HI guys, I have one of these for sale http://www.andertons...tar-38-bass.asp And to be honest I just do not get on with it it is in mint condition and still has the plastic screen protector on it I cant find the box or instructions at the moment but if I find them I will include them in the sale but it is pretty self explanatory I would swap for a set of new 45-105 strings something along the lines of Rotosound, Dunlop Picanto or Warwick red or yellow label £15 posted UK and if you would like pictures of the actual tuner just ask

So I am sitting here reading through some of the posts on here and there always seem to be somebody complaining about something or another when there is a debate going on throwing there toys out of the pram if some one else says something that they don't agree with it is not just on basschat that this happens it is on other sites too I must admit I sit here and laugh to myself at the thought of some one getting all steamed up banging away on there keyboards in anger or complaining to mods about people like little school children when there really is nothing to complain about. So why take it so seriously it is only the internet I can understand getting upset if somebody is personally attacking you but 9 times out of 10 people just have no sense of humour and take it all to seriously. So do you guys think it is funny like I do or do you think it should be all regimented and serious would love to hear your views on this
Yes, particularly with the Status Half-Wounds. The B isn't floppy at all and the notes are well defined right down to the Low B. You are both right of course, but I have come to the conclusion I am a 4-string man. In my humble opinion the advantages of having those few extra notes are just not worth the extra hassle, weight and expense. And I've also discovered that though I very much like the sound of the Audere Pre in particular, generally I prefer the sound of a passive bass. Keep it simple, that's my motto!
Good on ya mate fair enough thats what it is all about IMO having the gear you want and enjoying it the Squier is a sexy looking bass and a bargain to boot really cannot see this hanging about too long -
I'd start by checking the jack socket, looking for any obvious signs of oxidation where there should be metal to metal contact, probably a good idea to spray switch cleaner into the pots just to make sure it isn't those; effectively work your way through the signal chain starting from least expensive components to the most expensive (jack socket, wiring, tone cap, tone and volume pot and finally the pickup).
+1 I would also try adjusting the pick up height and sticking on some nice new fresh strings

I would really like to study music in some form and whilst I agree with ambient that it is hard to get onto a course I certainly am having no luck but I do have to agree with the other comments also. From my own experience people I have spoken to not just in the music industry but in industries across the board college qualifications seem to be handed out like smarties I know when I did my engineering apprenticeship years ago it was bloody hard work and you got pushed as you were in a real environment but in my last few years in the engineering trade you would see these young kids come on to projects and most of them really did not have a clue about very basic things but they all had there degrees or whatever qualification it was really mind blowing

Are people who say "my bass never goes out of tune" crazy?
Thunderbird replied to thepurpleblob's topic in General Discussion
I would think that due to the nature of design any guitar will go out of tune a little? I think as rightly pointed out the machine heads need to be in good condition and I think it also has a lot to do with the quality of strings and also on how well they were put on the bass in the 1st place I used to have D'addario steels on one of my basses and that always seemed to go out of tune I thought it may have had something to do with the strings slipping so I swapped them out for my normal brand and the bass held tune really well -

Rotosound Outstanding Customer Service
Thunderbird replied to Thunderbird's topic in Accessories and Misc
You're (and in fact all of us are) protected by the The Sale Of Goods Act regarding the sale of goods in this country and it clearly states you are entitled to a refund if the goods you purchased fail to be:

of merchantable quality or
fit for the purpose described
and I'd expect a new string snapping in the manner you describe to be an example of not fit for purpose. It's probably the case that more of us really ought to complain when this sort of thing happens but often don't and put it down to experience. Anyway, I'm glad Rotosound sorted it out for you!
That is very true but sadly as we all know if we ever have a faulty item be it a bass or anything else lots of retailers will try to wiggle out of replacing the item and blame the customer or give them some form of BS but the Rotosound guys did not try to blame or belittle me they just sent me a new string no questions asked and were polite and friendly a big +1 in my book
