  1. Anything by Oasis... the first three tracks you can think of 😐
  2. I haven’t bought music in a physical CD / vinyl form for years... The last actual CD I bought must have been back in the 90s. Ive never been much of a fan of listening through entire albums anyway really. Even my favourites have several tracks I’m not really keen on. I’m more of a playlist guy. Songs from various artists to suit the mood 😊
  3. This topic crops up from time to time with lots of different suggestions, but I have never actually heard of someone who has had their gear nicked then made a successful claim. If anyone has I’ll change my insurance to whoever they are using tomorrow 😐 Im currently covered under the contents insurance with Aviva, with my bass gear covered as specified items to be covered outside the house and also for professional use (for the rare occasions I receive a few beer tokens for a gig). A lot of the specialist music gear policies only appeared to cover my gear whilst I was actually playing it... not when in a back stage room unattended etc. My current policy apparently covers all eventualities but as ever I’ll only find out if that’s true in the event I have to make a claim.
  4. I seem to recall someone has an acoustic one filled with concrete 😕
  5. Well I can’t say I lose sleep over it... Would rather it hadn’t happened though. Certainly doesn’t make the One10 a bad cab though... If I thought there was anything better I’d be using that instead.
  6. Yeah both my One10s look like this... If they weren’t lighter, smaller and louder than everything else in the category I’d get something else 😐
  7. There have been a few I’ve had a love hate relationship with... Warwick Thumb NT 6 sounded absolutely awesome but unplayable neck dive... even a massive neoprene strap couldn’t hold it.
  8. It does me I’m afraid... thin weedy tone with no bottom end? I can’t derive any enjoyment from that. A bass has to sound like a bass for me 😊
  9. Another vote for Minotaur here 😊 Have one to match each of my basses.
  10. This is my only Red Line with bands... You get what I want to play or you can find someone else 😐 I’ll take suggestions obviously but the final decision is mine. *caveat is that I’m playing in originals bands for fun. If playing bass was my job I’d do whatever my employer wanted.
  11. No they didn’t want one bizarrely 😕 Got a bass reserved as part of a batch Thomann have ordered rather than a direct order myself. Due in the next Four weeks though so I’ll be out of the game shortly 😞
  12. I haven’t bought anything yet this year 😊 ...I have ordered a bass but it’s not built yet so I’m still in by default 👍
  13. I run a One10 stack and it’s never not been loud enough 😊 done a few pubs with no PA and it’s not even broken a sweat... ...admittedly I’m not playing stadiums with no PA support but who is 😕 Did a rehearsal last week at a place on the third floor (no lift). Bass on my back and a cab in each hand, stairs were no trouble whatsoever. I never liked the earlier Barefaced gear, always found the tone too honky, but the One10 is much nicer sounding to my ears. Deep and Punchy 😊 I think they are great.
  14. All other points to one side though it’s got a great paint job 🍌
  15. I’ve heard Strat players refer to this as “swimming pool routing” ... a google image search of the same throws up some horrific results 😕
  16. Do other P Basses look like that under the pickguard 😕 Glarry are not alone here though... I tried an older Fodera Emperor the other day. Went to the shop with the full intention of taking it home if I liked it and the routing for the bridge pickup (whilst not like the Glarry) was shocking... could easily have slid a £1 coin in and out 😕 and that bass was 100 times the price of this one 😕
  17. Interesting... I use either of these terms to describe myself but I much prefer referring to the instrument itself as “Electric Bass” rather than “Bass Guitar”... I feel Electric Bass better covers the role we are performing within the band (bridging the gap between the melody and the beat, holding it all together, outlining chords etc), I feel it keeps the link to the double bass, being an electric version thereof. Whereas “Bass Guitar” conjures up images of playing the same thing as the guitar an octave down.
  18. Not really a reliability thing but (as it keeps happening it must be true) I always seem to be the least “committed” 😕 Id never miss a gig, rehearsal, recording or other band commitment, but despite me setting out firmly from day one that work is my priority and music very much a hobby, bands still seem surprised when I tell them I won’t be taking Four weeks off work to go “on tour” in a van round Sweden... 😕
  19. You haven’t heard any of mine then... 😉
  20. It was indeed... and an absolute peach of an instrument it is too. I only moved this on when my own fretless build arrived. The facings are truly something special 😊
  21. I would say they don’t bother me rather than I actively like them... Given a straight choice between two otherwise identical basses, going for the lighter one is a no brainier.
  22. Bump! Can’t ship till weekend of 21st/22nd at the earliest due to work / family commitments.
  23. I have edge lines on mine at the fret positions which extend as far as the first string, then markers in between as they would be on a fretted bass. I went for this as the first fretless I had also had this arrangement so I’ve gotten used to it.
  24. I’ve never deleted a post and I’ve said loads of stupid stuff. I found one the other day where I said P basses were only for old duffers in covers bands 😕 I’ve bought several myself since then... then again I am a bit older now 😕
