1. if they were any good Rog & Riley wouldn't have flogged them off.
2. who's using the psu with theirs & who prefers batteries? I use mine for every rehearsal/gig & always power from batteries. I use amazon own-brand eneloop rechargable AAs and always put a freshly charged set in before I take it out. I can probably get about four or five hours on a set before it conks out, so long enough for a gig or evening rehearsal.
3. Mustangs have a bridge for thru stringing, my other 30" short scales don't. I can use thomastik jf324 on my mustang but not on the others. This is why I will probably get my squier VM jag SS converted to thru stringing - just so that I can use thomastiks. I'd prefer it if they made a 30" set though.
4. I was at the Barbican watching the Residents
5.
I already have my band name picked out, and can't find a reference anywhere so be on the lookout for "shadow hoax" there it's documented!
Anyone with the price of a four pack can grab the domain & hold it to ransom if you don't snap it up first - if I were you I'd grab it before someone else snatches it from under your nose: http://www.nominet.org.uk/whois/lookup?query=shadowhoax.co.uk
6. I'm not a lawyer & I do not play one on TV, but my understanding is that you can't copyright a chord progression. If the lyrics & melody belong to your singer, as long as your band does not use the exact guitar riff as played by the other band I can't see any problem. If your current guitarist can't come up with anything better than the original riff, create one for him - nothing needs to be set in stone.
7. The Squier Vintage modified jag SS is a massive upgrade over the bronco. Its 30" scale like the bronco/musicmaster/mustang & mine is as light as my danelectro longhorn (another 30" bass which might be worth looking at)
8. The truss rod is not there to adjust the string height. It adjusts the amount of relief. If there is too much relief in the neck tighten the truss rod; if not don't touch it. One the relief is set correctly then consider whether the saddle is the correct height.
9. Looks like it has a plywood body as the dark edge of the sunburst extends further over the forearm contour where the edge of laminates would otherwise be exposed.
10. The reason I came across this gadget was out of frustration of not being able to get the knobs off my epiphone thunderbird pro v. I've tried the shoelace thing & they won't budge. Also there isn't room to use spoons with anything underneath them to protect the bare wood. Not sure whether its worth going for the stewmac gadget, but I'll have to get them off somehow sooner or later.
11. This looks like a very useful invention http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Knobs/Knob_Pullers/Knob_Puller.html
12. Never used springs for a P bass. Rubber foam weatherstrip is what Fender use Allparts sell bits cut to size http://www.allparts....ups-p-3568.html I made some from a 50p ikea mousemat & carpet tape for one of my Precisions
13. give it a few years & the £100 beginners range from argos will be made like this
14. I have one of the natural oil finished ones that rolled of the production line after the inital run that had issues, so I have a rear mounted front strap button and the proper 5 string pickups fitted. The neck could be used as the flightdeck of an aircraft carrier, but I've got used to the spacing. The active eq isn't brilliant but the bass has a good basic sound with the eq flat. I use Thomastik JF345 flats on mine & they fit fine. Overall I like my one and won't be shifting it on any time soon.
15. I'd love to check out your website, but I'm on my iPad; all I can see is a big grey box with the message --------------------------- To enjoy this site you'll need to update your Flash Player. It's easy, painless and will take just a moment
16. I use a Wittner super mini which is much nicer than an app or electronic one which beeps They're not cheap, but a plastic-cased version is also available
17. Have you tried turning it off and on again?
18. This kind of reminds me of Sunday dinners when I was young. My brother would get his dinner set in front of him & be quite happy with what was on his plate, but then as everyone else at the table got theirs, he'd count their potatoes & complain if anyone had more than he did.
19. Any MIJ/CIJ Fender or a Squier that passes through my hands will get the jack socket upgraded to a switchcraft asap that the original flimsy one doesn't get the chance to fail at the worst possible moment. If the bass is a keeper I'll also drop in some CTS pots.

21. I wonder whether it suffered any ill effects from being stored in a barn - assuming it was amongst the kit stolen in 2009 & later recovered.
22. I only need reading glasses, but as long as I print the set list big enough I'm Ok without them. I had to stop using my beloved planet waves SOS tuners & use one that clips onto the headstock instead as the string name on the little wheel of an SOS tuner is printed smaller the name of the horse findus lasagne box.
