1. You get a good percentage of a DVD for that........
2. Cheers Rich. That's why the price won't fall any lower. Sorry no 'will you accept £500' here I'll take finger stretching lessons first lol.
3. Thanks for the nice comments guys, you're almost making me regret trying to sell this.
4. Cheers Mark.......................sobs into beer, sorry orange juice.
5. Cheers Steve - can't believe it meself. Never thought I'd resort to ebay again!
6. Bump for new price. Please don't make me have to Px at Electro - Dave's giving crap trade in deals at the mo.... Oh, if this doesn't sell at this ridiculously low price can a Shuker fan out there give me a pm on approx costs for Shukerising (P bass standard type pup, Shuker circuit)? - its a good bass I don't mind spending some money on it to make it more suitable for the bands laid back sound.
7. Now sounds great.................back to page 1.
8. Monday evening hopeful and optimistic bump
9. Cheers Rich. Wish I could get on with the DJ5 as well as you did - double bass training obviously helps LOL.
10. Bloody awful Give em a few hours to bed in and might have to raise the action slightly (regulars - 50 - 105's replacing 45 - 100's I think). Should be nice and growly by tomoz.
11. WELL................what a difference a few months make when the BC GAS magnet gets going The 'back in black' theme has now diminished so to edit the below: First up is a 2004 MIA P bass that I bought off Nick (Old Horse Murphy). I only bought this on a whim as a back up to the Thumb and it's become my main gigging bass. Nice and light with nice old P type thud (from the ancient strings?). Still here and still the main gigging bass. Second up is a 2007 stock black sparkle DJ5, bought as a bit of a noodling toy, keep toying with selling this but I can't think what to replace it with so it sits (not too unhappily) in the bedroom. The only mod done on this is the addition of the Jeannies black pg coutesy of a fellow basschatter. Now gone to Mr Russ - couldn't get on with 35" and the string spacing. Lastly is a Lakky BG with Villex pup and electronics bought recently from Marcus. So that I don't trip up over all of my basses in the dark, the Jeannies black pg has been replaced with the original mint green pg. This is currently for sale but I'm warming to it so it may stay in the fold for a while. Now gone - bit of a saga this but glad to see it stayed in the BC fold. The replacements, first up - a 2005 Stingray 4H. Nice bass, everybody needs a MM at some point. Bought off a fellow BC'er back in April. Second up - a 1999 MIA Fretless Jazz that gets to go out on acoustic jams, bought from Ray a few months back. This line up as been stable for a few months but with all the trade fodder on here you never know....
12. Good to see yer earlier Rich. The Jazz really is as good in real life as it looks on the photos, Cheers, Mart
13. Cheers Rich. Think I'm going to end up keeping this one. That's no great loss tho, I've spent the afternoon pampering it, putting on the green minty pg and treating it to a new set of Slinkies.
14. Might consider a near offer if cash and collected.
15. All pm's replied to. Still available at the mo.
16. Cheers Jim, Think we're all skint mate. How come when it's a 'buyer's market' I've never got any money? Still it's a lot of bass for the money (salesman hat on).
17. I'd really like to buy OTPJ's S1 Jazz so if anyone would like to buy this very nice Bass.........................I'll reduce this to £500 for as long as OTPJ's Jazz is still available! I'll even throw in a set of new EB Slinkys if you don't like the flats
18. I think rule of thumb is that if I'm selling it's worth 'bu**er all', and if I'm buying the price seems to double
19. Thanks for all the help guys, Cheers, Mart
20.
Not being funny - but do you tell the rest of the band what instruments they should play?
No offense taken and, no I don't - but then I'm fairly laid back and don't get anal about the sound too much. Personally I like the sound but at the end of the day I need a backup that'll get used in the band context. 'Secondly, this is a great bass at a great price, don't let the fact that it's changed hands a couple of times recently put any one off buying it ! It's agreat example of a Lakland BG and a great Precision Bass' Thanks Mark, at the end of the day if the bass doesn't go I'll probably 'Shukerise' it - rip out the Villex mods (and part out for selling) and look for something more standard 'P'. It plays well, is of good quality and is worth the spend, but at the end of the day I would be happy with a stock MIA Jazz so that'd be easier. Cheers, Mart
