1. I loved Metallica back in the day infact I still love anything black album and older but I wouldn't loose any sleep if I did not get to see them live now and it is not surprising they are doing Glastonbury I think they will do anything that lines there pockets now I really don't think it is about the music for them any more which is a shame as there is a lot of talent in that band
  2.
A 'I am a bit surprised this is still here' type bump. Head-turner, plays well, sounds great, lightweight. Cheap as chips!!
Me too GLWTS
  3. Tom Bought a pedal from me it was a nice easy transaction Tom paid instantly all all is good great basschatter 10/10
  4. A newish shop opened up fairly near to me so I popped in as I needed a bass fixing the guy was very polite and his price was reasonable for the repair While I was there I had a quick look around and there was only 3 basses and a few sets of strings and some books and I thought they were expensive nearly double the cost of an online retailer for example there was a playalong bass tab book in there that I was going to buy from there but I looked at the price an it was £18.95 but it is only £9 odd on Amazon so he lost a sale there I would not of minded paying a couple of quid more for the book in his shop but I was not going to pay double for it and I doubt other people would either , so I doubt I would buy anything from there unless I really needed it but I would go back for repairs as I liked the guys attitude so it restored my faith in music shops a little I think if he expands and does more bass stuff at a sensible price I would go there and buy more stuff
  5.
I wonder if your OP will end up in the Basschat quotes thread in a few weeks when you decide you really prefer your P?? It seems that many try something different, like it for a short time and revert to their tried and tested P Bass (not me, I hate Fenders and love active basses).
Don't get me wrong I really do love my P bass but I have been looking for the sound I am getting from my new active for so long and now I have found it my P bass will still be used a fair bit as I still think it is a great sounding and easy to play bass but I am loving all the new sounds and tones I can get from my new bass and I have come to the conclusion it is not a fad type of thing as I have been playing it solidly for the last few weeks and I normally know within a couple of days if it is a keeper bass or not
  6. Well I recently bought an active bass off the forum and I am loving it I am a Fender kind of guy and having tried shed loads of basses I always go back to my Fender P with light gauge strings but I have basically changed my whole setup I am now using standard gauge Rotosounds which I really like and hated before my new bass is active which again I tried before and hated . My Fender P is still easier to play due to being a shorter scale and the slightly different neck profile but yet I still like my other setup better and I have gone through the initial honeymoon period and still like the new set up (I normally know within a day or so if I am not going to get on with new gear) so I guess what I am trying to say is I am amazed at liking stuff I have tried before and hated maybe trying giving things a second chance is worth a go? what do you guys think ? ever had this happen to you?
  7. And Mr discreet is a very fine Chap to deal with GLWTS
  8. IMO these are much better basses than any Squire I have played or owned it is a little heavy but it balances very well on a good strap and feels lighter than it is GLWTS

  11.
I think £7 is a bit better than £23 on ebay.
Agreed but it would be £65 selling fees with ebays new rates
  12.
Good basses these. Great value for money and you can get amazingly low action. GLWTS
And I would like to add that merlin is a cracking guy to deal with

Mark is an absolutely great guy to deal with and a true gent I had a few problems with the courier and the pedal took a while to get too Mark and he was really understanding about the issue his communication was fantastic and he paid straight away and let me know when the pedal had arrived with him all in all a great easy deal( apart from the silly courier lol).
