metal strings? I see Galli, Goldtone/Labella, Aquila and Pyramid all make either roundwound or flatwound steel and or copper strings. The Goldtone Silverbacks seem to get good reviews, but the odd bad one too, claiming they are louder acoustically than Thunderbrowns?
  20. Just came across an Ashbory MarkII on fb marketplace if anyone was interested? Looks much nicer than the dog bone versions imo. No idea about the value but it’s up for £450
  21. How I lusted after a Super P for a long time. One on the “shoulda bought it” list, which is now the “I don’t need another bass” list. Surprised it’s still here
