1. Nick, well worth the wait mate. Please keep this one as I might have to rob a bank if you ever put it up for sale.
2.
Interesting thread this. I traded my Jazz for a BO Thumb a couple of weeks ago (in fact, I think it might be martthebass's old one, which has come to me via another member). The tone is amazing. Knocks anything else I've owned for six. But I have to concede that its not as comfortable as other basses I own. Its not that its heavy, or particulalrly uncomfortable, but compared to my Corvette and Precision, it doesn't quite feel immediately right. That having been said, its a great neck and action, and it sounds phenomenal.
Si, maybe my scales are off, but I think it weighed in the same as my Precision (8.5 lbs) - like you tho, it didn't feel immediately comfortable. It did pain me to sell this, regret it but it wasn't getting used.

5.
Anally retentive about the condition of gear? Me? YES!!!
Rich, no surely not!?
6. Bought one of these off 'Murph last year - twin of this apart from RW neck. Best £500 I've ever spent on a bass. S1 - what's the beef? Just leave it switched OUT.
7. Something I've thought about for a while this. When I buy a second hand amp/cab - generally I'm not too bothered about the cosmetics, as long as it's not 'water damage' and doesn't affect the function. However I find meself a bit anal when it comes to the condition of basses. I'd qualify this against Fender 'relics' where people tend to think the 'trashier the better' - more in terms of your sort of 2 - 15 year old MM's and Warwicks etc. I think this as probably come about, in my case, with my experience in pxing basses at ye olde music shoppe where they seem to knock off £50 for each ding (I kid you not I was once knocked down £30 in a local establishment on a ~£200 MIM Fender Jazz because of a 1/2 inch laquer scratch on the back of the bass). So..........in general how do you feel about condition and what puts you off when buying 2nd hand. How anal do you get about trying to keep a bass pristine?
8.
And a heart shaped red tortoise pickguard
Hell, I need one of those for the 'Ray
9. Only a matter of time before the 'Pink Burst' respray
10. This is definitely a marmite bass. I had one for about a year and eventually sold it earlier this year. It's got a killer tone and is well made, but despite playing around with a comfort strapp I couldn't make it comfortable on even a 'medium' length gig. It's not heavy, the weight was the same as my MIA P bass but the balance was awful - the neck hung horizontally whatever I did, and the small body made the first fret a fair stretch. As I said, comfort eventually won out over sound. Good luck.
11. Yes I'm looking, but like the populous at large I also find myself brassick
12.
you can't be skint... aren't you that snotty little Tory boy who outstaged Maggie Thatcher at one of the party conferences?
Thought that was William Hague. Lived near me - the 'Hague Pop Empire'. He was a To**er then as well. Despite his comment, he'd never touched a pint of John Smiths in his life
13. Tony, I'd love to let the MIA P go but......................it's a shade over 8 pounds, sounds just like Thin Lizzy and is my goto bass for just about every gig (The Jazz and Ray generally only do 'guest appearances' at jam nights) - it's taken me 20 years to find one as nice as this! I can see why you want one. I think the solid ASAT would start to weigh me down half way thru the last set (The Ray does - just over 9 pounds). Last year when I was on a Warwick Thumb, a MM Sterling and a Lakland - I'd have laughed myself sick if someone told me I'd end up mainly playing a P bass. Dammit please someone buy this ASAT quick!
14. Thank god for that - I was starting to weaken. Don't ever decide to trade/sell the ASAT semi (aptly named).
15. Dammit Tony, tempting me like that....................must.....resist
16. Market's too lean - think I'll hang on to this for a while, sure I'll find a use for it.
17. Very, very, very nice. Just made me decide to gig with the Ray tonite instead of the Precision.
18. I liked the SR5 20th Anni pg less MM but somehow this doesn't do it...
19. Well this seems to be gone and not gone more times than a, well, thing that's gone and not gone a lot of times. I'll try again - BUMP
20. Don't do it..........................seriously, don't do it.
